  1. I have worn shoulder rigs a great deal over the years. I personally have never cared for IWB holsters although I have tried. I like leather, I'm Ol' School I guess. I never cared for ankle rigs. I have several OWB high ride holsters that I like when appropriate but since you asked about shoulder rigs, I'll share my preference. I have Galco, Bianchi, and Vega shoulder rigs that I like very well. All of mine are horizontal holsters with the exception of the Bianchi X-15 for large frame revolvers which is vertical. One of my favorites that is no longer made but can be found used is the Bianchi 9R-1 designed for small revolvers. It is a bottom drop design that I really like for my Colt Detective Special. It can be worn as a shoulder rig or removed from harness and worn on belt. My first Galco was the Miami Classic I purchased in the 80s and is still in service. It has a double mag pouch that offsets the weight of the weapon, as do most of those mentioned. I have several of these for different weapons, although the design is the same I think they may have a different name now. I recently found the Vega holsters that also offer multi use designs in that one shoulder rig can be used for OWB, LB, or Shoulder carry. I have been very pleased with Vega and one of these is a go to rig for carrying my Bersa thunder. Historically I have been a big Bianchi fan but over the years it seems that their quality has dropped. Now when I seek Bianchi I tend to hit Ebay and holster bins in local shops and try to find the older manufactured goods. Avoid nylon rigs and save yourself the disappointment. That is probably a whole lot more than you wanted to read, sorry, I got on a roll.

  2. I'm not sure how well that would be, but probably not. I'm certainly not computer savvy enough to figure out how to post a YouTube video. I'm not a good enough shot to own a Colt Gold Cup National Match pistol either, but I still enjoy shooting it.

  4. Finally got this bad boy in last night. I won it in a giveaway on ar15.com in January I’m sure some of you saw advertised on Geissele social media. Notice the serial number is SHOT18 for this years shot show. Also the surefire is pinned and welded on the 14.5 inch Daniel Defense so I don’t need to SBR it. Here are the specs: Geissele Lower Geissele URGI Upper with DDC receiver (Daniel Defense 14.5" Gov.Profile 1-7, Surefire SF3P Muzzle Device, Magpul MBUS Pro, New Vortex Crossfire and Geissele mount) B5 Grip & Stock Geissele Super 42 H2 Buffer Geissele SSA-E

  5. Just saw a report that Kroger will stop selling magazines that cover tactical style firearms. I guess this is their way of protecting the snowflakes. It will also make more room for magazines promoting their Hollywood heroes and Marijuana growing. Guess I'll spend my time shopping at Publix and Aldi from now on.

  6. Better be careful, that spare grip could lead to another AR. I know I have built an AR just so I don't waste a $25 grip. One of the best 1-4 scopes I have used is the Bushnell 1-4 AR series scope. PSA puts them on sale from time to time for $150 and at that price they are a pretty good deal. Get this one: http://bushnell.com/all-products/rifle-scopes/ar-optics/1-4x-24mm-throw-down-pcl It is a FFP scope so the BDC works at all magnifications. It is also MIL adjustments which I prefer for ARs.

  7. I am an electric guy. I own a few acoustics. I have zero anecdotal experience or expertise to offer here. I however am an advocate for buying a quality less expensive guitar and having it modified, finished and set up by a quality luthier. Being a hobbyist luthier, I have $100 guitars, that after the proper parts and work, play as well as $1500 guitars at half the price. But again, in the world of electrics, that is more easily said than with an acoustic. I really like my Recording King Dirty 30s... A nut and bridge go a long way.

  8. Yet another reason to stay the heck out of Fla. I have zero use for a bump stock. Sold my AR, have no plans for another. They don't fit my Walther PPQ or PPS. Still, it's yet another little piece of the 2ND we don't need to lose. Like the old saying, " how did the calf eat the grindstone?, one bite at a time " The Libs continually wait for just such an opportunity. They never let a disaster go to waste.

  10. The kid was told to go to study hall if he wasn't joining the protest. That is well within the school's authority to make such an edict, and suspend the kid when he refused to follow instructions. I get that he was trying to find the happy middle ground, but administrators and teachers get to tell students where to be on school grounds, so the kid deserved his suspension.

  11. Not surprising, really. Every time we have a shooting, these people/businesses, come out of the woodwork trying to out-anti the other one. You just cannot fix stupid.... ( legally ).

  13. The Kroger store I shop in does not have a magazine section or rack in it but way I see it, if a store quits selling any products it's because of money more than anything else. If an item is not making a profit it is gone. It other stores I see that have magazine racks I see people standing reading a magazine and then close it up and place it back on the shelf anyway. Why buy when you can read it and put it back on the shelf?

  16. Kroger was founded and is still headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. You may know that, you may not, I don’t know. Point is they are not local and have destroyed most of the old Southern groceries.

  22. Since my favorite part of the second amendment is "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED", I am afraid I'll be of little help in this exercise. When I was a wee tot, there were sanitariums scattered about to house the mentally deranged. Today, they walk among us. Therein lies the real problem; not guns.

  24. Yep, they're all loaded until proven otherwise. And rule #2 about not pointing it at anything you dont want to destroy still applys even though it has been verified unloaded... because the gun is always loaded... even when it isn’t Sad story and a brutal reminder that there are no do-overs or second chances for poor gun safety.

  25. Well, I did it. Ordered this this morning. S&W MP-15 Optics Ready M-Lok Should be here in a few days. GrabAGun had it for $539 and I just couldn't pass it up at that price. I found a couple in town, but they had the standard round handguard and were priced at $650 and up. Now I'll have to spend at least that much or more on spare mags, optics, ammo and whatever else. Thanks to everyone for your guidance and input. Just a couple of months ago I would have told anybody that I'll never own an AR-15. Good Lord! What have I done?

  26. The right to protest is just as sacred in our founding documents as is our right to bear arms. You don't get one without the other. I get it that many here are concerned because of the subject getting protested today, but you don't really get to pick and choose. I had a good conversation with my 5th grader this morning about the protests - and learned a lot about her and her peers’ thinking in the process. She is a shooter - but she's also worried about violence at school. Protest by itself is rarely a solution - but it creates space to talk about solutions. I'm increasingly convinced that gun owners will either be a part of this conversation - including forming real solutions that protect peoples rights and their safety - or we'll watch as our rights are stripped.

  27. I haven’t read much of anything other than this thread, but I wonder the mindset percentages of those participating? How many are advocating gun control? How many are simply advocating for something (armed teachers, security, etc)? How many are doing it just to get out of class with no other real heart in the issue? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
