Finally got this bad boy in last night. I won it in a giveaway on ar15.com in January I’m sure some of you saw advertised on Geissele social media. Notice the serial number is SHOT18 for this years shot show. Also the surefire is pinned and welded on the 14.5 inch Daniel Defense so I don’t need to SBR it. Here are the specs: Geissele Lower Geissele URGI Upper with DDC receiver (Daniel Defense 14.5" Gov.Profile 1-7, Surefire SF3P Muzzle Device, Magpul MBUS Pro, New Vortex Crossfire and Geissele mount) B5 Grip & Stock Geissele Super 42 H2 Buffer Geissele SSA-E2 points

I'm not sure how well that would be, but probably not. I'm certainly not computer savvy enough to figure out how to post a YouTube video. I'm not a good enough shot to own a Colt Gold Cup National Match pistol either, but I still enjoy shooting it.2 points

Here's my discussion. It is ILLEGAL to take a firearm into a school. It is ILLEGAL to shoot people. If you believe one more law will stop this crap from happening, you aren't in the realm of sanity. Punishing ME for a crime committed by a brat in Florida won't help. I do not shoot people. As long as I am right and you are wrong, I see no reason for me to compromise.2 points

Just saw a report that Kroger will stop selling magazines that cover tactical style firearms. I guess this is their way of protecting the snowflakes. It will also make more room for magazines promoting their Hollywood heroes and Marijuana growing. Guess I'll spend my time shopping at Publix and Aldi from now on.1 point

I play a Martin DX 1 that I've had for 16 years. Not by any means near the price for a D28 but it plays and sounds great. Just about anything that has C.F. Martin on the headstock will sound good. I would like to have one of the ones you are considering too however. Maybe someday....1 point

Kroger was founded and is still headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. You may know that, you may not, I don’t know. Point is they are not local and have destroyed most of the old Southern groceries.1 point

Do you play well enough to justify a $3K guitar? If you do post up a YouTube Video so we can see.1 point

Greg... The thing with the guitar is the "what are ya gonna use it for" thing... My bunch (...not me...my youngin...) is pretty musical... Everything gets played here... The best thing is to play or have someone play 'em all... Pick the one you like... Ya got two great places there in Nashville... One is George Gruhn's pace, Gruhn's Guitars, the other is Carter Vintage Guitar right down the street... Ease on over there and take a look, and remember this; all guitars aint equal from any manufacturer... It's kinda like pickin a girlfriend or wife; pick the one you like... For what it's worth, Joe has a Golden Era D18 that i think is out of this world... If ya are old enough to remember the great Earl Scruggs playin the gospel lead ins on the guitar; they were done with a D18... Probably a 1930's era one... A simple mahogany guitar with an adirondack (...red spruce...) top... listenin leroy...1 point

Wrote a post on this tonight and thought I would share it and my back up math. http://leveledsurvival.com/2018/03/15/bugging-out-to-the-woods/ Just to extrapolate since someone (not on TGO) said it was "not that bad", I did some math: Shtf and the population of Nashville TN (684,410) decides to spread out over 100 square miles. Let's say 50% make it and not count the previous population of those 100 square miles. That leaves 3,422 people per square mile. Even if that was virgin land, no way could it sustain them. Even at 1000 miles that is 342 per square mile. Tucon AZ at 50% over 1000 square miles is 265 per square mile. Upscale this to some place like New York City. 8.538 million people at 50% over 1000 square miles is 4269 people per square mile. It is a concern if you do the math. All those people that survive have to go somewhere.1 point

I read a study once, it focused on the Eastern Seaboard, if the migration begins, by foot, 95% of them will die before coming over the Cumberland Plateau. The Appalachian Mountains will be very dangerous. That is of course not counting the existing population. Honestly I think that most urbanites will be too busy looting to worry about survival. History has shown this time and time again. It is my plan to bug in for a month minimum in my home. Defend and survive. Depending on the disaster, either 90% of the population will have ended themselves in that month, or order will be restored.1 point

Yeah 50% is high for longer term, but for the first exodus it is a nice round number to use. If agriculture is the plan, some areas have a lot of pavement to bust up before they even approach having enough acres. Honestly, the best scenario for the survivors is a sudden massive population drop that leaves the infrastructure and food stores intact. Without that the food will be hoarded quickly and lots of the population will go feral. You know how groups love to destroy stuff for no reason. They would trash the very stuff they need to survive.1 point

You haven't lived until you've squeezed a few rounds off in an antique Smith and Wesson or an 1873 Colt.1 point

Got about 45 minutes in and then got sidetracked when you started talking about Jared Reston and had to watch his interview. Glad to see you guys still have things to talk about after episode 1!1 point

Yep, they're all loaded until proven otherwise. And rule #2 about not pointing it at anything you dont want to destroy still applys even though it has been verified unloaded... because the gun is always loaded... even when it isn’t Sad story and a brutal reminder that there are no do-overs or second chances for poor gun safety.1 point

With as cheap as they are now lately, you'll pay nearly as much for the background check and FFL fee as you will the lower. You might as well just have them throw one onto your order any time you buy any kind of gun. At least you'll save on the BG check.1 point

...or an armed cop. The majority of cops who show up at local IDPA or USPSA matches are embarrassingly incompetent. The scary part is that they are the cops who are actually interested in guns.1 point

Rule #1: treat every gun as if it was loaded. Sad for the family.1 point

I see people do this a lot. Handle a firearm without checking. I will always check a firearm whenever I pick it up and will hand it someone with the action open so they can check it. That is a pet peeve of mind with gun shops these days. I can't tell you how many times a cleerk will hand someone a gun from the cunter or shelf and never look into it. Usually barrel first while sweeping other customers. Another family burying someone due to failure to follow common sense. Sad.1 point

I can't rememner the last time I picked up a firearm of any type and did not safely clear it before doing any other type of inspection of it. I assume every gun is loaded until I have cleared it completely!!!!!! Prayers sent to the family.1 point

We have a Shoot Point Blank in Louisville, the daughter and I are there nearly every weekend, the staff gets huge kick out of watching other customers that don't know us. They all think it is cute to see a little girl with her father. Then she rocks her sparkly eyes and ears, loads mag, slams it home, works the action on her M&P22 and shoots smaller groups than the muscled tactibro in the next lane. We can't go to the range without positive comments from other customers.1 point

I ask @Grand Torino if he could do a knife for me from a farrier rasp. He asked me a few questions ( I told him I liked red) and this is the results. Yes, they are both being added to my collection from GT. Every time I get a knife from GT the photos have never done justice to the real thing. I can't wait to see these in person. No words of thanks can do justice to the quality from GT. But thank you GT. You knocked these out of the park.1 point

Anderson lowers are like cats. Once you've got one and you start to get comfortable with it, more start to follow you home. Next thing you know, you're sitting in your room going "Where did all these come from? And how am I going to feed all of them?" But like, in a GOOD way.0 points
