Absolutely. And if Trump hadn’t been elected they would be banning AR’s instead of bump stocks.6 points

The great irony here is that if Hillary had been elected the GOP would have battled her on every move. Not out of principle, but out of spite. Saying "take the guns first and due process later" would have been the headline of every conservative news outlet. Instead we've identified the Elmer Fudd's of the gun community and watched as the GOP has essentially done nothing.3 points

Released on a Saturday? Wow. Usually the rubbish gets dumped at 4pm on Friday in Washington. Guess they really didn't want anyone who wasn't looking for this note to find it.3 points

As I've said before -- Trump was a gun-banning Democrat before he decided it would be useful to pretend to be a Republican, so I can't imagine that this move is a surprise to anyone who pays attention.2 points

Politicians, taking away rights since the beginning of time. If anyone believes politicians are here to support the people I have to pity them.2 points

Shooters Nation Episode 02: With Special Guest Ian Strimbeck of Runenation http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6351722/tdest_id/666675 David, Mark and Dennis interview special guest and self-defense trainer Ian Strimbeck of Runenation LLC. In this episode we talk about picking the right handgun for carry, how every situation isn't always a problem for guns, what it means to be a multi-disciplinary tactician, and why you should seek to learn a variety of life-saving skills as an armed citizen. Ian not only shares a ton of knowledge with us, but also answers several listener questions! Also in this episode: Mark tells us about the time he and a co-worker took some training and got into a fight with knives inside of a car and destroyed it, and David calls out gun-counter jockeys who foist ridiculously incompatible handguns off on first-time buyers. We even talk momentarily about color-filling the engraving on your handgun slide just to make sure we alienate everyone possible! You can learn more about Ian, Runenation and the Greyhive cadre of instructors at these links: https://www.runenationllc.com https://greyhive.com/1 point

I actually laughed when I read this. Who is "they"? You're suggesting the GOP controlled congress would have passed a new AWB together with Hillary?1 point
-
This is the real problem. Congress doesn't want to be bothered with the details, so they just delegate authority to the agencies. Very neat and tidy for a group that needs time to fund raise throughout the year, but it's the root of the issues we tend to get from ATF.1 point

As a collector of many GT knives you will not be disappointed.1 point

I think the Shadow 2 is too heavy. It is over the 43 oz weight limit. At least that's what the interwebz tells me.1 point

That same question is asked by most after their first time shooting one. CZ's are simply fantastic handguns. I think many overlook them because most dealers do not carry much of a selection.1 point

I don’t think so, and for the same reason that nothing happened after Newtown, or Aurora, or any of the incidents that happened while Obama was in office. When a D is in the White House, the Rs in Congress have to prove their conservative cred by standing in opposition. When there is a R in the White House (even if he is really a life long New York liberal), maybe a little more regulation ain’t so bad, right? It happened here in TN. Look at what was able to be accomplished with Bredesen as Governor and look at how the progress came to a screeching halt as soon as Haslam took office.1 point

Then go with a carbine length gas system. Beyond that it is just like any 5.56 rifle.1 point

Not to get into the age old caliber debate, but in that situation you need a bigger gun. I've been known to carry a .380 when in deep concealment because it has to be small. Other times I carry a 9mm, again due to size restrictions. On something like a "behind the counter gun", It's going to be a long gun, either a shotgun or rifle, because the only size limitation is for it to fit behind the counter. For me personally, 9mm is the biggest thing I want in a self defense handgun. It's not that I can't handle the recoil of bigger calibers, I had a Desert Eagle .50AE one time, but I feel that the 9mm is a much more controllable round for me. I can make fast follow-up shots much more accurately with 9mm than I can with .40. Given the choice on any self defense firearm, when concealment isn't a issue, I'm going with a shotgun or rife, with the choice being on what I think the range of the threat may be.1 point

Can you please provide links to exaclty what the Trump, DOJ, etc are doing? I do not get my news from gun sites that regurgitate MSM. We need to see in writing what is being enacted.1 point

Are you planning on running subsonic loads at all? If so get a pistol length gas system and an adjustable gas block. If you are going to only run supersonic ammunition then get a barrele with a carbine length gas system. Subsonic loads will work with a carbine length gas system with a silencer but may not work without one. Beyond that standard BCG, buffer and spring should work.1 point

Florida a prime example of successful Republican gerrymandering over the last 20 years. That has been somewhat reformed in the last couple. Remember, overall Florida went with BHO. Twice. And Nelson has been elected three times. - OS1 point

I hate to tell you but FLA is not some big bastion of conservatives and pro-gun values. Hell, it’s not even the South except for them rednecks up in the panhandle.1 point

The following form is provided to members of TGO as a courtesy and is a recommended private party Bill of Sale for the transfer of firearms. Please note the emphasis on the word recommended. While this form certainly has benefits for both the buyer and the seller, there is no legal requirement for it to be used. Arguments For: In the event that the firearm transferred to the buyer is eventually used in the commission of a crime, the seller has a record of having performed reasonable due diligence to document who the firearm was sold to and that the buyer attested to being able to legally own the firearm. This document could be provided to the authorities if the seller was ever investigated due to having been listed on a Form 4473 as being the original purchaser of the serialized forearm. The buyer is likewise provided with a record of who sold the firearm to them in the event that the firearm is ever determined to have previously been stolen or used in a crime. Arguments Against: It is not required by law. Some buyers prefer private party sales simply because there is no documentation in the hands of a government entity of that transaction having ever occurred. The form may be downloaded from the attachment to this post. PrivateTransferForm.pdf1 point
