  3. I have had a itch to get a new smoker lately. While doing some research, I stumbled on the Pit Barrel Smoker. This company is owned by a Iraq war vet and it is 100% made in the USA. I was pretty much sold at this point. Two weeks ago, I made the drive to the nearest dealer. This happens to be an ACE hardware in Gatlinburg. I wanted to take a look at one of these in person before pulling the trigger. Needless to say, it came home with me. You can have it shipped to your door at no additional charge but I didn’t know anyone who had one so I wanted to lay hands on it before purchasing. I’ve gotta day, I’m impressed! I’ve done wings, ribs, pork tenderloin, brats and a whole chicken. Everything has turned out as good or better than previous attempts on my gas powered vertical smoker. This is marketed as “Cooker” and I think the primary reason is the operating temp. It’s pretty much set it and forget it (which is great) but it runs between 265-300 degrees. This is a lot warmer than I’m used to but I can’t argue with the results. The manufacturer has a great website with instructions and recipes which include specific cook times. I’d recommend you check it out if your in the market for a new grill/smoker this spring. https://www.pitbarrelcooker.com/ I attached a picture of the finished products.

  8. Went to my local Dick's this evening. Spoke with the store manger. Told him this is not personally directed towards him. Handed him a copy of their corporate leadership anti Second Amendment announcement from today and my Dick's Score Card, and told him I am offended, they have lost me as a customer, and I will tell others why I no longer shop there.

  14. I had that thought initially. But, It’s got a very good ceramic coating and all of the other components seem to be very well made. I’m not saying he’s not got a nice margin on it but I imagine a good chunk of that is going to shipping. It’s around 70lbs as delivered.

  15. Thanks for the tip on the Fiocchi Ammo but I bought a case of it about a year before the panick buying started and got it at a very good price and I still have about 3 boxes left of it and I use it only for range ammo because about 1 or 2 rounds in my 15 round magazines fails to fire and I have to re run it through sometimes 2 or 3 times to get it to fire and some never fire so I won't be buyng any more of that brand of ammo.

  19. I have fired a friend's new P210 with the US-type magazine release. Nice trigger, nice factory finish, very accurate. At $1500, it's a bargain! While I DO like the side magazine release, I do not like the fiber-optic front sight. The finish is not as nice as the Swiss guns and it is significantly heavier. While the action is very smooth on the new gun, the older gun is as slick as oiled glass. Call me a snob, but it's not as well made as my Swiss-made P210. But, it's also been a long time since I saw a Swiss-made P210 anywhere near $1500.

  21. Yoga pants do not stop you from carrying if you are determined. I carry IWB Apendix with a kydex and I have an Alien Gear belt that I put over the yoga pants. If you have a gun you love and you always find a way! So my yoga pants hide my G29.

  22. Well we went to Knoxville today to buy Monkey a Snap On tool box. Met a great guy who was a Ford fanatic like myself. We also stopped at Bob's. I didn't see Mike, but I also didn't ask if he was there. But I did pick up some oldies that we like and then also some new things we have yet to try. The Smooth Ambler Contradiction is good. I can tolerate it, so it would be maybe light for some of you. I bought the Widow Jane for myself, which I will share with Monkey. The Tequila (Patron Silver and Espolon Resposado) is for me and Monkey gets the Bourbon. I bought the Bib and Tucker for him because I haven't seen it before and it looked interesting and then of course a new bottle of good ol Whistle Pig. I will NOT answer how many bottles of wine were also purchased today. But I did get a case discount if that tells you anything. LOL Dudes, I totally have an awesome pic but I haven't posted in a while and can't get it to show.

  25. In my mind the gubberment "I'm from the government and am here to help" has no stinking business ruling on AR15's period. Will they do something or at least try? Probably....but what happens if a company makes something else that works better the following year and then the next year and so on. AR's are not the problem...never have been. How come kids and and other nutjobs weren't shooting up schools and such in the 70's and 80's? The argument by liberals isn't AR15's...it's guns in general. If their stinking toe jam smelling foot gets in the door then they will go to semi-automatic handguns and all the rest. Say goodbye to Glocks with large mags and others. We will end up like England or Australia. This attack on an AR is only the first step...not the last. People will end up with an old Mosin ,M1 or Lee-Enfield. I don't have anything again those rifles but is that the only choice anyone wants? This has to be fought and never surrendered.....this is serious...to me anyway.

  27. I am not familiar with arlo. From what I can tell it only captures when it detects motion. Lots of room for failure there imho. My DVR wired cameras are on continuous record. Nothing to be missed ever. Monitoring to me is critical - with an integrated security/fire system it guarantees that first responders will be called. These other systems rely on YOU to do that. Lots of room for failure. And monthly monitoring is pretty cheap. You do not need a landline for monitored alarms. Cellular comm is the way to go since the phone line can't be cut. Your alarm guy can set this up for you. ADT and companies like that charge a high monthly fee with "free" equipment. Of course you are better off paying for your own hardware and then just the monthly monitoring. Lots of companies out there to do it Security stuff that is helpful imho: Window/door sensors Smoke alarm Heat sensors (different than smokes) Glass break if you have fixed Windows Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  30. While we can point out many things that these two women did wrong, or did without adequate skill, they scored an A on the three most important things: 1. Have a gun. 2. Be willing to use it. 3. No matter what happens, keep fighting. I would argue that, while they made many mistakes, the fact that they got the most important things right is responsible for their victory. Cheers, Whisper

  31. The NRA is pretty powerful, it's not the money that makes them so powerful, it's the 5 million+ votes they offer. The line from the left these days is that the NRA represents firearm manufacturers and not gun owners, that's the biggest bunch of hogwash I've ever heard.
