  3. Do you own one of these? Have you ever shot one? I won’t fault someone from trying to educate but you have yet to present a first hand account of issues YOU have experienced. Let’s stick to what we know not what we’ve “heard” from someone else who likely has never touched one of these pistols.

  5. So, are there any guns on the face of the planet that you don’t think are pure garbage?

  6. Anytime I’ve seen someone question if they could be charged involving firearms possession my first question is always “How did the firearm become an issue?” Just because the ATF says something is “legal” doesn’t mean you can’t be charged and have to go to trial. A Few years ago a Sumner County DA got a Grand Jury indictment on a HCP holder for possession of an illegal handgun for having a PLR-16 in his car. The DA claimed it was a SBR. An ATF agent was supposedly going to testify at his trial that it was legal. If I recall correctly a friend of the HCP holder was arrested from the HCP holders car with cocaine on him. A deal to dismiss was made with the HCP holder requiring him to sell the PLR-16. Cased closed. I want a small rifle for a trunk gun; so I ordered an AR-Pistol. I think the Pistol I have ordered and the shotgun you are considering both violate the intent of the law. However the AFT says they do not. Will that stop either of us from being arrested by a cop that doesn’t know, or charged by a DA that doesn’t agree with the ATF? I don’t think so. I’m at minimal risk for that happening, but I will carry copies of sales receipts (showing a pistol lower) and copy of any ATF documentation I can find.

  8. Since I've already posted about this rifle on a couple of the collector forums I frequent I might as well add it here too. For those of you who are not "into" Finnish Mosin Nagants, the M28/30 was the last iteration of the pre-war Finnish Civil Guard's attempts to update and modernize their rifles. It's predecessor was the M28, which gained a reputation for very good accuracy, the M28/30 added to that reputation by it's use in the World Shooting Championships of 1937. Many of the features of the M28/30 were later incorporated into the M39 rifle which was adopted jointly by the Civil Guard and the Finnish army just before the "Winter War" between Finland and the USSR. Production of the M28/30 officially ended in 1940, but some rifles were built during later dates, primarily as the M28/57 and M28/76 marksmanship (or sniper if you prefer) rifles. It is commonly believed that the "late date" M28/30's were made for officer training in marksmanship in the period 1968-1970. Few examples are known today. This is my post from the other forums: " Picked this one up during the holidays, thought it would be a good Christmas present to myself. The rifle was advertised on one of the common listing sites of arms as a "1970 M39". The picture clearly showed it to be in an M28/30 stock although little else could be determined from it. Intrigued, I took the chance and bought it over the phone. The rifle turned out to be a 1970 M28/30, in a post-war (what else) stock. It has a 2-stage trigger, shimmed action, but no barrel sleeve as my other M28/30 does. The tang date shows the receiver to be a 1913 Izhevsk, with the normal mix of various manufacturers stamps on the remaining parts. I knew from other references these late date M28/30's existed, but this is the first one I've come across. Although most of my collecting interest is in WWII and earlier rifles, I like this one a lot."

  9. Due to lack of interest from the members and lack of available time to properly curate it from the moderating team, I am closing the Discord chat server for Tennessee Gun Owners. As of Monday, February 26, TGO will no longer have an official presence on Discord. If the day comes that we have a means of offering integrated chat that is part of the forum suite, we will revisit the decision. Until then, we hope that you will continue enjoying the same family-friendly atmosphere here on the TGO forums that we have always prided ourselves on providing.

  10. Yeah, I know, all the gun blogs are claiming that the Sig P365 is the greatest handgun in the history of the universe, no one will ever again buy a Shield or a Glock 43, etc. Two shooters of my acquaintance have already said they are selling their Shields because of the magnificence of the P365. Neither has ever seen or handled one. Corporate news releases and reviews by gun writers are fine, but not authoritative. I'm interested, but I'd like to see one myself before deciding if I want to buy it. So, has anyone here actually seen one? Any stores in Middle TN stocking them? Inquiring minds want to know.... Thanks, Whisper

  11. Hey gents Active duty long range shooter just moved to TN. Good friends with David Mosley of magnum materials. Shoot an AIAX in 260 rem and a surgeon on AICS AX in 300WM. Handload for both as well. Look forward to meeting shooters and getting into long range here. Anyone know a good 1000 yard range? Or know open land that's good to shoot at? 14. I can't speak to what issues the military has with the P320. I can speak to the 2 P320s I own. Both have been upgraded via the volunteer upgrade program. Combined, I have fired nearly 5,000 rounds. Never an issue and I have used the full size in USPSA competition. Maybe I am one of the lucky ones but I am a P320 fan until I personally have issues. None so far. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

  16. The wrong cop on the wrong day can run your day any time. Best the radio but take the ride is an old saying that comes to mind. I think it comes down to the situation. Your behavior is probably a bigger factor than what you have in your vehicle for a firearm.

  22. No experience with this particular rifle but a lot of experience with PCP guns 10 meter sporter class air rifle mostly. Since you asked about a compressor it sounds like you are starting from scratch in the PCP world. I know several people that started out using manual pumps, myself included, but you will find that using a manual gets old really fast. The compressors that fill these are not your standard compressor. Air pyramid sells them but the good ones start at around $1300.00. Based on what I pay in the Nashville area the cost of a compressor will equal a 150 + fills of an 80 cf SCUBA tank. During a busy competition season and filling multiple guns I only filled my SCUBA tank 6 times in a year. I went to the SCUBA tank method and never looked back. Air Pyramid sells these set ups as well. I had a lot of people tell me that SCUBA shops would not fill my tank if I did not have a dive certification card but I quickly found out that is not true. I have purchased from Air Pyramid on several occasions and I can't speak highly enough about their customer service and support. If in any doubt call them. My experience was that they can talk you through any thing you don't understand or a problem with something you purchased.

  23. So here's another version of the periscoped rifle. The Cameron-Yaggi Experimental 1903 is a bit more complex and cumbersome.
