We had someone donate the entire cost of setup today. !!!!4 points

I've wanted to do this for a long time. I don't even know the total cost yet but I know it wasn't cheap (for me anyway). Build list: Daniel Defense MK18 URG SilencerCo ASR flash hider Spikes Crusader lower receiver Surefire M300c Scout light (500 lumen) with Surefire SR07 remote dual switch and UE tailcap Thorntail SBR scout mount Magpul sling adapter Magpul MS3 Gen 2 coyote sling Geiselle SD3G trigger assembly Trijicon MRO 2 moa red dot American Defense QD mount BCM QD end plate Midwest Industries QD sling attachment Sig SBM4 brace Magpul MOE+ grip Midwest Industries buffer tube assembly Spikes Tactical ST-T2 buffer Seekins Precision bolt catch and mag release button Geissele super charging handle Daniel Defense fixed front sight. Not sure if I want to use the fixed rear as of now. Probably go with flip up rear. Unknown manufacturer ambi safety selector All remaining lower parts were from my stash of extra parts. I don't think I left anything out. I'm really excited to get some time on the range with this setup. The length of the MI buffer tube and the SBM4 brace seem like a good fit for me as of now. I plan on getting a stamp for this lower and leave this setup alone once approved.3 points

Look at that Gawd awful rust. I'd say just send it to me pronto before it spreads to your other guns.....3 points

I am splitting this thread off from the other one. So, I put in a small order for a few samples from the company I have in mind. They won't arrive until mid February. These aren't done off-shore, it was just a condition of the small quantity and taking advantage of an offer they made to digitize the TGO logo for me for free if I didn't mind the delay. That said, I am also going to speak with them about a storefront for TGO. They will do all order fulfillment, which is nice. I'll let you guys know what we need to do to get this rolling after I speak with them.3 points

That's cute. Useless as a screen door on a submarine, but cute nonetheless.3 points

Why spend money at a business that does not believe you have a right to defend yourself with a firearm? Take your money elsewhere.3 points

The FK BRNO is a new pistol that will be imported for the first time in February. The say it is a new and unique concept and design and fires a proprietary cartridge, the 7.5 FK. The Field Pistol is a sporting pistol designed primarily to be used in long-range competitions, silhouette shooting, hunting, and generally any pistol shooting activity and tasks that requires the ability to engage targets at longer ranges, especially with a folding stock , such as (PSD) personal security detail, urban / suburban combat, backup (SBR) short barrel rifle, Air crew survival weapon, mechanised armour crew weapon, among other uses. Of course adding a folding stock requires a tax stamp. It is guaranteed to shoot less than 100x100mm at 100m. That is under a 4" group at 100m. Muzzle velocity is 2000fps with 880 ft/lbs and at 100m is still 1525fps and 520 ft/lbs. There are some interesting videos on their website. They take some large animals (200-320lbs) and do ballistic gel testing. Pretty impressive results. Now for the bad news. There is only one company that is going to import these. There will only be 1001 6" Field Pistols made for the US. The first order of 100 is almost all spoken for. They are accepting refundable deposits of $2500 to reserve a pistol. Price for the pistol is $7500. The ammo is 77.50 for a box of 50 95 gr hp. Don't know why but I really want one of these. If you see me posting a lot of toys for sale on here you will know I have finally lost my mind. lol. https://www.fkbrno.com/the-pistol-7-52 points

I see Giffords took no time to start yapping about more gun control. No idea what the reasons were yet or even waiting for information just start with the political BS. Things like this are what cause more and more hatred in the country. Rhetoric that is absolutely unneeded and uncalled for.2 points

My sister in law teaches there. Sad day. My lady went to Heath. She has been tracking this closely.2 points

What the hell is wrong with the parents. Everytime this happens it seems there are parents that are lacking. It is part of the puzzle that keeps showing up. Not the entire puzzle but an important piece. Sad start for sure.2 points

I'll go in for 2 TGO hats. +1 on the idea to fund the setup. +1 on the SN hats.2 points
-
While I’m totally in for a TGO hat, just like to drop the idea that I’d also really like to get my hands on an SN hat as I think it might be nice conversation starter. I am constantly traveling all over the country after all. Plus, you just plain did a bang up job on that logo.2 points

Not so fast. The fact that you are offended by my being offended of your offensiveness just means one of us needs right guard! Now there is a memory2 points

I was fondling one of these the other day and it was all I could do to walk out of there without it. I couldn't believe that I was actually even thinking about spending close to $600 for a six shot .22 but I've been thinking about it ever since searching for justification and I think I found it......I really want it !!! My biggest problem is the fact that they have a Single Seven in .327 for the same price, and before someone says it, no I won't buy both .1 point

Hello, Mike’s wife Lisa here. As I go through and close out and memorize as many accounts as he had, it’s really lovely to see all the condolences here. He LOVED his guns and the community he found here and on other forums. Thank you for all your kind words. He was a great husband, father, friend and Tattooer. He’s so incredibly loved and missed.1 point

SHHHH! Keep quiet about this. The price on these little guns has already gone crazy and they are as scarce as honest politicians. Move along folks, nothing to see here, go look at that nice Glock 17 over there....1 point

For that money I'll go build a bolt action .338 LM and hit 100×100mm targets out to +1k. I do very much like the looks, just not the price tag.1 point

Not terribly hard to find. Not sure when they went to plastic though. https://m.ebay.com/itm/Dan-Wesson-Barrel-Tool-44-Mag-Nice-/1127662467631 point

7.62x25 Tokarev is what the cartridge reminds me of. I have a lot of time with the x25 and believe it would make one of the best self defense calibers in a modern pistol design. This one is a bit hotter than the x25. If you haven't looked at the x25, take a serious look at it because it will do a lot of what this one will at a fraction of the cost. At one time you could buy drop in x25 barrels for 1911's chambered in 38 super. In order to reduce felt recoil they have to add mass to the gun. It looks heavy so that might be how they are doing it. 880 ft pounds of energy with felt recoil of a 45ACP is a pretty neat trick if they indeed pulled it off.1 point

Thank you to those that responded to the thread and in PM. With a little encouragement, I picked up the revolver during lunch. This is it in its current state.1 point

Get yourself one of the many "braces" being introduced and get the same result but with it being accurate. The Shockwave brace is about the best one out there. Shockwave, as well as a few others, are introducing a "brace" that is adjustable and fits a standard collapsible buffer tube. I would rather have an accurate "pistol" with a "brace" I can shoulder than a smoothbore that is nothing but a noise maker. They have taken a modern firearm back a few centuries and charge a premium to do it. I keep looking at the calendar and trying to figure out if today is the first day of April because there is no way they can be serious about selling that. But fools will separated from their cash quite easily if they think they can stick it to "the man". To say an 11.5" barrel is only good to 50 yards anyway is idiotic. He is obviously either a lousy shot or catering to others who are lousy shots. I can promise you that most people can shoot better than 4" at 50 yards with a rifled 11.5" barrel. I guess that standard for what is accurate has really dropped. To me this is nothing more than a gimmick to pry the cash from those afraid that our government plans on taking their firearms. But even so this isn't free from the standard process of buying a firearm. It is still regulated like any other firearm. If they ever outlaw certain firearms I would put my money that NFA items will be the last to be taken, machine guns are the case and point. Machine guns have been illegal to manufacture for over 30 years and are illegal to own or possess without being properly registered before the 1986 ban yet they remained during the AWB and will likely remain long after all other guns are banned. None of the national firearm bans have affected NFA items in the least so dare I say it but the $200 stamp is also protection against the government taking your NFA item. I remember a manufacturer trying to get around this by producing a straight rifled barrel, I think it was the Taurus when they were getting approval to produce the Judge, and the ATF opined that "rifling" without a twist was still considered rifling. I bet Taurus is pissed over this recent opinion. They wanted the Judge to be a .410 pistol rather than a 45 LC pistol that happens to shoot .410. Imagine how different the Judge would be if it did have a smoothbore.1 point

I'll check them out. I don't discount the energy delivered to a target - pushing a 98gr round that fast is going to dump some energy when it hits something. I question what the shooter is going to feel (and recognize that some of that is going to be subjective.) It's a cool design. I like how they appear to have lowered the bore axis. At first I looked at that beavertail and thought, "wow they're serious about that." But they have to be, I guess. Without it, it would be like the Model 97 of the pistol world.1 point

I'd want to see some measured data there. That sounds great in a marketing piece - but Newton still has to sign off. And, he's a jerk...1 point
-
No way I'm putting my suppressor on a rifle that's throwing a non stabilized round... While I get the fact that practical effects on accuracy might be mitigated at CQB distances, unfortunately bullets rarely stop there. This seems like an easy way to break the "know your target and what's beyond it" rule in spirit.1 point

That's a good looking pistol, something visually appealing about it. But that's one of the craziest prices I've ever seen.1 point

I am a tool maker by trade, been at it for 40+ years. A lot of CNC stuff now but back in the day any close work needed hand fitting, and it still does. I enjoy the process of knife making quite a bit feeds my creative side I guess. Whatever the tool is, it has to work and fit both the job and the man doing it.1 point

Quite true, prob is that in the real world, it might take court procedure, maybe even appeal process, to get a ruling that strictly abides by the statute. Just look at how the carry in parks statute has been virtually ignored by various municipalities, eh? - OS1 point

As much as I would like a hat the "round" top hats just do not fit my head. I do like the "truckers" or "bill board" style as they do fit my big head1 point

Bearcats are the dandiest little .22 pistols ever. Never held the Shopkeeper version but I absolutely love my regular one. They really are just pure fun. Not sure what the current prices are and that seems a bit high but I would have that over a Single Seven any day.1 point

A good point! But most folks these days have not heard of Bo! More or less know his songs. "I think some people just feel like they are either obligated or entitled to stick their nose in where it doesn't belong." That is why I am against most religions. Believe what you want but keep it to yourself! If I politely decline your offer to preach to me then I think you should respect my wish. Too many people these days think they do not have to respect anyone's personal beliefs. Most think you have to respect theirs but they do not have to reciprocate. Hmmm to me that sounds like bad parenting or just a complete loss of realilty.1 point

I grew up the old fashioned way: I KNEW my opinion didn't matter. But you're right, not only do people seem to be more sensitive, they're also constantly on the lookout for some way to get their feelings hurt and be offended. They also think it's their right-privilege-responsibility to police the "airwaves" and be offended for someone else and to set out the "offender" so that the "offender" can be brought back into lock step. Come to think of it, it reminds me of communism1 point

Many of my Doctor offices have no gun signage. Don't see a way around that one, for sure on Medicare like I am. Not a lot of choices with that insurance! Sometimes, not doing business in prohibited areas is not as easy as one might think. Just my Opinion.1 point

I will donate $20 to the set-up, start a “go fund us” thread for the hats and it will be over in a day or two if I had to bet. Start the thread and quote me please.1 point
