I ask @Grand Torino if he could do a knife for me from a farrier rasp. He asked me a few questions ( I told him I liked red) and this is the results. Yes, they are both being added to my collection from GT. Every time I get a knife from GT the photos have never done justice to the real thing. I can't wait to see these in person. No words of thanks can do justice to the quality from GT. But thank you GT. You knocked these out of the park.3 points

Glad to hear it. Our 4-year old added Mr. Doug to her bedtime prayers tonight. She's pretty persistent, so I think God heard her.3 points

Vanguard has the lowest rates for long term mutual funds and are very helpful moving accounts. I have moved all my scattered accounts plus my retirement roll over to Vanguard with their help. I stopped playing with individual stocks a long time ago, I always picked wrong. I'm in an assortment of mutual funds now.3 points

A lot of you know @bersaguy. He’s had some incidents over the last week that are going to require surgical intervention tomorrow. I got to go by and see him this afternoon. He’s in great spirits, but the triple bypass surgery he’s having tomorrow afternoon is serious. He could use your prayers over the coming days. I’ll update as soon as I hear tomorrow, but in the meantime, keep him in your thoughts.2 points

Doug is out of surgery. He’s not out of the woods yet, but is doing okay right now. They’ve got the breathing tube out. Right now they’re worried about stroke risk and some clots. We’ll know more tomorrow, but be prayerful he can get some rest and begin the process of healing.2 points

The reason I passed it up is simply the fact that I am not a collector. My use for such a revolver is strictly for shootin'. And I wouldn't tolerate having aluminum alloy parts on such a fine revolver. Immediately would have begun a search for a steel grip frame and ejector rod housing. And some better looking grips. The gun, to me, is a project gun from day of purchase. So in my most magnanimous character, left it to the collector's. Bob Wright1 point

I have experience transferring an account from E*Trade to TD Waterhouse (before the Ameritrade merger), and it wasn't hard. The process was driven by the receiving broker (TD Waterhouse in my case).1 point

I have accounts at TD Ameritrade and E*Trade. The main reason I have an E*Trade account is the Thomson Reuters research that is available through them. The last time I tried to deal their "customer service" I was quite disappointed, so any new money goes into TD Ameritrade. I have been pleased with TD Ameritrade customer service. They did for me what E*Trade refused to do. Besides having access to more research, having accounts at different brokers gives me access to more mutual funds because not every broker offers access to every fund. I also liked the idea of have multiple accounts back in the days when the online brokers weren't all that stable from an online service perspective. I think that's mostly a non-issue these days. I have not used the mobile app for either, so I cannot provide any insight there. If you have a particular mutual fund you want to buy, find out where it's offered and start narrowing the list from there.1 point

That was my point. Only about 100 bucks more for a desirable collector's piece in apparently mint condition seemed quite fair to moi. - OS1 point

Im looking forward to the p365 stupid gimmick name but gun looks really promising.... 11 rnds vs 6 or 7 from the glock or shield1 point

Apples and oranges. The old 3 screw models have considerable collector interest.1 point

I am a retired marine/sailor, Wife is a retired Sailor. We have and will continue the battles. We check everything we procure for the made in USA label. Picking one's battles is a great thing but expressing your desires to a congress critter is pretty painless regardless of the battle. As I have mentioned in previous posts it is hypocritical to want to carve out a deal for your special interest while wanting to cut someone else's. Seems our politicians need to learn that again.1 point

I’ll post as soon as I hear. Assuming all went well, surgery should have finished up a little bit ago.1 point

I'll fight for our rights too ( U.S.Army), but I prefer to pick my battles for the bigger picture. Plus, folks cry about "buy American", but they don't want to give up the cheaper mdse. Very difficult to find mdse that isn't labeled, "Made In China, Mexico, etc." Each his/her own.1 point

Brothers n Sisters.... If you are a Ruger single action aficionado, this is a great deal... There were very few "Three Screw" 45 Colts of any flavor... Most of em were "New Models"... The last one i saw several years ago, i bought... It was north of $500 as i remember... These are great pistolas.... 45 leroy...1 point

I have an IRA at Ameritrade, no complaints about them. Their website has some analytical tools as well. I've rec'd some emails from a "human" wanting to know if I wanted to discuss any issues but I'm familiar enough with the stock market and my objectives, etc., to where I do it solo. I also have a 401K at Fidelity, and they have humans as well that you can talk to if you desire. I can and do recommend a financial advisor with Raymond James, they are located in the Brentwood area. PM me if you want their info. This advisory group has been in business for years, will help as much as you want or need, you can call 'em anytime and talk to a human.1 point

PC7, thanks for the info. Good resource. In reference to DMarks Fault line discussion, I still find the new ruling about as clear as mud. So you have the option to use cover as we did in the old rules or go to a "wide" FL at that POC and be exposed to multiple targets?1 point

So did I miss what you finally decided on. Do you like it after using it?1 point

Engine oil . I keep it simple. For 24 years my handguns , shotguns , and rifles have been lubed with engine oil. If you want something else I say Ballistol. On semi-auto rifles like AR's I use wheel bearing grease on the slide points and engine oil on the bolt and small parts.1 point

I also do not use any of it but I will still fight for OUR rights. If we do not fight together they will take all our rights slowly over time.1 point

yep , you cant improve on them anymore. They eat and eat 9mm ammo of any type My M9 is as reliable as my old Gen 2 Glock 17 .1 point

BPS has smokeless powder on the shelf, at Cabelas you pick up the empty bottle of desired powder and find an employee who goes into the dark dark back room never to be seen again. LOL1 point

My daughter is nearing that age. I have rage reading this. I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, and OH MY LORD, I could have some fun with an eighteen year old legal adult without crossing the line of unlawful detention or assault and get my point well across. That doesn't make any of these thoughts or worries easier to digest. I ride that fine line between Rodney Atkins and a full blown crazy outlaw biker. Say the word and I can come down to the Tri-Cities for a weekend and we can stay legal and instill the fear of god in some cats.1 point

Prayers for you Doug and the surgical team. Dad had triple bypass a while back. Good as it may be for you, try not to laugh too much. And whatever you do, don't sneeze. Heal up fast.1 point

I’m going to say this as someone who has worked more assault cases than I can remember. Snapchat does not belong on a 14 year old’s phone. Full stop. You’ve got someone else delivering her a device, she’s googling how to get a SIM card and lying to you and your wife about it. There’s more going on than you know - and she’s in over her head. Our kids are always going to be smarter than us about technology. You’re not going to get out in front of that. But, we’re smarter than them about life. You’ve got to come to some type of understanding. It’s possible to recover some Snapchat data depending on the version and the particulars of the device, but it’s unlikely. You should consider blocking access to the camera, uninstalling any social apps and then locking the device so that she can’t install new apps. I’d make sure you have geolocation turned on as well. We’ve used it to find more than one teen - most of them before it was too late. If you do find out that this is an adult, you should consider getting law enforcement involved.1 point

Innovation in firearms? I'm still waiting to get a phaser or maybe a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range. That will be innovation!1 point

I don’t support any restrictions in relation to firearms, BUT You are shooting communist ammo through communist guns. Since when is it OK to do business with and financially support our countries arch enemy since we became a country ourselves? We have American made AKs (not as good as Eastern Bloc but that’s why we have ARs) and domestic manufacture 5.45x39 and 7.62x39 ammo. More expensive, yes. But quality usually is. Anyone that pays attention to politics wasn’t blindsided by this.1 point

I usually have my carry gun with me, so a lot of times when we are out shooting, I'll also shoot the gun and spare magazine empty. I'll also pull it out to dispatch the occasional possum or whatever. I clean it when it looks dirty. So far, this has worked great.1 point

I see little reason to require 500 rounds through a modern handgun before you feel comfortable carrying it. Run a few mags through it. If it works, carry it.1 point

Agree 100%. I have a NF ATACR F1 4-16x42 on a SCAR 17 and it will be moving to my RPR to be replaced by a NF NSX 2.5-10x24 in the very near future. Love the build quality, love the glass and love that many are made here in the US(with import parts...lol)...as I get older my appreciation for quality glass grows.....NF fanboy here!1 point
