We see plenty of pistols coming out of there. Any place is going to have issues as they scale - but they’ve certainly got some incentives to square them away over time. But, either link to a primary source instead of “my buddy says” or I’m closing this thread.2 points

The downrange thing is blown out of proportion to what actually happens or at least to what was done when I took the class.. One of the instructors took pictures from between targets stands but it was after they had watched us shoot , he picked people that were not missing and was never in the direct line of fire. No firearms were thrown...they had the shooters hold their pistol out in front of them and drop them. Then recover them and fire a drill. Not a big deal at all.2 points

this is awesome and those guns are in pretty good shape for being in a river all those years! http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/12/11/soviet-armored-ww2-patrol-boat-bk-31-recovered-stalingrad/1 point

In the beginning, there was the Internet. Then, Obama and his geniuses decided to fix one more problem that didn't exist, and added lots of regulations that accomplished absolutely nothing. Kinda like everything else he touched.1 point

I never had a problem before this, and I doubt killing it will change anything. So like I said above, if Obama and Co was for this, then there must be some hidden poop sandwich being fed to us. I wonder if they will reverse the ICANN decision as well http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-37527719 Obama tried his best to give up as much US control over to the U.N. as he could, we need to get as much back as we can.1 point

No guns are currently being made by the Beretta plant in Gallatin. Wow, seems like that would be headline news within the industry. - OS1 point

Maybe you can try this out after 14 hours of building when your kid's enthusiasm and your patience has long since worn off:1 point

Guess the cold and mud preserved them. That's really cool.1 point

Yes, I've noted several things like that; but found the characters so intriguing that I just glossed over it. I figure if I could stomach the goofball stuff in TWD, I could overlook inconsistences in something I actually liked.1 point

Try it and see. IIRC, the 17 and 22 have similar recoil spring weights, if not the same. The 17 is oversprung from the factory. A few competitive shooters load .40 to make "minor" power factor (velocity x bullet weight = 125,000 or better) in certain divisions. If it doesn't function, try a 13 pound recoil spring. Check the brianenos.com .40 forum to find some .40 minor load recipes.1 point

That sort of thing happens in all sorts of relatively high volume production operations. It's difficult (and expensive) to eliminate. Most of those places don't hire or want machinists, they want machine operators. The processes are typically highly automated so they don't really need a machinist's skills, just someone to load and unload fixtures and push the "go" button.1 point

Murgatroy, I am not good with words, but I hope words can help. First off, and most importantly to me, I'll be praying for you and your family. If it were not for prayer, and for God who just refused to abandon me, I don't believe I would be here. I had a "grandmother" on my mother's side who I believe was completely evil. My "grandfather" on my father's side, well I'm not even sure if he's still alive or not. The first of only two times I met him was the first time Dad had seen him in 25 years. I have no contact with my brother. His choice not mine. I do know that he lives in Idaho now. My Dad was locked away in his own world, a world of deep depression, most of the time I was growing up. Might have been what we call PTSD now. Dunno. Never really had much of a relationship with him for a long time. One day I decided to put an end to that. Didn't have anything to lose so I went for it and decided to forge a relationship with Dad out of the coals of nothing. It took a while, but it worked. I had also decided early on that my boys were NOT going to grow up like I did. They would never have to question whether or not their daddy loved them. There is a history of rejection and abandonment in this family. I chose to not let that generational curse continue. And it sounds like you are doing the same thing. The fact that you grew up in the foster system was not your choice. The fact that your mother chose not to have a relationship with you was not your choice. The fact that your siblings chose a bad life was not your choice. But you have made other, wiser choices. You have chosen to not allow your child to have to live under that curse. I don't know you. But others here apparently do, and I can tell by their words that you must be an upright man. We all have our flaws, but that is the case if we are still breathing air. But you did not become your past. You became your child's future. And for that I applaud you. There is no need to feel guilt for rising up from the quagmire that could have been your life, and just as importantly, your immediate family's life, and making the choice to walk in an upright and honorable way. There are different forms of grief, and I believe you are grieving now. You may soon grieve in a different way, or on a different level, but I don't know. Either way, try not to feel guilty for the way you think you ought to be grieving. Just let it come in it's own time. Your post has brought some things to the forefront for me, and I thank you for that. Reading all the responses here has helped me a great deal, for which I am also thankful. May the God of Heaven bless you and keep you. And if you do not know Him, I REALLY hope you get to know Him soon. For in that you will find an indescribable peace, and you will see a future and a hope.1 point

One thing I took a way from this was that people have been eavesdropping on phone conversations since the 1920's. Well dah! Then after a little research, and I mean very little, this guy believes the Deepwater Horizon oil spill was intentional at which point I said, I've seen and heard enough here.1 point
