  3. If you want every state to have federally mandated laws as bad if not worse than California, New York, Illinois, etc. then go right ahead. Things will get much worse, not better. Deal with it on the state level, don’t get the heavy handed feds involved.

  6. When Bersa and I agree, that's a sign of...well, not sure what, but it's worth note. The federal government getting into this simply establishes an inroads we don't want on the issue.

  10. Ya need to remember just how the Second Amendment got to where it is... The Second Amendment was, in fact, the second amendment as written originally until after the Civil War... Reconstruction state houses in each state passed restrictions on the second amendment in order to disarm certain non favored classes of folks... That's why most every state constitution has words similar to the Tennessee State Constitution that read kinda like this... "....The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, BUT, the legislature shall have the power to regulate the wearing of arms with an eye toward keeping the peace"..., or some such other platitudinous baloney... "The regulation of the wearing of arms" thing in the state house effectively put the control of the LEGAL wearing of arms and the Second Amendment in the hands of the state house politicos... That's why it's so important to watch what the state house does on this issue... That allowed the Federal Gubmt (...Federal Courts...) to "hands off" and defer judgements on the Second Amendment at the state level... The Federal Court will not outright allow the banning of arms, but they will give every leeway to each individual state legislature... That is why ya have to watch the state house actions on this issue, and that's why (...i think, at least...) these other cases were not taken by the Supreme Court... leroy

  11. Decided to treat myself on a random Wednesday. Not too shabby with just a chunk of meat, a pan, and a stove. Potatoes may look bland, but they have fresh pressed garlic and fresh grated parmesan cheese mixed in.

  13. We are not in the "free State" category, it is a crime to carry a loaded firearms off of one's personal property in TN without paying some sort of tax to do so. (and depending on who the liberal judge is, you may not have the ability to bear it on your own property, ask me how I know that one?) Oh, I know, you may transport a loaded firearm sans permit in a vehicle, but beware taking it out and using it.

  21. The cut of most suits now is so trim that having much of anything in your pants pockets results in fairly absurd looking bulges unless you're a pretty big guy in the first place. I'm not a big fan of that style, but that seems to be the "in" thing these days.

  22. Read this on another site and almost hits my life on the head...........LMAO I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People get out of my way much faster now. Gone are the days when girls used to cook like their mothers. Now they drink like their fathers.. You know that tingly little feeling you get when you really like someone? That's common sense leaving your body. I didn't make it to the gym today. That makes five years in a row. I decided to stop calling the bathroom the "John" and renamed it the "Gym" . I feel so much better saying I went to the Gym this morning. Old age is coming at a really good time. When I was a child I thought "Nap Time" was a punishment. Now, as an old fart, it feels like a small vacation. The biggest lie I tell myself is..."I don't need to write that down, I'll remember it." I don't have gray hair; I have "wisdom highlights." I'm just claiming to be very wise. Teach your daughters how to shoot, because a restraining order is just a piece of paper and not worth a thing. If God wanted me to touch my toes, He would've put them on my knees and not put that big round pot belly in the way. When I came here I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven't met yet. Why do I have to press one for English when you're just going to transfer me to someone I can't understand anyway? Of course I talk to myself; sometimes I need expert advice. At my age "Getting lucky" means walking into a room and remembering what I came in there for. Actually I'm not complaining cuz I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 years later. I don't have to go to school or work. I get an allowance every month. I have my own pad. I don't have a curfew. I have a driver's license and my own car. The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant. I don't have acne. And I don't stay mad at anyone for long because I forget why I am mad at them. Life is great. I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can't remember their names.

  24. I had a little EDC pocket organizer from this guy, held my pen, flashlight, and knife with no damage to dress pants pockets. https://www.etsy.com/shop/BushgearLeatherworks Congrats on the new gig BTW! I will point out that now that you work a desk job, I encourage you to concentrate less on what you can't carry in your fancy new pants, and instead concentrate on what you can fit into your new briefcase!

  25. I turned in a diamond engagement ring that I found on a school playground one time. Got a receipt from the police. Called on them 90 days later and asked if it had been claimed. They said no. So I asked for it back and they said NO! The ring was now property of the city and would be sold at auction and the money put in the general fund. Not like I was taught in school, turn it in and if nobody claims it, it's yours. BS! Never turn anything in! I never will again! If I can find the owner, he gets it back. But will never trust the police with found property again.

  27. I wouldn’t keep it. The owner deserves to get his gun back and most states have laws against possession of a stolen firearm; in some states it’s a felony. I didn’t listen to the whole video, but I heard the Officer tell him he didn’t know how the “lost property” thing worked and gave him a report number to follow-up.

  30. We usually have Turkey & dressing and Country Ham but also my sisters husband does a crock pot of backstraps with carrots, taters and onions . I eat a plate of each before I go to my baby sisters to eat . Hopefully I will get a couple so I can give him one otherwise I get no deer at Christmas. Besides , my dad died in august and I have three of his rifles that I really want to get a deer with this year . He wasn't able to hunt last year and his High Wall 38-55 has yet to get blooded . I'll be off again Thursday and Friday and its supposed to be colder so maybe my prospects will improve . Eddie

  33. The SCOTUS has made it clear they will give a lot of discretion to the states on how and where guns are carried. They have also made it clear that arguing an AR isn’t an assault weapon doesn’t hold water. We need to remain focused on our state laws. Expanding Federal gun laws is a terrible idea.
