  3. Well, Darby day 3. All is well and things are moving right along. She had pedigree small chunks mixed with a pack of soft pedigree food and she woofed it down right quick, clean bowl in about 2 minutes. I made myself a pot roast today with Mashed potatoes and made some gravy. When plate was full I went into livng room cause I eat on a TV stand. Right beside my stand was a pair of eyes watching every bite I took. I looked down at her sitting watching me and I said don't worry, your gonna get to lick the plate so she lays down and waits right there. I left just a few potatoes and gravy and about 6 small bites of beef on the plate. Below is the results after supper"s.

  6. We can’t kill a missile on its way up. We could probably kill it on its way down if we had missile defense downrange ready. But the risk of failure or damage to innocents is great. If we attempt to shoot down a missile and miss; we have a problem. The Chinese and the Russians would probably like to see our attempts at shooting down a missile. Being able to shoot down missiles isn’t what stops aggressors from shooting at us. The knowledge that even if their missiles hit their mark we are going to kill them is what stops them.

  7. In all honesty Omega, I don't think they wanted a murder conviction or even a negligent Homicide charge to stick. I think the state of California wanted to use this case as an example to show the rest of the country that they are the boss in that state. Right or wrong doesn't matter to them. The state got what it wanted and it came at the cost of a family losing their daughter and the Perp getting off with a slap on the wrist. I hope all illegals learn from this and flood like an exodus to California. Maybe the entire gang of MS 13 needs to move out there before Sessions gets all of them in jail. The the Feds need to cut all funding to the state completely. Let it be an Island that is still connected only by land and nothing more...................JMHO

  8. The thing is, he should have been charged with manslaughter or negligent homicide instead of murder. They had the gun, knew the bullet had ricocheted off the pavement and still went for murder. Everything else being equal, this would of never made such headlines had it not been made so politically charged. Look at the incident here locally, hot young prostitute shoots homeless man and it only gets a few days of press. It has many elements that could of made this story linger in the press, but nobody picked it as THE story. Whether we like it or not, this is our legal system at work, 12 jurors decided and we need to accept it. I don't believe in double jeopardy, if a person is found not guilty then so be it. Do we really want the feds being able to pick and choose who they will prosecute when they are acquitted at the state level? How about the state charging you after a city, or county trial? No, I think they need to settle the whole jurisdiction portion before the trial and make sure they have a good case before they go for broke. Of course this doesn't affect criminal acts across state lines such as murders committed in multiple states, but not for the same incident.

  9. I feel so sorry for the family of this young woman. I can just imagine the hate and disappointment they must feel after having been let down by our legal system. This man was deported five times and the city of San Francisco let him go again. He committed murder and got away with it. I’m not a fan of double jeopardy, but it has been done before and this is a case that warrants it. It sounds like the Feds may be stepping in and doing just that. Hopefully the family will get the maximum allowed by law in the wrongful death case against the city and the Feds.

  13. I agree that dogs can make a better person out of some one but first that some one must appreciate that unconditional love that a dog has for his partner and there are many folks that don't realize that. I still have not given up on mankind and Over the past several years I have watched our youth as they are growing up and in many cases where trouble and riots are involved it is older people that should be setting good examples that are the ones causing the trouble and getting the younger people involved in it............JMHO

  14. Not to hijack the thread but you do find kindness and good people in times of need. I was at the transfer station today and two young men helped me unload my truck. I didnt ask them they just did it. Ive been having back issues and appreciated it a lot. There is a chance for mankind for sure. Bersa I know that my dogs make me a better person. It's great how they can do that to us..

  15. Thats funny right there and sometimes I feel like that but I found the other evening when all those young men parked their trucks and cars in driveways to help me catch Obie Wan showed me that there is still a chance man kind.............

  16. Looking at the eastern edge. My target is Sevierville, but anywhere in that part of the state should work for us. We're moving back east to be with our families. We've been out here for 15 years, and our children and grandchildren are just too far away. Tennessee will put us geographically in the middle between the Yanks and Rebels.

  17. My heart goes out to Kate Steinly's family for their loss and the injustice they were just handed them for the murder of their daughter. As far as a Legal Dave, California does not have one for the good people left in the state. Only the criminals benefit from it. I sincerely hope that Sessions does pick it up and prosecute this scum bag to the fullest extent of Federal Law. I also hope that the Feds see fit to defund any and all sanctuary cites and states period. If you are told to hold a imigrant in your jail for ICE and you refuse and turn them loose you loose funding period. Any state or city that refuses to obey Federal laws which over rule any state or local laws should refuse all Federal funding..................JMHO

  18. Well last night was better. No accidents! My first wake up was about 3AM and when I go up she got up and followed me to the bathroom. I took her to the door and she was more than glad to accomedate to hook her to the cable run. As she clear the over hang above the door and found some grass she dropped her butt..........lol ! didn't paly around but came right back to the door. I unhooked her and before I could get back to bedroom she was already on her bed ready to go back to sleep. Got up at 7AM and she went right to the door so I hooked her up and went for coffee pot. I got to speak with the Rescue Center I picked her up from and I learned more about her. They called to see how things were working out and I said fine and told her about the one accident and she said that is probably because she came from her original home that had a doggie door so she could go as needed and they also have doggie doors at their place. She told me if I keep working with her she will learn my routine and fall in line soon. I told the lady that I don't seriously think that they will be getting her back and she said that would be great! I told her I will be stopping by for her medical records to take with me next week as we have a Vet appointment and she said she will have them ready for me. It is a vet visit to just check her out and confirm that what the on site Vet at the Rescue Centers records are as they say they are.

  20. We aren’t worried about his missiles getting here; we are worried about his artillery. He isn’t launching armed ballistic missiles. He’s thumbing his nose at us telling him he can’t have nukes. That doesn’t justify starting a war that will surely kill thousands of American Troops and possibly millions of South Koreans. If they figure out a way to take out his artillery without him being able to use it; our government would probably do it. But that probably won’t happen. We can’t, and won’t nuke them; even if they launched a nuke. We don’t need to. It’s 500 miles from Beijing to Pyongyang; nukes are out of the question. I still hold out hope the North Korean people will kill him and his top guys. We are being challenged all over the globe. We can’t start wars because countries disrespect us.

  21. Mark Bowden (the author of Black Hawk Down) wrote a pretty good article in the Atlantic a couple of months ago. I'd suggest it to anyone thinking about a military intervention in North Korea: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/07/the-worst-problem-on-earth/528717/ I don't disagree that we might end up there eventually. But, from my perspective, the lack of good options makes slowing the rush to war a good thing.

  22. Well, let me tell ya'll about a phone call I just got. I was referred to this dog rescue by my Vet and she had the lady call me. They are only located about 8 miles from my home and she has about 40 dogs mostly females all sizes and breeds that have been Vetted, spay/neutered, Microchipped and because I am a senior Citizen I have options. I am allowed to bring any dog I choose home for a test run and can keep the dog up to 1 month to make sure we match up. Also there is Zero adoption Fee. If the dog and I do not click I can bring it back and select another until we find what works. Now It will be about an hour before I go up there so wish me luck.
