Thanks for all the confidence building folks. Our first night was kind of uneventful. I went in the bed room like normal and turned on the TV to watch news for the weather, got my night meds out, got my needle for my Insulin from the fridge and all the time I have this small shadow not far behind. When I went to get my insulin I had a small piece of Pork Chop in it so I just took it out and gave it to Darby. I couldn't believe what she did with it!!! She ate it...........LOL Then I turned out all the lights and she was on her bed and I went to the bedroom to take meds and shot and stretch out for some weather and local news. You know that feeling you get when you feel eyes looking at you. Yep!! She snuck into the bedroom and was at the corner of my bed but never offered to jump up on it. I pretended to ignore her so she moves just a little farther out but very slowly. I finally sat up to get a drink of water from a bottle on the night stand and she acted scared and began to dart out of the room until I called her name and she stopped and I called her to me and petted her and talked to her and told her in was time to go to sleep and walked back to her bed wit her and she laid down. I went back in my room. And I turned out the small light and was reaching for the remote and caught her at the end of my bed corner again. I went through my clsoet and dug out and old worn out blanket and put it in the floor in kind of a corner and I turned and looked at her andshe went over and laid down on it without me saying a word. I petted her a few times and turn off TV. I normally wake up a couple times a night to make the pee runs. First one was about 2 AM and Darby followed me. I went back to bed and back to sleep with next rub about 5 AM and again she followed me and again I went back to sleep as I get up about 7:30. When I got up at 7:30 Darby was with me and when I got to the door to let her out I found she had Pee on the mat right in front of the door. Before saying anything I thought about all of what took place during the night. I got up twice and so did she. I went pee and I didn't think she might have to go and I could have let her out to go pee. So I did not scold her at all. She was standin and staring at me I guess waiting for the scolding that never came. I put the door mat outside and paper towels what little was on the floor along with some Mean Green. She watched every move I made and finally I ask her if she wanted to go out and she came to the door and I put her on the cable run and she went out. My fault, not hers. From now on at night if she comes with me when I get up I will let her out too if I go to the door and she wants out. She showed me last night after I had already closed the big door that she needed to go out so I know she knows to alert me she needs to go. Thing is she didn't know how to wake me up and the 2 times I got up I didn't offer so like I said my BAD!!!4 points

Very much calmer and very laid back. We are getting ready for bed so this will be another test but she just made another hurdle as she went to the door and then back to me and to the door again so I asked her if she needed to go out and she went to the door and waited till I put her on the cable. She went out for about 10 minutes and came back to the door and scratched to come in and is now laying asleep on her bed. That would indicate that she is pretty much house trained......3 points

We aren’t worried about his missiles getting here; we are worried about his artillery. He isn’t launching armed ballistic missiles. He’s thumbing his nose at us telling him he can’t have nukes. That doesn’t justify starting a war that will surely kill thousands of American Troops and possibly millions of South Koreans. If they figure out a way to take out his artillery without him being able to use it; our government would probably do it. But that probably won’t happen. We can’t, and won’t nuke them; even if they launched a nuke. We don’t need to. It’s 500 miles from Beijing to Pyongyang; nukes are out of the question. I still hold out hope the North Korean people will kill him and his top guys. We are being challenged all over the globe. We can’t start wars because countries disrespect us.2 points

I would expect an atmospheric test at some point in the near future if things keep progressing as they are. That will almost certainly result in a military response.2 points

That just isn't accurate, based on publicly known information on their weapons program. Here are some highlights: 1. They have put 2 satellites into stable polar orbits. They are higher than the space station. This is no small feet and only a handful of countries have the ability to do this. 2. While the distance laterally on their missiles isn't very far, it's the distance in height that is telling. If you throw a baseball straight up in the air and it reaches a height of 100 feet and lands 15 feet from you... Do you think you can throw the same baseball more than 15 feet at a 45 degree angle? 100 feet at the same 45 degree angle? Or much farther? 1&2 show the ability to lift a payload into orbit, and on a ballistic course that could easily impact CONUS. They're missing 2 more items needed to target us directly, 1. they need a reentry vehicle that can protect the payload, they haven't shown the ability to do this. 2. They need the ability to make mid course and reentry course corrections, to properly target city sized targets. BUT, the real threat is from a simple High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse, they have demonstrated all the need technology to pull off this type of attack, there is little that we could do to stop the attack, accurate targeting isn't needed, and the results would be devastating to the American people. One device detonated over Lincoln, Neb could disable all 3 power grids within the United States, for days, and would leave a large area of the country without power for months. It would kill far more people than a single missile hitting a major US city, which is pretty hard to do accurately.2 points

I'd prefer to make do without Chinese WalMart crap for a bit rather than sending my sons to die in Asia. Your mileage may vary.2 points

You can blame the previous 3 administrations for the China Syndrome. Clinton, Bush and Obama all gave China a green light to flood our markets with their products, many of them junk and now we have a President that is trying very hard to turn all that around and he has my full support in doing it. I was much happier when I was buying products that wore a lable that said Made In the USA and I am ready to go back to those days. We are China's biggest customer so lets put a large dent in their Pocket Books. Tell Walmart, Amazon, Jet, EBAY and all of the big warehouse stores and Brick and Motar stores to buy American.....................JMHO2 points

I'm of the opinion that the threat to the CONUS is minimal. They can barely even get one of their missiles to Japan, much less another 5000 miles here. South Korea and China should be the most worried. A missile failure on the pad or right after launch would make for a bad day.2 points

Freedom Group bought Para Ordnance, dissolved the company, and are now selling the Para double stack 1911s as Remington’s. It’s nothing new and will use Para double stack mags. If I wanted one, I’d try to find a used Para. After the disasters known as the RP9, RM380, and R51, I wouldn’t trust any handgun made by big green.2 points

Sounds like some folks want to bring back MacArthur. If we take action in NK it will be WW III. The only question is if the economic impact to this country and the world will be felt before or after the destruction of millions of people. NK having nukes has jack to do with what I just said, btw.1 point

Hell, it's only 35 miles from North Korea's heaviest artillery concentration to Seoul! We'd have to be very careful indeed with even conventional weapons targeting. - OS1 point

This thread is not about our Veterans, not about Wally World. God bless our Veterans, they are right here adding to this thread. This thread is about KJ and what he does and will do. That is IT. If you have nothing to contribute but negativity towards the military then let it go. It’s redicuolus to think that you would not stand in front of a gun pointed at any Verteran that has served your Country and not even blink or bat an eye. They have already done it for you.1 point

No Offense and I hope none is taken but I almost think it is not the veterans your out to get as bad as you are Walmart. I would bet you feel the same way about Mc Donalds and Vets going to work for them. Just from a few Vets I have known and spoke with that work at both companies within a year they have been placed in management positions with nice salary increases. I also know a couple that did the same thing at Lowes and Home Depot. I have never known anyone that started on the top floor of any company and worked their way down...............JMHO1 point

Let’s leave Wolly World out of this and try to understand what may happen. It will happen, it’s just a matter of who starts it. For those of you that have family in the military I understand, I also applaud you. The real question is why are we waiting on an idiot to do something first? His intentions are obvious, his country is starving and even his military has worms. Get real and deal with it. Avoiding the subject is erroneous.1 point

Well you and I differ in our definition reagrding our Veterans. If a man or woman served in our military and saw front line action or didn't action if they received an Honorable discharge they are all honorable and equal in the fact that each one of them deserves an opportunity for employment and if they choose Walmart that is their decision. Walmart is just like any other big corporation. They do offer advancements if one is deserved and each Vet working for them has that opportunity. If a Vet makes application at Walmart I commend them because they are not sitting at home but wanting to show people they can be an asset to society............JMHO1 point

The true PARA's were great. Loved mine. I have lost all respect for anything remington in the last few years. There quality in fit and finish went to heck in a hurry. I agree that finding a good P14-45 used Para would be much better than the new version from Remy. I used Paras in competition for a couple years and loved them. Never had issues.1 point

Keep in mind what a war in that area would do. Lots of people dying for something they actually want no part in. If KJ makes a mistake or they have a malfunction well the fallout is not going to stay within the NK borders. It is going to go to Japan. And then onwards. Not a good outcome. Best bet is a limited surgical type strike to remove the RocketMan from the face of the earth. Problem is the doors opened when that takes place. Killing a head of state because we disagree with he or she is a bad precedent. So how do we handle it? Personally, I would make the public statement that all BS and nonsense aside we will be shooting down any missiles that enter international airspace. We will also retaliate with great fury and vengence against any country that deploys a WMD. Not here is the line in the sand routine, but all out back to the stone age bombing. Non-Nuclear! NK has proven over and over that diplomatic means are not going to work. They have broken all of their promises and words over decades. So much for that idea.1 point

Dang it Bersa, that made me misty. You should take up writing short stories as a hobby. The fact that she barked at an "intruder" (at least that is how she perceived the landlord) indicates she is defensive and protective of "her" home and probably you as well. Another good sign.1 point

Not that it hasn't already been kicked around to death, but just what do you suggest, that wouldn't also at the least kill many thousands of non North Koreans? Including the 30K or more Americans there? - OS1 point

Ok so let me introduce ya'll to Darby. She is 4 years old mix of who know what? Only GOD knows is my guess. She has a history behind her but right now just an introduction. Yea she loves pork chops too and th second picture was after we ate and went for a walk aroud the yard and she came in and that is where she wound up in second picture.1 point

There's a pretty good ham forum over on ar15.com in the outdoors section. They have a few stickied threads and links that will help you. Also a pod cast called ham radio 360 that is pretty good. I can't see your location from my phone but there are several clubs around that will be glad to help you. Several of them has weekend classes and then test sessions.1 point

So, in that case you can either add a scope mount for the rifle - then add a scope, or you can go with a scope like above that will fit the grooves in the receiver. You could spend a lot or a little here. You could easily spend as much as the rifle is worth - but be able to move it to another platform later. Were it me, I’d probably go with a simple rimfire scope and go get some squirrels.1 point

Well, let me tell ya'll about a phone call I just got. I was referred to this dog rescue by my Vet and she had the lady call me. They are only located about 8 miles from my home and she has about 40 dogs mostly females all sizes and breeds that have been Vetted, spay/neutered, Microchipped and because I am a senior Citizen I have options. I am allowed to bring any dog I choose home for a test run and can keep the dog up to 1 month to make sure we match up. Also there is Zero adoption Fee. If the dog and I do not click I can bring it back and select another until we find what works. Now It will be about an hour before I go up there so wish me luck.1 point

And any decent very can get a job elsewhere that both pays better and provides a better future opportunity. I agree all veterans that have a honorable discharge are worthy of great respect. Problem is that there are a lot of people that got the old jail or military option and are not the best. Now most of us that have served know them easily enough. Sad but very true. I mean no disrespect to veterans as I have fought hard for our benefits for a long long time. As for Walmart hiring them I still believe they can do better. In fact I know they can. I am more than willing to work with a veteran that needs assistance if I can. I have assisted where and when I can be that driving them to appointments or country offices to assisting then in getting online. Now if a veteran wants to work wherever that is up to them off course. They should not however for a minute think they have to or should settle for Walmart.0 points
