The problem with negotiations with the left is that there is no give and take. It's the whole piece of cake principle again: https://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/2013/11/08/cake-and-compromise-illustrated-guide-to-gun-control/ The gun grabbers don't want to compromise, they want the whole cake, even if they have to take it one bite at a time.3 points

My gun rights are not up for negotiation. We already have enough gun laws that don't work, no need to pass more. There are done people out there who will not rest until no private citizen is allowed to have a gun. I don't care to bend to their wishes. Gun control is a low hanging fruit and the fruit is rotten. Getting rid of guns will not get rid of evil, and that is the ultimate goal of these people.3 points

Well my daughter and I bumped a deer walking in and got into the blind a little after 2. It was quiet. There was a large fox squirrel with a white face running around but he was the only thing moving until 4:30. We were sitting side by side but facing opposite directions so we could cover more ground. Right at 4:30 a deer just appears about 35 yards from the blind. I whisper deer. She slowly turns around and gets the scope on the deer. I am using my binoculars and see it is the same little spike I filmed Saturday morning. I tell her not to shoot because he is really young. We are watching him for a minute and she whispers deer and its another buck. This buck had come up from behind us and was about 20 yards out the left window. I tell her not to move, he is going to feed to right in front of you. He was focused on the small spike and paid the blind no attention. This was an older deer with a deformed rack. He had a nub on one side and a fork on the other. I told her she could cull that one if she wanted it. While waiting for a good shot she whispers deer again. She spied a tail about 60 yards away kinda in front of us and off to the left. Well the buck finally gave her a nice broadside shot and she squeezed the trigger. After the smoke cleared I could only see the spike running away. She said the other deer ran off to the right and it looked like it was running funny but disappeared. The last time I took her hunting she missed a big buck and was worried she had missed again. I reloaded and we were waiting a minute and then I see another deer. It was the one she spied earlier. It was doe and was feeding right to us. Then another deer ran up from behind us to right in front of us. it was the small spike that had just off. The doe feeds over and it is really small and we decided to let her grow up some. Well now it is getting dark and we still need to go look for the other deer but the spike and doe do not want to leave. Young deer are really stupid. We start making a little noise and they just look at us. They are only about 20 yards aways. I finally stand up and start zipping the all the windows up. We both get out of the blind and the two deer finally decide to leave. We walk over to where we though the deer was to look for blood. I forgot to bring a flashlight so we were both using our lights on our phones. We can't find anything. We are looking for little drops of blood and I come across a big spray of blood. Caitlin got real excited knowing she did not miss. We follow the trail for about 15 yards and there is a lot of blood being sprayed. I am looking down and Caitlin says there he is. You could just make out the white of his belly and tail We get over to him and he doe not have the one antler. it has broken off. She starts to look for it while I get ready to gut the deer. I then spotted the antler right next to a tree about 5' away. i guess he hit his head as he fell and broke off the antler. I think I will let the deer hang till this weekend before I process him. Then it is venison chili time.2 points

Hey guys, I'm looking to move to TN and I couldn't think of a better place to get some suggestions than a gun oriented site! Currently I'm in AZ. I'm from Pittsburgh and my wife is from Chicagoland, so we aren't strangers to temperate weather. I'm looking for somewhere in or near TN where I can get some land, but still be close to a decent city. We are in our mid 30's so we still have a lot of working ahead of us. I'm looking for somewhere I can walk out my back porch and have a shooting range, a water source (pond or creek), somewhere not too depressed or despondent. I'm looking for hopefully around 60-80 acres. Spending limit could go as high as $300k for the right property. I like red necks because I am one, hillbillies freak me out, if that makes sense. The people with "nothing to lose" type. Also, the area should be relatively low in crime and drug use. I'm the type that will drop everything if a neighbor needs help. That's what life is about. I would make a great addition to any community and I'm looking for the right place to plant myself. While I'm looking on where to move, I'm also looking on where to absolutely avoid. Thanks in advance for any help!1 point

Meh...It's just the luck of the draw I think. My father saw 13 deer this morning, and killed a decent 7 pointer; the smallest of 3 bucks he saw. I hunt a better place, but that's the way the ball bounces. Stay with it. You'll get a trophy one day.1 point

As far as gun laws go there no room left for negotiation. You either accept universal background checks along with limits on the type of firearms owned and their capabilities or you accept it anyway. What do gun owners have to “give up” to prevent that? Negotiation is giving and getting. There is not much left to give to prevent my two examples from being enacted....and they will be eventually.1 point

No guns, but we have a bunch of left over 7.62X25 ammo from my late friend's collection. I'll be at the Jackson gun show this weekend. It'll go cheap.1 point

Depends a bit on where/how it's cracked. Generally you just glue it back together. I like Titebond wood glue.1 point

Background check failures, mental health problems, and drug addictions don't murder people. The left could add layer upon layer of "preventative measures" like extra-rigorous background checks ad nauseam - and still there would be bad guys murdering people. Why? Because that approach fails to address the root of the problem: the individual bad guy, who must be 1) stopped, and 2) held accountable. The firearm is the only truly effective "preventative measure" because it cuts through the nonsense and addresses the problem at its fundamental source: the bad guy himself.1 point

I keep telling Dad that he needs to get his VA Id card so he can get the free meals. He says he'd rather pay full price than fight the lines! He really does need to get his ID card so he can use the VA if he needs to.1 point

Thats where I got my redneck engineering degree! I do not want to move to TN to have it be like it is anywhere else. I hate the people that do that crap. I want to move there for what it is. Thanks for the suggestions guys!1 point

If the $300k price range you mentioned is for land alone you might have some options for decent acreage. You might look into Chapel Hill and Culleoka. They are still kind of small town feel but starting to grow. As for snobby dogs needing grooming yes there are plenty of those out here (unfortunately my wife has one) so she should have no problem finding work grooming. There are even a couple ladies around that have tiny trailers they tow to people's homes to groom, and charge a premium for it. You mentioned being handy, there will be plenty of side work available as the majority of the people moving to middle TN don't seem to know or want to do things for themselves. I make decent money working as a handyman on the side, it's almost cringeworthy how simple some of the tasks are that people pay me to do. If people spent a little more time studying at the University of YouTube they could save themselves a lot of money.1 point

If you will accept a money order I will be happy to give you advice on selling on the internet. I will have my agent come by and give you instructions. The money order is for more than I will require so please keep your piece and just give my agent the rest after you cash it. By the way do you have pics?1 point

My Ruger story begins with trickery... A few years ago, my phone rings and the call id reveals an international call, it's my buddy calling from Afghanistan. Buddy as in high school, best man, etc. This particular conversation included, "what would be a cool revolver?" I like the size of the SP101, so my contribution was: 3" barrel (slight improvement when shooting .357 Better grips and front sight. Some improvement to the trigger. Months and months after the conversation, I went to visit while he was home. He hands me a box and inside is a beautiful 3" SP fresh from Gemini Custom and Andrews Leather holster. Bead blast finish, billboard removed. XS Big Dot front sight. Cut for moon clips. I swapped the grips, the 3" is sporting Trausch Grips. Bob, I'm not sure how to describe how quickly the cylinder rotates when you begin actuating the hammer for SA or trigger for DA for the next shot, but is seems amazingly fast. I teared up and gave him a hug when I noticed he had my initials engraved on the frame... Note, the 2" also came from Buddy in a trade1 point
