Am I alone in noticing the classified sections here have recently had a noticeable uptick in the quality of items for sale? I'm really working hard at sending kids to college and saving for retirement, but some of you are killing me!!!4 points

I was not familiar with this priming method either and had to do some research. I hope this helps. BENET-PRIMED - A common style of inside-primed car-tridge developed by Col. S.V Benet commander of Frankford Arsenal in the late 1860s. It was used extensively in early U.S. military ammunition. A copper or iron cup was secured inside the head of the case by characteristic crimps. This cup served as an anvil to enable the firing pin to activate the priming mixture and also to reinforce the head of the case.2 points

Middle Tennessee Shooters Club in Manchester will be hosting its monthly 3 gun match on Sunday November 5th. It will feature 5 fun and challenging stages. 100 rounds for each gun should get you through the match but it never hurts to bring extras. No slugs or slings necessary. You can pre-register on practiscore or at the range on the day of the match. Registration on match day is from 1100 to noon and we'll get started shortly thereafter. I can be reached at sumocrp@aol.com with any questions you may have.1 point

I am currently involved in a private party NFA transfer. The only reason that I am doing it in that manner is that the other party is one of my closest friends. I trust him implicitly, therefore I am comfortable buying a can from him. Anyone else outside of a core group of friends? Not going to happen.1 point

Feel free to link it or post it if you want. Those thoughts are just the sum of my rumination on the current state of things and don't represent any sort of copyrighted epiphany. I imagine many others have thought the same things I did long before I hammered that out.1 point

Reminds me of an old joke. A police officer pulls over an old lady for speeding and asks if she has any firearms in the car. She says yes. I've got a .38 revolver on my hip, a 1911 in the glove box, a shotgun and an AR15 in the trunk.. and oh yes, a pearl handled .25 on my ankle. The cops eyes get really big and he asks her: "Ma'am what are you so scared of?" The old lady smiles sweetly and says "Not a damn thing, young man."1 point

While I'm convalescing my wife won't let me do anything meaningful. So, if y'all will indulge my posts here abouts, a few cartridges: These are some variations of old .45 caliber rounds, all commercial: The notes below are the headstamps of the rounds. The nickeled case round is from one of the first boxes of ammunition I bought many years ago for my Colt New Service. Some .44s: The .44 Remington is unmarked, but the case is Remington, but I believe the round is a reproduction. And, sort of the progression from .44 R.F. to .44 Magnum: I believe the .44 S&W is in reality just a centerfire Henry. The first Smith & Wesson No.3 submitted to the Army was rimfire, and the Army returned it wanting a centerfire. According to what I have read, it the gun was simply changed to centerfire without changing the chamber dimensions. Early cartridges loaded for the US Army: Thanks for looking. Bob Wright1 point

Both the Martin and Benet primers were inserted through the neck of the empty case prior to charging and seating the bullet. This allowed a seamless cartridge, which the Army deemed more waterproof. However, at times the primer cup or anvil would be blown out into the bore, causing a bore obstruction. The Army finally went to a Boxer primer, but required a lacquer seal. The fit of the external primer cup in the primer pocket had proven to be sufficiently waterproof. Bob Wright1 point

I was very disappointed in the over hyped 100th episode / season premier. I could go into details but the main problems have been covered so far. I am always over critiquing these things. Then it hits me that I may have more than average knowledge on some of the props and situations they get into and most of all TWD is a fictional story made for entertainment.1 point

I agree with respect to the attitudes. They are still kids, but at the same time, they've got to grasp the idea that they have to be responsible for their own actions. As for the booting them from the team causing recruiting difficulty... the last decade of poor performance has taken care of that. I'd say that contributes significantly to the issues (such as the photo above) they have with the kids on the team now.1 point

With all of our precious republicans crying in Washington and pulling everything gun related off the table I am beginning to think Trump is the only sane one in Washington right now. I will say this, if our Republican controlled government does ANYTHING to harm my gun rights I will NEVER vote Republican again, ever. At least I will be able to recognize my enemy instead of having a "Wait and see" attitude to what kind of republican I helped vote into office. I hope all those who helped fill our government with "conservatives" do the same when they realize Washington doesn't have any conservatives. What we have now are 80's democrats, not conservative republicans. Seriously, we have control of EVERYTHING in our government yet we cannot get ANYTHING done, Washington is broke.1 point

Y'all just keep this in mind: When the fools that we as a country have elected regulate bump-fire stocks, they will have absolutely been given the keys to regulating how fast we can fire a semi-automatic weapon of any sort. Fully-automatic weapons have been regulated in this country since 1934 when the National Firearms Act was passed. They set the definition then of what was semi-automatic (one shot fired per trigger pull) and what was fully-automatic (more than one shot fired per trigger pull). Bump-fire stocks, while stupid and pretty much the domain of people who like shooting the dirt and throwing money out the window, are not fully-automatic weapons per the definition agreed upon in 1934. They still fire one shot per trigger pull. If this bull#### goes through and bump-fire stocks become regulated or outright banned, the podium will be prepped for the next round of arbitration. And the next. And the next. And it will keep going until you're allowed to have a single-shot, cap and ball musket ... if you're lucky... because that's what the crown feels is a safe rate of fire for us peasants.1 point

This video came to my attention yesterday and I think it's pretty much spot-on. It doesn't matter if you think bump-fire stocks are stupid or if you don't have a need for one. Our freedoms aren't based on NEEDS. Our freedoms are based on RIGHTS. You should have the right to buy ridiculous crap for your guns and waste ammo as inaccurately as you want. If you're OK with them banning bump-stocks because it's a stupid accessory for a gun that you'd never own, you're demonstrating the exact same logic the Elmer Fudd types use when they say "Who cares about AR-15's or handguns or magazines that hold more than 10 rounds? As long as I have my hunting rifle, I'm good." It's not about what YOU want or like or would buy or want to shoot. These leftist law-makers aren't really going to be satisfied with that one slice of the pie. There's always another slice until there's no pie left. As a note, this video is posted via Facebook, so you may need an account there to view it. I do, so it wasn't a problem for me to watch or paste it here. Your mileage might vary.1 point
