Visited an old Army buddy last week and ended up with this, a 11.4oz S&W 340pd. I have some Buffalo Bore and Speer ammo on order that should allow me to shoot this without breaking my hand, as well as prevent flame cutting or cylinder face erosion.3 points

There's some really nice areas north of Jackson, but south of Jackson is getting too close to Memphis for my taste. Have you ever lived in a rural area? The good thing is that is far away from everything. The bad thing is that it is far away from anything. For the most part, any place in Tennessee, away from the larger cities is a good place to live. Oh yeah...welcome back!3 points

Most likely y'all have different insulin concentrations. One of the common insulins used in dogs requires a U-40 syringe, while many (most?) human insulins require a U-100 syringe. If you use the wrong syringe, the dose will be dramatically different. U-100 insulin is more concentrated, so using a U-100 syringe with a U-40 insulin would require some conversion. So it is possible, but not simple to use different syringes.2 points

Ruger! Man! Excellent work. That was way better than I was expecting. Haha. Seriously, the production value and content I thought was really good. So, can't wait to see more and see you get a deer down too! Good job man. As for me and my hunting this year....since I'm being made to work weekens I won't be able to get out as much as I normally would. I have hunted twice so far. We cleared out an area underneath a powerline on our property. It's about 300-350 yards in length total. I saw 3 small doe at 200 yards and that's been it! Also had some neirbors dogs run down my section of the powerline too. That wasn't fun. :-( i also found a spot on our property that looked very "deerish" so I put up a game camera and haven't told anybody. :-) Turns out there was evidence of an old deer stand right where I set my camera up. So may be a pretty good spot. We shall see!2 points

First off I want to thank all the folks here for their kind and caring replies to what is taking place in my life right now. I also want to say Thanks to all the folks that have sent funds to help with Kaseys needs. I think I have finally been able to send each of you a PM thanking you but it is kinda hard connecting screen names to actual names so if I missed sending you a PM it was only because I don't know your screen name. If I missed any one please send me a PM.2 points

While I'm convalescing my wife won't let me do anything meaningful. So, if y'all will indulge my posts here abouts, a few cartridges: These are some variations of old .45 caliber rounds, all commercial: The notes below are the headstamps of the rounds. The nickeled case round is from one of the first boxes of ammunition I bought many years ago for my Colt New Service. Some .44s: The .44 Remington is unmarked, but the case is Remington, but I believe the round is a reproduction. And, sort of the progression from .44 R.F. to .44 Magnum: I believe the .44 S&W is in reality just a centerfire Henry. The first Smith & Wesson No.3 submitted to the Army was rimfire, and the Army returned it wanting a centerfire. According to what I have read, it the gun was simply changed to centerfire without changing the chamber dimensions. Early cartridges loaded for the US Army: Thanks for looking. Bob Wright1 point

I’m not the subdivision type. First off, I like to be away from people. Secondly, I don’t want a bunch of a-holes from the HOA telling me what I can & can’t do on my own property. Not for me.1 point

I'm in Clarksburg - Carroll county. Address is Huntingdon cause Clarksburg is too small for it's own address. It is definitely rural and has a school. K-12. Yep 1 school all grades. Most of the teachers are from here and kids get a great education at Clarksburg school. Averages about 20 people per graduation class.1 point

I can tell folks about deer hunting and dogs. About 4 years ago a buddy of mine was hunting on a friends farm and was sitting in his stand about 7AM when he heard some dogs barking way off in the distance. They were heading right in his direction and closing fairly fast. He saw a big buck run out of a field and into a thicket about 30 yards from him and it stopped. He has a pretty good shot at it and he could tell the deer was getting ready to bolt as the dogs drew closer so he dropped the deer and when the guns went off the barking quit and he could see the dogs running back in the direction which they came from. He was in the middle of Field dressing the deer when the game warden walked up to him. He told him that he is under arrest for hunting over dogs whic is illegal. My buddy told him they are not his dogs and he was not hunting over dogs. It took him about 3 hours to get the mess straightened out. The Game warden was in thata rea along with 2 others because several hunters had complained they thought someone was using dogs and they were there trying to catch who ever it is. The land owner finally showed up on the scene after the warden allowed him to call him. The land owner made it clear to the warden that my buddy was a friend of his and his truck was parked back at his house and he had been hunting his land for several years but the dogs just showed up this year and they are not his or the hunters. The warden finally cut him loose. He never found out if they caught the hunters using dogs but said it about ruined his day.1 point

Thank you for the offer Whisper. I appreciate it. I have that pdf, as well as a few others, like the old Tactical Response, or Andy Stanford's, "Dot Drill". I don't know if posting a pdf is allowed here or not. Or if it's possible. My "cyber-abilities" are limited... I would be more than happy to e-mail them to anyone interested.1 point

Good thing it was a Ford, id it was a Chevy it would be totaled and the deer would have walked away LMBO1 point

Not exactly "Firearm Related"...but it is Self Defense related and to quote Marshall Chuck Haggard (Agile Training and Consulting), it's a civilian self defense tool for use "Between a harsh word and a Gun". ASP Palm Defender OC spray. Adequate responsible training is highly recommended to understand the capabilities and limitations and appropriate use. A bit of exposure prior to using is also highly recommended. I've "caught" in an area spraying at work on well more than one occasion... Options are always a Good Thing! The Monkey Fist is simply another option.1 point

Every shot down the barrel does damage in varying amounts depending on what the load is. Like MacGyver said, if they just have lead shot there will not be nearly as wear on the barrel than every time you send a FMJ down the pipe.1 point

I live over in Henderson County (Wildersville) I also drive a truck all day long doing home delivery, by far the nicest area ive seen is around Three Way (Medina and Milan) There are good and bad parts everywhere. I am all over the place and I was looking for a normal housing track type housing Medina has it. I however wanted land so im out 22 miles from jackson and happy to be here.1 point

I'd look at Henry, Gibson, Carroll, Weakley, Benton, or Henderson counties. The cities I would be okay living in are: Paris, McKenzie, Medina, Huntingdon, Camden, or Lexington. I go to school at Bethel which is in McKenzie. Personally I would go for some area out in the county but that's just me. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk1 point

I live in Madison county. If I were you I would look into Chester county, south of Jackson. Or at the Medina area, just north of Jackson in Gibson county both have a better school system. RP Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk1 point

If the law in the state of Tennessee states that if you have a legal carry permit and you can carry it in a location such as this I would carry if I planned on attending it. It's about time the envelope is pushed to show these people that the state law trumps their postings. If folks keep backing down what good is the law? I carry is several parks around Gallatin that were or are posted when I take Kasey out to the park to let her run around some where pets are allowed.1 point
