  1. I had totally forgotten about this until yesterday while I was visiting with my mother. She has been going through old family photos and this caught my eye as I strolled by a table scattered with various stacks. My older sister is on the left, two cousins in the middle and me on the right with my Johnny Eagle Break Action Over and Under. I wish I still had that toy shotgun and maybe not the style but the amount of hair!! I guess I was destined to be a shotgunner at an early age but didn't figure that out until almost 40 plus years later. c.1967

  2. This guy has been walking by the cameras every morning about an hour before sunup the past two weeks. Haven't seen him before. There is a sizable rub and scrape about 20 feet to the right of the camera that I'm really hoping is his. Muzzle load can't get here fast enough.

  3. This weekend with the VP9. In case you want to try this event yourself, it's called Rastoff's Challenge, and it comes from a shooting instructor who hangs out at the S&W Forum. It's a 20-round exercise fired on a B-27 center. 4 shots at 3 yards 6 shots at 5 yards 6 shots at 7 yards 4 shots at 10 yards No time limit; take as much time as you want between shots, and for the entire string of 20 rounds. All shots must be inside the X-ring, i.e., no breaking the line. You must shoot the test cold (no warmups) and no more than once per day. It's not easy. I have probably shot it 20 times this year and this is my first passing score. Have fun, Whisper

  4. He had winning record in SEC 14 of his 16 full seasons. UT now has one, count it, ONE winning SEC year since he left. - OS

  10. It's still lead shot which is softer than the steel in your barrel. You're not going to hurt it.

  11. For anyone who would like to try shooting Rastoff's Challenge yourself -- don't spend money buying B-27 centers. I have a PDF that can be printed on 8.5x11 paper. Send me a private message with your email address and I'll send you the PDF. Be prepared to be made humble. This is a hard test. Cheers, Whisper

  12. Yes my friend...looks easy indeed...it's the mental part of something like this that will kick me in the butt! Mechanically this should be easy. But it'll tell on me quickly if my sight alignment, trigger control, and follow through are off that day. That's why I'm continually challenged by drills like this, the 1" target dots and The Dot Drill. I hope to try this one tomorrow or Wednesday.

  15. @Slappy So I've had very little action to film. Many trips out I didn't see anything and the Panasonic camera is hard for me to see. Maybe I'm just not used to it yet. I started using my GoPro instead and decided to put a video of this Saturdays clips together. I spent a couple hours last night trying to figure out why I couldn't find the editor on YouTube. Then searched on YouTube about it and they took down the editing software in September! Perfect timing for me right? Well I did a little research on editing software and decided on Shotcut. It's free and will do way more than I know how to do for sure. It took some trial and error for sure and my video or editing isn't that good. But I'm going to keep trying and hopefully the action in the woods picks up and I'll have more action to show. Anyway, here's my first ever YouTube video hunting. I hate that you can't see the little buck but he came in to a grunt call and was snorting almost like he was coughing. Came in acting like he was ready to start some trouble. It was pretty dang funny. I snort wheezed at him and he didn't come back, so I reckon he wasn't feeling as froggy as he thought he was. It was entertaining for me for sure. Hope to have more videos to share soon.

  18. I have no love or hatred for Tennessee football, so I tend of view the team with little emotion. No coach in their fifth year can hide from the results. Butch Jones has always come across to me as the worst stereotypes of a used car salesman- lots of great talk about a flawed product that you buy at your own risk. Rest assured, there have been, and will continue to be staff in the finance office of the UT athletic department working spreadsheets on his buyout. The only question is how fast they need to action it.

  19. I mostly agree with this but dammit all to hell I’ve been hoping for a better next season for years and am getting about tired of it.

  22. My Ruger Bisley Vaquero is not only one of my favorite plinking pistols, it is one of my most accurate pistols.  It has a transfer bar so you can load six rounds and it is Ruger tough.  I hope one day to get a Colt SA.
