Middle Tennessee Shooters Club in Manchester will be hosting a 5 stage falling steel match on Sunday October 8th. Round count will be approximately 150 but bring more ammo than that in case you miss. We will recognize the following divisions: production, any iron sighted pistol up to ten rounds. Limited, any iron sighted pistol with 140mm mags. Open, any dot pistol with no mag limits. Pcc, pistol caliber carbine in 9mm, .40, or .45 no restrictions on accessories or mags. Standard shotgun, semi auto shotgun with 9 rounds at start. Manual shotgun, pump shotgun with 9 rounds at start. Open shotgun, mag fed or speed loader shotguns no limitations on accessories or mags. We will most likely limit it to entry in one division except for those who show up for set up the day before at 0900. Set up help on Saturday can shoot two divisions. Every one is welcome to come help. There will be a link for early registration on practiscore, look back here for the link. You can also sign up at the range the morning of the match. Sign in will be from 1100 to noon and we'll get started shortly thereafter. Match fee is $20 for non members and $15 for members. I can be reached at sumocrp@aol.com with any questions.1 point

Finally got my hands on a Garand. I have actually had this rifle for several months, just now posting it. I have wanted one for as long as I can remember! As far as I can tell, the receiver's SN dates it to a 1953. Unfortunately it is not a matching numbers rifle, I still thoroughly enjoy it however. I still have yet to shoot it. Overall it seems like it will be a great shooter though, the bore is in excellent shape. I do not plan on restoring or refinishing the rifle in any way. I love the way it looks with all its little character marks and imperfections. Just thought I'd share one of my current favorites in the safe with you guys!1 point

Well we got it up and running. We ended up doing a DIY venting system. This should hold us over till the Glowforge filter is ready at the end of the year. This unit will cut and engrave all sorts of materials: wood, laminate, paper, cardboard, acrylic, plastic etc. It will not cut or engrave metal. It will mark the metal if it has been anodized, like MacBook laptops. All of their cases are anodized. What is does is remove the coating so you can see the image. We have been playing around with 1/4" wood, cardboard and some acrylic. Here are some pics of some of our test files: The Darth Vader is acrylic and then next two are blank coasters, cardboard and cork, we engraved. Here is a video of it cutting our logo out of 1/4" wood. This is going to be a fun little tool. The possibilities are endless for what you can do with this.1 point

I've been wondering about that. Seems like a big money production to shove into a side distribution channel. If that's the case, I'll probably be missing it. Not going to sit and watch TV on my phone, iPad, or PC when I have a monster TV next to it. I never have been able to get my Comcast OnDemand working with my TiVos, so there's that.1 point

KahrMan's right. Channel 06 is where you'll find it. WZTV is the local FOX-TV affiliate and they air "The Orville" on Sunday nights. Like KahrMan said, it's on 06 and 1006 for the Nashville area Comcast. The difference between the two is that 06 is standard definition and 1006 is high definition. You can add High Definition to your Digital Starter if you want. I think it's about $8 or $10/month. You won't get any more channels, but you'll get almost all of them in both standard and high definition. For FOX, you'd get both 06 and 1006. They're showing the same exact thing, but if you have an HD TV, it's a huge difference in picture quality. As for FX on channel 70, that's not FOX. FX is a different network. It's owned by 21st Century Fox, but it's a different channel than FOX with different shows.1 point

Ok thanks, I get 06 which is Fox Channel WZTV 17 local channel but don't get 1006. I have the digital starter package which is not high end package. I will check 06 on Sunday and see if they have the program I am looking for. Thanks again my friend. Bersa1 point

The most common is Greek HXP and is very good stuff. That is what the CMP has been selling for years. It is non-corrosive and usually of '60-'70's manufacture. American made surplus is pretty much gone. If you do find any and it was made before 1953 it is corrosive. Korean is hit or miss. Much of it is corrosive and not very highly regarded. British Kynoch is corrosive. There was some Iranian stuff floating around a few years ago but I forget whether it was corrosive or not. That's all I know about and the chances of coming across any of those, except the HXP, are kinda slim. If you can't get HXP, just buy some of the PRVI M1 load from Aim https://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=AP3006FMJ150&name=Prvi+Partizan+PPU+30.06+150grn+FMJ+20rd+Box&groupid=27. You might even be able to find some Prvi locally.1 point

Opened my bottle of Elijah Craig tonight. First time I have tried it and I really like it. This is going to become one of my regulars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro1 point

Mine are still in the "my feeder" mode. I put out a couple additional feeders so more of them could fill up.1 point

Almost all liquor store Private Selections are good values. In most stores that I frequent, the Private Selections are usually cheaper than the regular product, and many that are normally batched products become single barrel products by being a Private Selection. Buffalo Trace and Elijah Craig are batched products that are found as single barrel Private Selections in many stores and are usually priced between $25-$30. Four Roses is a good value, but I actually think Knob Creek Single Barrel Private Selections are the best value in bourbon today. At 120 proof, 12 to 13 years old and priced below $40 per bottle...that's a screaming bargain in today's market. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

Cable tv is going the way of the dodo bird. My 2 teenagers watch absolutely NO tv...they're just not interested in it. They watch YouTube channels and streaming video so they need the Internet service but no tv shows.1 point

I cut the cord with Uverse. That was a satisfying phone conversation to make when I finally made up my mind that I've had it with paying $180/month! It was an adjustment at first. But after a few weeks of cold turkey tv watching, I'm much better off and get to keep more of my money every month.1 point

I agree that using the monitoring service offered by the hacked company doesn't make the most sense. I'm not signing up for it, would never trust it. I keep a close eye on our various accounts and credit through Credit Karma but think I am going to check on LifeLock or similar services after this hack.1 point

In all fairness to Comcast; they don’t have any competition. They also have government protections. That’s how they get by with the worst customers service in the industry and doing whatever they want. If competition was allowed Comcast would have to drop their prices. And if they did drop their prices to reasonable rates Direct, Dish, AT&T and all the rest would be gone because everyone would be on Comcast. I’ll have to get something else when I retire; I been a Comcast customer pretty much since they started. Of course they won’t care about that; they are more interested in giving deals to new customers than taking care of the ones that put them where they are.1 point

1. Why? They aren't firearms. They are an accessory and should be treated as such. 2. No one is needing the government to solve it. We need the government out of it. You are backwards.1 point
