The lack of finger grooves alone is a huge improvement. I heard the finish is supposed to be "better" which would be a good thing. The new flat finish they put on the Gen 4's is horrible.2 points

I think they should cordon off an area, dump a few truckloads of Antifa in there, and let them beat the living #### out of each other. In fact, they should do it in every town.2 points

Nobody here actually owns guns. Guns kill people. Welcome to the forum Mr. Bloomberg.2 points

Ok, Kasey finally came back in the house for a snack lunch and I was able to get fresh pictures of her............lol. That bed she is laying on is a memory foam matress and her favorite quilt which I am not allowed to wash. Made that mistake about 3 years ago and she would not sleep on it till I took it out and rolled it around in back seat of Jeep till it smelled like her again. As you can tell she is a little over weight. According he Vet she should weigh about 32 lbs and she weighs 72 yesterday.2 points

I would be very hesitant to use any product on a leather holster that isn't specifically recommended by the manufacturer of that holster. Many products that may well protect leather in general may have the unwanted effect of softening and therefore loosing the fit, and therefore retention, of your holster. I've had and/or have holsters from Kramer Leather and Milt Sparks and simply keep them clean. My experience in easing up that "stiffness" is many, many repetitions in dry fire. Many, many. Some holster makers recommend putting your handgun in a thin (think Ziplock) bag (empty of course) and slid the bagged gun into the holster and let it sit to somewhat loosen the fibers...I've never done so nor saw the need. Just an opinion... I know we have some folks on here that make some incredible leather holsters and hopefully they'll chime in with the SME advice they possess and that I lack.2 points

Glad to hear Kasey had a good prognosis. I too have a couple of geriatric dogs that I spend more on their daily meds than my entire family combined. What I spend in a month on them would easily buy me a very nice shoot'n iron monthly. But like you say they are family and I would do the same for one of my children if insurance did not cover it. Does her left ear always stand up and the right one lay down or just a coincidence in the photos?1 point

With the rigid state exemption statute currently, can't be any local ordinances that apply, and I certainly don't know of any state law that allows it either. (see later post -- forgot about the new metal detector clause in 1359). But it's pretty much like John and Mike said, who's gonna sue? Though TFA did get involved with the "guns in parks" thing in a general principle suit , that's a rarity, and of course it costs money. And besides perhaps a "you were bad" censure, there's not likely any payoff for a win, unless you can prove real damages. - OS1 point

More ammo added to the stockpile, some Magpul AK PMags and another IWB holster ordered from TT Gunleather for my P07. Oh, and a CZ 75/P07/P09 "shoe" for my MGW Sight Pro tool. I figure sooner or later I'll end up replacing the sights on the P07 with something more akin to what I normally prefer.1 point

Kasey use to love Frisbee in her younger days and she will still play ball these days....................for about 5 minutes.....................LOL. She will still chase squirrels for about 10 feet and Rabbits about the same distance and then comes in and sleeps for an hour or so but I figure that is what most old fat folks do so she it acting true to form............LMAO1 point

Can the city legally ban weapons in an otherwise public area? Probably not. Rogero has never concerned herself with minor little details like that. At for the protestors... those morons only want attention. What if there was no one for them to protest to? Get every living soul to vacate the "cordoned off area". No news crews, no counter protestors, no general public, no one. I bet they'd get bored and leave.1 point

Asking how many guns someone owns goes right in there with asking a woman how much she weighs. Its just bad form.1 point

In the interest of fairness, I made another monument to the KKK/White Supremasists about 20 minutes later. (I ate a lot last night lol)1 point

I bet she does not do it as easy as you do!!!! When I first began using this new Vet back about 7 years ago on our first visit the Vet took a picture of her skeleton to compare what she should weigh verses what she did weigh at the time and she say Kasey's proper weight should be about 29-31 lbs and that she was 40 lbs over weight. She asked me what I fed here and about 1/2 way through the list she was laughing and said ok , I get the idea! Shes a Junk food Junkie and I said well it's not really junk food. Chicken Breast cooked up in a crock pot for her suppers along with a couple grilled burgers instead once in a while. She would not eat dog food at all period. I spent a small fortune buying dog foods and she would turn her nose up at everything. Ended up giving them to friends that had normal dogs. For her snacks I buy 1 pound bags of Jacks Links Turkey Jerky and Turkey Sticks and she does love Alpo Snaps dog biscuits but on the little bites. I made the mistake of buy the big bites by accident and she would not eat them so they went to friends also. The Vet told me that the stuff I was feeding her does not seem to be hurting her and she was healthy back then except for being fat so she didn't tell me to change anything but just cut back a little on the snacks. I was shocked when I added that medicine to her Chicken last night and she hogged it down. Normally I can't get her to eat anything with medicine in it. The Vet said that most dogs will eat this because it actually has an appetite enhancer in it and dogs love it. Well will see how long she goes before she realizes I'm putting it in her food and she turns her nose up at it. Only time will tell.1 point

I'm already making plans for 2024, and hoping I'm still alive for 2045. Once they're back in stock and at normal prices, I think I'll pick up some Celestron EclipSmart binoculars. Even without an eclipse, they'd be good for looking for sun spots and maybe catching a glimpse at a big solar flare around the edge.1 point

I picked up a set of Trijicon HDs for my now finished BFG Glock 19..1 point

If it wasn't for the tragic boating accident, I would own over 40. I don't know what a resident of NYC would do, except move.1 point

You can wet the inside of the holster slightly and put your gun in wrapped in a ziploc bag or saran wrap. Leave it to sit overnight or so.1 point

Well Vet visit is over and her vet figured out that she had glands that were full and they emptied them and she said that they did a test that showed a bacteria in his intestinal tract. She provided me with a 30 day supply of probiotic supplement to be put in her food to correct the issue. She got her first dose of it with her supper and will get 29 more in next 29 days. Keeping fingers crossed it works. Thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers. I know some folks may think it's just a dog but she has been with me for going on 17 years come November. Many of my buddies tell me she has me trained really good to do her bidding.............LOL. I can't really argue with them as she is quite spoiled for sure.1 point

What is your budget? It's hard to go wrong with a 1100/1187. A 20g 1100 in the full size frame with a 26-28" barrel would be great. As far as semi autos I think I see more 1100s than anything else at the field. The Beretta 390/3901/391 are also very solid SA that hold their value well and parts are still available. Their next generations SA (A300/A400) are also very solid and the field grade A300s are <$700. I shoot Beretta 682s. A Gold X-Trap combo and a Gold E Sporting but mostly only shoot Trap so I like heavy long barrel guns. Not the greatest for skeet. But a used 686 can be had for 1300-1400 and will last a lifetime. Down the road you can get tubes for it and shoot anything down to 410. I started with 1100s but got tired of cleaning a gas semi auto. Above all it has to fit or you will have to pay to make it fit. Like any gun purchase trying as many as you can before buying is important.1 point
