Have a tag for Montana this late fall, Old Man Hunt mid November. Outfitter asked what I shot, I replied 7mm Rm Mag. He asked if I had something bigger, I replied no and why. He said bears hear a shot at that time of year, they hear a dinner bell in its place. I have built a .338-06 AI on Savage donor, 24" PacNor barrel: Parent Round on left, fireformed on right: 50 rounds of fireforming, 200 gr. Speer, Reloader 15, taking no particular care for other than sighting in and getting fireformed cases:2 points

Cooper-Young is a very hip, trendy part of town with lots of bars and restaurants. It is considered part of Midtown and as they say down there "Midtown is Memphis". The houses are older and I personally would not have a problem staying in one for the weekend if it was a nice one. Many of the houses in that area are rentals and somewhat rundown so know what you're getting into. One the other hand, many are nice and well maintained. The closer to the intersection of Cooper and Young the better off you are. It gets sketchier as you move out from that centerpoint, especially to the south towards Southern Ave. Every type of person you can imagine lives and hangs out down there, so it's kind of interesting if you're into people watching while sitting outside having a beverage. Do not be surprised if you hear gun shots at night. It is also directly under one of the major flyways into the airport so there is jet traffic constantly (think FedEx). CY is one of those parts of Memphis that is "on the border" of some really rough parts of town (to the south and a bit to the west south of the railroad tracks) but I think that district is fairly safe, again close to the center. Kinda hard to explain, but it's a Memphis thing. It's close enough to downtown that you can be there in about 15 minutes. I actually grew up a little over a mile from there in Central Gardens, an area that has not changed one bit it at least 50 years....except all the houses are now ridiculously priced.2 points

I have numerous steel/alloy frames CZ's with one being a PCR with a full going over by Cajun Gun Works. A complete novice could shoot this gun well. Amazingly easy to shoot.2 points

Picked this up from my local FFL today... CZ P-07 Gen 2 I was pleasantly surprised to find that it also came with the new CZ P-10C compatible magazines with the ambidextrous mag release notch in the front of the tube, and the red followers.1 point

I had one of these my dad bought me when I was a kid. He got rid of it for some reason and I always wanted another because it was such a fun little pistol to shoot. Finally picked up another yesterday. Stainless Ruger 22LR/22WMR New Model Single Six: Who else likes these? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Not quite yet but if Ashley Judd moves back home to Franklin that will be when it will happen. I bet her mother is ashamed of her daughter. Her mother is a great and proper lady and her youngest daughter is a tramp............JMHO1 point

We are excited and honored to have been selected! You heard close to correct, only 100 ranges nationwide were selected and I believe, though I could just not have all the details, the only range in the Nashville area to be selected. We hope you can drop in for the fun!1 point

If your total gear weight (rifle, pistol, ammo, water, etc.) is under 25% of your body weight you should sign up for Race Class. Everyone will be weighed at registration and just before they run just so we keep it all fair. Glad to have another newbie to this format, and feel free to ask if you have any other questions!1 point

We plan on building the retirement fund up, but going to treat ourselves to a nice new toy first lo Nothing huge, My wife wants to take the bathtub out and put in a new shower stall in our bathroom, and I've been wanting a new/slightly used 4 wheeler since I sold mine a few years back when we had to get my mother out of some financial trouble she got into when her dementia had her bouncing checks all over Greeneville. Nancy won't let me get to crazy lol she is that little voice in my head that keeps me in check when my eyes get big sometimes lol.1 point

Getting out of debt is a big deal! By all means, treat yourselves. But... if you don't force some of that surplus into something useful (house needs new roof fund, oh crap the AC just died fund, kids gonna go to college fund, etc.) it'll disappear a lot faster than you think.1 point

Not trying to get personal about your finances but you should consider throwing some of that towards retirement. The stock market is going HAM right now. I've got an IRA from my last job that I haven't put a penny into this year but it has still grown by several thousand. My wife's 401k has a double digit rate of return right now as well.1 point

It always feels good when you accomplish something like that. Congrats.1 point

Welcome aboard. I'm a big fan of Unique and have used it for a bit over 30 years now. We, as a group, cast, Powder coat, and handload. Our bullets wind up at around 130 grs. I've found, as others have, that lead bullet load data is a good starting point. The powder coated bullets have much less drag/resistance compared to jacketed bullets. Big Question? Do you have a chronograph? I find a chrono an essential safety tool for handloading. One of my old time favorites for handloading jacketed 124 gr 9mm rounds is/was a compressed load of 5.7 grs of Unique. Those loads mimicked my then carry ammo of 124 gr Black Hills +P using Gold Dot bullets as far as perceived recoil and POA/POI. These chrono'ed at around 1150 fps. But that charge would be too much for a powder coated bullet imho. I can achieve the same velocity using 4.3 grs of Unique with a PC 130 gr 9mm bullet. A current very mild and inexpensive load we use for practice, and I've run it through a couple of classes, is 3.6 grs of Unique with our 130 gr PC bullet. This load chrono's at about 1020 fps. If competition is a concern, this load yields a 133 power factor. I personally like a bit more pep and will load 4.3 grs of Unique at times. FWIW we run these loads through at least 10 different Glocks (models 26 through 34) with no cycling or functioning issues. Just so you know the above are not recommendations and are just my observations and experience. Starting with lead bullet data from a reliable and trusted source, chrono the loads, and watch for signs of over pressure is a decent place to start. Be safe good Sir.1 point

I purchased a Knight's Armament 5.56 QDC CQB suppressor from AV Guns on Tuesday, the F3 was approved on Wednesday, and I received it at my dealer this morning. That's the fastest F3 approval I've had to date. Knight's Armament Company (KAC) SR-15 MOD 1 x 5.56 QDC Suppressor1 point

I don't know how this was kept so quiet but the Discovery Channel is going to be filming one of the shows with the 405 racers at ThunderValley beginning on 22nd of this month and the public is invited to be there for the filming. I wish I could attend but to far away for me but you folks that live up that way and enjoy the show may want to attend. I will post a link giving all of the scheduling and information. I try to never miss an episode. One of the shows I enjoy on Discovery Channel. http://www.bristoldragway.com/get_tickets/discoverys_street_outlaws_at_bristol_dragway/1 point

Insurance company isn't going to have access to your medical records to know what your cholesterol levels are, they will only see the charges submitted for the tests performed... not the results. HIPAA. I would assume it's just a paperwork mishap of some sorts, maybe an old medicine that was refilled or someone just clicked on the wrong name... could be a million things, but I doubt it is a conspiracy of sorts and your insurance company can not prescribe medications.1 point

I lived in NYC for 10 years and NYS for 30 years... I quit my job, sold my home and moved after SAFE became law.... ....one time upon returning from a hunt, a thief was walking off with my double shotgun he picked up from the secure bag claim area at Kennedy Airport.... Pistols in NY have always been very evil tools reserved for cops, judges and their friends... ..you cannot touch a pistol in a retail store by law unless you have a valid handgun permit... ...in Westchester NY you must have a trigger lock on all guns each time you leave your home...0 points

Just know that you won't be fixing up that shotgun in style because you won't know what to wear to be a stylish man on the go.....I mean seriously.....without my magazine covers and pages, you'll probably do something stupid like wear a fedora with a dinner jacket. Or worse, wingtip shoes with a tuxedo!0 points
