  1. @btq96r and @No_0ne ... and anyone else who found the white color scheme to be terrible on the eyes: Scroll to the bottom of the page. Look for the "Themes" link. Select it and then select "TGO Night Owls" from the options. I hope that helps a little. I'm almost done with the other Theme for the rest of the crowd.

  6. Get a wire feed MIG, they are so simple to use. You set a couple of dials and squeeze a trigger. I have a Hobart 140 and it works great. I can do really thin stuff as well as stuff that is well over 1/4" on a single pass. You can use MIG welders with gas or with a core if you don't want to fool with gas. With gas the welds need nothing, no clean up at all. I use the Hobart several times a week and have yet to have a problem. I also have a TIG machine and use it some as well but for 90% of the stuff I am welding I use a MIG because it is so simple. TIG give you a lot more control and is almost like a acetylene torch. I have used stick welders and they leave a lot to be desired compared to MIG.

  7. That was an expensive range trip. S&W M&P 22 Compact. She can load it herself, work the slide herself and clear malfunctions as the range rental was filthy and would fail to feed every dozen or so rounds. After 100 rounds (and our hour) she begged me to buy one for her. She was grumpy when I told her we were going shooting, but after she beat me at Battleship (with highly skewed rules that changed every shot...) she has been pretty pleased with herself.

  8. That had to be the best car chase ever. I know most folks like Steve McQueen in Bullet and it was a great chase! Another chase that you don't hear folks speak of was in the movie Vanishing Point.................JMHO

  9. I can't believe that no one has mentioned Printers Alley which is all clubs and bars and many of the older Country stars owned clubs in the alley. It has been around since the mid 40's!!! Those clubs were open for business long before lower Broadway became a Honky Tonk Strip...................

  13. Check out the Miller 215 Multimatic. As it's name suggests it is a multi process welder; MIG, Stick, DC TIG. Runs off of 120 or 240. Very user friendly for the novice welder and very easily tuned for the more experienced welder. It is my smallest welder but it gets used quite often for jobs you are describing that don't warrant firing up the big stuff. Cyberweld.com frequently has decent rebates going. For general farm/field use I would recommend getting yourself a roll of Hobart or Harris .035 Flux Core wire along with some quality 6011 and 7018 welding rods. For infrequent use buy rods in small, sealed containers as they (particularly the 7018) go to crap once their flux has absorbed moisture. If you are ever in the Columbia, Spring Hill, Franklin area drop me a message and I'll let you check out the 215 and try to answer any questions you might have.

  14. Avoid cheap mig welders. Generally, you get what you pay for. Welding isn't super hard to do, but it is hard to get good at.

  16. For general use get an AC/DC. And sign up for a class or get with someone to show you a little. I welded all my working life. It only takes about 15 min. to learn, and a life time to perfect it.

  20. 1. Why? They aren't firearms. They are an accessory and should be treated as such. 2. No one is needing the government to solve it. We need the government out of it. You are backwards.

  21. I received a phone call from K-Var two weeks ago to remind me that I had a FM VEPR 47 on layaway. I placed the Vepr on layaway when they initially launched and I completely forgot that I did. They allowed me to keep my deposit and pay off the balance. I want to thank K-Var for squaring me away when I had lost all hope of purchasing a FM Vepr at the pre-panic price of $999.99. by

  22. I just got back from Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. They are expecting 300,000 visitors to the park for the eclipse. If you go there make sure you have a full tank of gas and food in the car. They don't think they will have enough gas for everyone even though they will fill the storage tanks full before the event. Restaurants and stores will probably run out of food too.
