I am going to admit right at the start that I am not sure when I am going to do this, but it will be soon. The authors of our forum software have released a new version that has some compelling features that I believe TGO would benefit from. A complete overview of what's new is available at the following link, but I will also mention a few things specifically that I think will be nice for us to have. https://invisioncommunity.com/news/invision-community-42-r1030/ 1. Clubs - Clubs are a brand new way of supporting sub-communities within your site. Many people have requested social group functionality in the past and Clubs are our implementation of this concept. 2. Reactions - Offer more fine-grained sentiments towards content than a simple up/down or 'like'. They are now in common usage on social networks, and so users expect to be able to be more nuanced in their response to something they see. 3. Improved content embedding - This will make adding pictures, videos, etc. to your posts a little more painless. Not only are there improvements for photos linked from our own TGO photo gallery, but also improvements to the way that links to TGO calendar entries look. 4. Fluid Forum View - This is an entirely new feature that allows you to view content from all of our categories in one activity stream. I will admit that the first time that I saw it in use on the IPBoard support site, I was a little puzzled with what advantages it really offered, but the more I played with it the more I liked it. Basically it gets you straight to the forum content in "one view" and lets you skip the structure of the sub-forums, almost the way that viewing New Content does today. There are quite a few other improvements being made in the Version 4.2 software so I would recommend just clicking the first link in this post if you're a geek at heart and want to know more. I can't promise that we will use every new feature on TGO, but I will implement as many of them as makes sense.3 points

Give Zander insurance a call, they will do the shopping for you & you would have an idea of what is available before you speak to your agent. I will never get sucked into staying with the same insurance company for no reason, ever again. Just as everyone says, it seems like the longer you stay, the higher it goes.3 points

What they really are thinking is that car would be more expensive to repair/replace I bet. They can't say that though.2 points

Hehe, Oh, Tennessee regs and ins... How I miss you. Stagger your fleet so you don't have to pay regs for six vehicles at once? Not in Kentucky. Your birthday is in July, ALL of them are due in July. Oh, and lets go ahead an add a property tax to each vehicle as well. Oh, you sold that vehicle two years ago and the new owner never registered it, you better pay those taxes too, or we won't allow you to renew ANYTHING. Guess homeboy will be pissed as hell when he finds out that I 'junked' that title. I used to complain when I paid ~90 a year, per vehicle regs in Knoxville. Kentucky I am dropping between $150 and $200 a year, per vehicle. Then there is the fact that my auto insurance has more than doubled. Same vehicles, the day I moved my insurance went from $90 a month in Tennessee to $205 a month. Even with good credit. As it sits now, we shop our insurance out every year. I pay my motorcycle insurance by the year. $300. My Celica is an antique and I have been through several policies that refuse to allow her any status, even though she sits in my garage and sees <100mi a year. We went independent this year. Home, auto, bike. We are saving over $1500 a year compared to our last policy. I think we have Progressive for the bike and AAA for home and auto. With considerably more coverage that we did with Allstate or Geico before them.2 points

Yes it is! Anyone moving from KY to TN will give an amen to this. When I first moved, I was able to get insurance for both cars & a motorcycle for the same monthly price I was paying for one of the cars in KY. Same cars, no changes, even the same insurance provider, except the residence changed from KY to TN.2 points

You're thinking about moving because of a $5 tag increase??!!? Tennessee is among the lowest overall taxed states in the nation.2 points

Did anyone know this gentleman? Does anyone know anything about the auction company selling this collection? https://www.estatesales.net/TN/Germantown/38139/1628484 WOW!!!!!1 point

It would seem, IMHO, that the FNH FNS series of pistols has to be the closest thing to a "perfect" pistol. The 9mm version is Glock 19 size with 17 capacity, the grip texture and angle are what they should be, they are fully ambidextrous... why is this not the most popular pistol on the planet? Or is it, and I just don't know it?1 point

Since he likes his Jennings, I have a Rohm Rg-10 that I could be persuaded to part with for $300 It's all steel. Well, it's some kind of metal anyway. The safety is that it only sometimes works, and when it does, it will safely NOT hit what you're aiming at. My dad bought it when he was a broke college student back in the 1970s. We all laugh about it now. I know it's worthless, but even if I was offered money for it, I'd never get rid of it. It's kind of the dirty Santa gift of family heirlooms around here. My dad and I had it out at Stones River range one day just for laughs and the guy in the lane next to us asked us to stop firing it because it was shaving so much lead off the bullets and spraying it into his shooting bay. What a piece of crap.1 point

Wait til you try the FNS-9c. I've had them both but the compact stayed. It's the best double stack carry gun I've ever owned. I've posted a review before. I'll see if I can dig it up. Love me some FN.1 point

You guys complaining about TN fees have no idea what it's like in other states. When I moved to FL in 2010 it cost $450 to register my Acura. Loudon County TN where I live now is only $30. There is a reason why you see a million rental cars registered in Blount County TN.1 point

If he doesn't care more than $50 for his own life... you're wasting a lot of energy. He's in HVAC? I'm guessing he has plenty of money. A small, all metal 9 is gonna be difficult to find.1 point

I've had mine a year or so and it's how you describe. Finding any holster I liked seemed problematic but has been fixed. The grip texture starts wearing on me after about the sixth magazine though. Spot on with the Glock comparison. I posted a picture on here comparing the G23 and the FNS 9. It probably faded away when Photobucket changed things up. For me this firearm fits everything I am after.1 point

Teach you to move to KY. LoL There is as reason there is as lube named after it.... I spent too much time in that state working. It would take the end of th e world to make me move there. Off-topic, I know. I have looked at other insurance companies, but have never found as much better price for the same coverage. That is unless I go with one of the cut rate internet places. I have had a few house and car claims in the last 10 years and my insurance has been nothing but accommodating to get things fixed.1 point

Plank tile can have a slight bow, laying off set 1/3 or 1/4 "hides" it. Also decide if you want a consistent brick pattern or random pattern. Setting 1000 sf of residential tile with odd cuts, assume 1 day of prep, set 100-300 sf max per day, grout following day, clean 4th day. With full access. Thats 2 weeks or so. This is THE tile forum. I was member when I was in the industry. http://www.johnbridge.com/vbulletin/index.php Keep this in mind for tile work: Fast + cheap won't be good Fast + good won't be cheap Good + cheap won't be fast Good hunting, good tile men are as scarce as Buffalo1 point

I've had a few guys tell me $3ft and then we never heard from them again. We had a guy come out last night and take a look. He charges $3.5/ft which I feel is fair. I'm waiting on an itemized quote.1 point

Having been to several estate sales of higher caliber they usually have a lottery to see who gets in and when. However I didn't see anything mentioned about that here. The entire ad is void of any useful information beyond the preview IMO.1 point

I'm going in to see what my agent has to say before I look at changing. I will stay with them this time while I shop around. She called me Yesterday to see if I was coming in and while she had me on the phone she said she wanted to add that everyones auto insurance is going up because of " ya''ll Ready for this. They are going up because of the rearview cameras located in the back so folks don't have to turn and look behind them when backing up. I said my 1996 Jeep does not have 1 of those and she said no but you might hit a car that does. I'm sure ou talk is not going to change my mine about staying with them if that is the reason my rates are going up plus they won't let me pay by the year but only 6 months is another reason I am looking now. Thanks for the responses.1 point

After several decades with State Farm, I dropped my costs with USAA. It seems the longer you keep an insurance company or other service, the more they want to increase prices.1 point

not sure who you use for insurance, but I would recommend calling Zander insurance. I heard about them on Dave Ramsey's show a couple of years ago and never thought they could actually save that much money. Turns out they got me slightly better homeowner's coverage for literally 50% of what I was paying, and auto insurance for both vehicles at over 30% less than I was paying, for more coverage. They basically shop around at a bunch of different places for you so you don't have to do anything, and send you documents explaining the top three plans they find so you can compare them easily. The ones they sent me were reputable places and had an AM Best rating of A1 point
