  1. The serial number snafu was human error. To what degree it was preventable with more attention to detail, I'm not sure. The root cause of our problem here is citizens being preemptively treated as criminals sans evidence for exercising RKBA. That needs to stop, but I'm not hopeful given the myriad examples we have to remind us where armed citizens stand in the eyes of the government and the law. The post from @Dolomite_supafly is spot on in what this woman had to endure. For someone not prepared for such, it can mess with them for a long time. I hope any HR reps screening her for a job see the article exonerating her before they disqualify her from the quick check because of the mugshot. If this woman ever has to seek mental health support, she better not pay a dime that isn't reimbursed riki tik. She deserves quite a bit more for the violations she had to endure, but that would be a start if needed. Props for the local news team for their part in surfacing this miscarriage of justice.

  2. The number one rule of shotguns is that if you're not shooting it, you need to be feeding it. Where most are really lacking is in practicing to reliably develop those skills. The Aguilas are fun little lower recoil shells, but all-in-all you'd be way better of spending that money on more of your normal ammo and really honing your skills. The shotgun is round for round just about the most destructive personal weapon system we have. But, when it comes to fighting with one - if you don't have your stuff really squared away it's liable to bite you. I'd just go with some 00 buck and call it a day.

  3. I am a huge fan of volunteer/independent/college radio stations and in my opinion WEVL 89.9 out of Memphis is the best in the state. Saturday night is especially good with blues, soul and hardcore (serious punk hardcore) up until about 11. Listen here: http://peace.str3am.com:6030/listen.pls Another is WNCW 88.7 broadcasting from Isothermal Community College in Spindale, NC. They used to have a 10 watt booster transmitter in Knoxville that is long gone but that's how I got hooked. http://wncw.org/listen-live

  5. I got a ticket in Orlando FL for about 5-6mph over the limit around Mickey Mouse house. I was rolling with the flow of traffic but I had out of state tags. I asked the FHP why me when I was rolling with the flow of traffic, he said the out of state tags, won't contest it. Little did he know that I had "just" moved down to Orlando, so I took the time to contest it. I won, FHP guy was ticked when I told the judge what he said.

  7. It is and FWIW the two female leads and the partner Cruise's character had did the best acting. Garufa already pointed out that the two "big name" actors in this movie aren't what they used to be acting wise.

  9. Look to see if the foreend spacer is rubbing. I have a shotgun that does that. Careful tightening the screws if it is plastic. They break easily.

  11. As per law you are to unload gun and case before exiting auto ,if taking gun out of auto. FYI in Speed Zones set cruise for and watch as it drops 55 to45 fine can be $900 and up. They have a fleet of White Vans that sit in speed zones only with a periscope that is photo radar and you will get a ticket with your car and tag in mail in a few days. I have hear a few horror stories on this. On open road ISP may only allow eight over on out of State.

  14. Got my lower assembly back from Ruger today. Fast turn around, 8 days from when I dropped it at the Post Office till it showed up back in my mailbox with the free magazine in place. Safety feels more positive, will run a couple of magazines through it tomorrow.

  15. You should consider beautiful Ferguson, MO. I understand it's near impossible to get shot by the police there. You may get shot by one of the residents, but that's the trade-off.

  16. Contact S&W then and see what they can do for you, I've sent several revolvers back to them as well as to Colt for repair and refinishing. Action jobs aren't out of the question either. I don't think you'd have to worry about them letting someone incompetent doing either custom work or repair.

  18. The officer should of issued a summons, instead of arresting her..its not like she was going anywhere. In the mean time the SN and her story could of been confirmed. At this point, an apology and reimbursement for all legal fees, lost wages/profit and inconvenience should be made.
