Haven't posted in a little while (I still lurk) so I thought Id contribute to the forum. This year I decided to pick a bow back up for the first time in about 18-ish years. The last time I hunted with a bow I was 13, Im 31 now. Earlier this year I picked up a Mathews z7 extreme, circa 2011 I believe. Its a great shooting bow. I recently picked up half dozen Victory Rip Elites to shoot as wheel. These arrows are lightning quick! We chrono'd them with my bow at 285fps with 100 grain field points., not to shabby for an "old" 60# bow! Cant wait for September to roll around. Here are a couple pics for your guys' enjoyment. This is the best group Ive shot so far with my set up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

I can't really disagree with this. About 10 years ago a culture of persecution came down in this area. That's one of the reasons why I've gotten away from the sport riding scene. The standard assumption is "that idiot on the bike did something wrong". That's a shame given the millions of tourist dollars brought in by motorcyclists, though I'll also openly concede that many bring it on themselves.3 points

I own a bike, and I throw my leg over it every day scared to death that it might be my last time. It doesn't stop me. I have taken courses, and logged thousands of miles. I like to think I ride responsibly, and like driving a car, I do most of the time. But all of us would be a liar so say that we ALWAYS followed ALL the laws ALL the time. Riding a bike is not like driving a car. Other than the fact of operating a vehicle, they have very little in common. Regardless of whose fault it was, or the outcome, it sucks what happened. For both operators. And with all that said, even for the Harley Haters. They have an ad that states "If you wait to live your dreams, your kids will miss the lesson. Set the example by living yours, today." It is rather poignant as a parent. And a lesson I don't want to lose with my heathen, regardless of the result. And helmet laws be damned (I live in Kentucky) I wear one.3 points

Don't assume with those peckers out in that part of the state. When I crashed on the dragon, I was going below the ridiculously low speed limit and the cop wrote me for failure to maintain, careless driving, and traveling on the opposite side of a yellow. Well, I was actually sliding across the double yellow on my back before falling off the cliff. Then, to top it off, I was in a medically induced coma at the hospital (with a breathing tube) and he told my ex that I gave him a statement stating I was riding recklessly before the accident (statements of witness contradicted everything he said/did) and that if she didn't sign to accept the ticket that they were going to issue a warrant for my arrest when they woke me up from the coma. So, as soon as someone brings up police/tickets/motorcycles, I don't make any assumptions because for some ungodly known reason, they have a well-known reputation to lie in that part of the state.3 points

Got my lower assembly back from Ruger today. Fast turn around, 8 days from when I dropped it at the Post Office till it showed up back in my mailbox with the free magazine in place. Safety feels more positive, will run a couple of magazines through it tomorrow.2 points

There is one really close to benton tn that only costs 3 dollars per visit called Springcreek Shooting Range. It's near the Gee creek campground. Not the best range in the world but if u can make it through the week it's usually empty2 points

I think that is exactly what happened with the so-called 'guns in bars' bill/law. Bredesen vetoed it and the legislature over-rode his veto. When we had a Democrat governor and a Democrat Speaker of the House the Republicans in the legislature - as well as some Democrats - had something to prove. They wanted to convince gun owners that they were on our side so that we would help give them control of the state government and they have been double-crossing and bait-and-switching us ever since. I think we need to get back to a balance in which, while there are still enough 'pro gun' representatives and senators or at least enough that want us to believe they are 'pro gun' to pass good legislation, those ostensibly 'pro gun' members of the legislature have to actually work to prove it. Give them a governor they have to fight instead of one that says, "Don't send me any real, strong pro gun rights bills," to which they respond, "Whatever you say, Lord Haslam." Even worse in the last, few years was the situation where a pro gun rights bill is gutted because UPS or FedEx doesn't like it and they get their bought and paid for puppet - who was supposedly 100% behind gun rights and carry rights - to gut the bill.2 points

Haven't seen deals like this in a bit. Get it while you can. Good shooting ammo if you don't need brass. Made to run in battle rifles like Fals and hk91's. Maybe if you just went down there everyday and perched on top of one of stools bull####ting about the stupidest of things and blocking potentially paying customers who might like to see what's in the display case, they might do you a favor.1 point

Guess she was going to get screwed either way.1 point

I would vote Dem instead of Harwell. The House and Senate will still fake being conservative so I don't see anything major happening if a Dem does get elected. It may actually make the Republicans try to pass more favorable gun laws just to make them veto it. A little reverse psychology maybe..ha.1 point

If she gets the nomination she won't get my vote............JMHO1 point

People like her is the reason Trump ran roughshod over all the Republican do nothings in the primary. The Republicans are never going to learn.1 point

Esco... I always resize the brass, flare it as little as possible to get the bullet started to seat, and use a bit of a taper crimp... The 9 and ACP dies should be taper crimp dies... I measure the outside of the case at the case mouth with the bullet seated with a dial caliper or a micrometer, note the reading, and adjust the taper crimp die to crimp about .002 tighter than the original "no crimp" reading... It works well for me... Lotsa folks who bulk reload will tell ya this aint necessary... I kinda like it anyway... Bullet pull (...the amount of squeeze the case puts on the seated bullet...) and crimp is important with slow burning powders like the heay kickers use... Not so much with the faster powders... I like the crimp thing to make sure that the bullets wont set back on recoil and feeding with the semiatuos... RE: "Reloading number of times on the cases"... Resize em every time (....i think this is far more important than the taper crimp, by the way...) and reload em till ya see a case mouth split... When they split, toss em... I tend to keep my cases separate in 100 to 400 piece batches.... They will tend to go bad together... When ya get tired of sorting the splits, toss em all... Hope this helps a bit... leroy1 point

Thank you for the compliments Tacops. yea, I have always been one to plan ahead for things within my power to do. I know that things do break down and most times at the worst time possible so I try to be ready. As far as my landlord. He is a nice guy from some foreign country. I think Budapest is where he told me one time but could be wrong. He is a very hard working fair and honest man. He has my A/C back up and running already. It took him about 30 minutes to find the problem and had to replace a small transformer and it's up and running again. He never complains when I call him about an issue but some things I just fix myself if it's something I can do and does not cost much so don't bother him with it. I think he knows I do that even though I have never told him. I think my neighbors in the other duplexes may have mentions that I would fix small things in their places so he does not have to make a trip for something that takes 10 minutes and 5 bucks to fix but they would call him for that. The elderly lady had him come once to change a light bulb in her livingroom even though there was still 3 working. I told her from now on call me to do stuff like that. The landlord bought Central unit filters for all 3 units and gave them to the tennants and when he showed up to give me mine I showed him a pack of 5 new ones I already had in utility room. Once a month I go to the other units and change out the filters so he does not have to come and do it. Just who I am!..........1 point

Be pretty hard to arrest him if he is in Somalia won't it? I hope they are keeping eyes on him every minute of every day. With what I have read about his 3 year record I have no clue why he was still on the force period unless they have a lot of trouble finding replacements. I sincerely support our men and women in uniform and yea I do undertstand that there are some that should not be in job because they are unfit to serve but that is in all jobs regardless of what it is. There are just some jobs that require special people that Law enforcement is one of them...............JMHO1 point
