  1. Well, you guys are bad influences. Or good, depending on whether you talk to me or my wife first. This is on it's way to me: http://palmettostatearmory.com/psak-47-gb2-liberty-moekov-rifle-516446444.html

  6. Rep. Mike Rogers' amendment was included in the House version of the NDAA which passed today. If the Senate passes it (and they probably will) then I think the Army has to release the surplus 1911s to the CMP. http://www.personaldefenseworld.com/2017/07/cmp-1911-pistols/

  8. What makes it great to me is that ammo is barely more expensive than 22 lr, yet you KNOW you shot something when you pull the trigger.

  9. Just left the theater, that was an extremely good movie. It was shot in a way like I've never seen another war movie - focused on just surviving a ####ty situation and not on winning a battle. The dog fights/plane scenes were so big that I don't think a normal theater will do them justice, so if you go see it, check out IMAX for certain.

  11. Nothing turns a bad news cycle quite like blowing some stuff up... Cynical, but the consequences of getting it wrong are beyond a scale that's been seen in our lifetimes.

  12. Middle Tennessee Shooters Club will be hosting its monthly 3 gun match on Sunday August 6th. It will feature 5 challenging stages. Round count will be approximately 100 rounds for each gun but remember these are minimums so bring more in case of misses. Early registration and squadding will be on practiscore or you can sign up at the range between 1100 and noon. We will start promptly at noon. New shooters please arrive a little early for a new shooters briefing. Match fee is $25 for non members and $20 for members. I can be reached at sumocrp@aol.com with any questions.

  14. Man! How did I forget to add 300 Black?! I have actually been criticized for owning 300 Blk. Limited use and all. It was my first AR. I felt like it was an ideal home defense choice and it got my first suppressor. I prefer it in pistol length and have 2 set up for CQB. I'm guilty of spending a good bit on accessories and I'm glad to see that market is growing for the AK.

  15. How can you own and run a gun forum without an AK-47 is the real question? Glad you ordered one so we don't have to answer that question. Congratulations. Looks like a nice piece. I just purchased another AK-47 Yugo Underfolder the other day. One cannot have too many guns of any caliber.

  16. Glad you caught the squiB. I'd wager everyone who reloads has had at least one. Another good reminder to pay attention when reloading and firing (even factory ammo).

  18. I like the variety of posts here. For me, I was looking for what I hoped would be the right truck gun. 7.62x39 had comparatively unique and compelling ballistics. This is what I found: What makes the 7.62x39 so great to me is that it holds it's energy better than other rifle calibers when fired through shorter barrels. You can still have muzzle velocities around 2000fps through a 7.5" barrel. That's impressive. I own the IWI Galil ACE pistol and I love it. I bought a Draco pistol as well. You made a great choice and I'll be curious to hear your update after you take it out.

  22. I'm going to get an AK-47 someday, just being stingy with money currently. I want the "classic" look one though. Either an old beat up wood stock, or the under folder. Aside from the collection itch it scratches, it's quite possibly the most practical rifle for all contingencies. Fantastic yet simple mechanics in operation, that you can drag through the mud and still put rounds downrange. The ammo is good in punch without being prohibitively expensive to stock up on or too bulky to carry in large qualities. Yes, 7.62x39 starts to suck fast past about 200yds, but who's ever going to need that in a real world scenario here in the US? I love ARs. They'll always be my primary go-to...but the AK will be ready if they ever go down or I can't get parts. Just as soon as I get one anyway.

  24. Do you base all your firearm purchases on a need basis? If you want something and have the financial abilty to acquire it, then do it. If the new whatever turns out not being what you really thought it was going to be, turn it into something else.

  25. As you said Hillary didn’t get elected. Nearly a grand (or more) for an AK? I don’t think so. Do you have a good AR10?

  31. Hard for me to have anything but bewilderment for anyone not named Dennis Rodman who thinks they can just go to North Korea and have everything be hunky dory. The fact that this warning is needed beyond it's primary use as a message to the regime is disappointing.
