These are all made from the same blank. Amazing how different you can make the same blade look. Same size....optical illusion I guess with the bottom one being closest to the camera. All are 1095 carbon steel and the blade blank started the same. The OAL is 10' and blade length is 5". The one with the "rock" pattern is a bit heavier in that it's made from 3/16" thick steel. The other two are made from 5/32" thick steel. The IPE handled one with the OD Green and black G10 accents has the handle bobbed in the back a bit to make the look slightly different. They all have thumb jimping and lanyard hoe. From the top the rock pattern has Orange Agate handles with white liners and white and black accents. The middle one has Burmese Blackwood handles red G10 liners and red and white accents. The last one has IPE handles with OD G10 liners and black accents. I did bob the back of the handle a bit to give it a different look. I forgot to add the red/white accented blade had copper/brass and SS mosaic pins...the green and black accented one has SS mosaic pins and the Orange Agate handled one has brass pins.

Those scientists need to watch the modern Battlestar Galactica mini-series pilot (or hell, the whole series itself) to understand why this is a bad idea. Cylons, man. Cylons.

Hog hunting is one of my PASSIONS!!!!!!! I go and have every year for about 10 years! Loshbough Hunting Lodge in Crossville Tn is my go to. Great people, tough property, mountain goat tough in some areas. They have some real monsters on this property. They are really great people to work with. Talk to Cheri or Suzy, tell them Jim Grice told you to call. Then we want pics of the hunt AND the BBQ!

I like it anyways. Exaggeration? Probably......but still gets the point across.

Look like a bunch of PORK right there. My little brother use to go to Catoosa back years ago and he only killed 1 hog and decided it was not for him. He thought he would be a big white hunter and go after hogs with a Ruger 44 Mag pistol /w 6 inch barrel I think it was. He ended up shooting the hog from up in a tree he climbed to get away from the hog. That was his first and only hog hunt................

I have seen people try to redye boots from brown to black, kinda of sounds like what you are talking about. It covers the surface but any wear and the brown shows through. It looks kind of like it's been painted with tire black if anybody knows what that is.

The bike shop told me that the manufacturer of that wheel had a good bit of problems with broken spokes. I've read the same thing online but I don't always believe what's on the net. The rear rim was trued with the first spoke replacement. I was given all the options from a new rim, a used rim, and replacing all the spokes. I chose the used. The shop replaced the wheel today with an "almost new"one. Said if the new one broke a spoke he'd replace it for free. The bike cost me a good bit more than $300. I liked the disc brakes and extra gears so I spent a little more. Resale might be in that area but I don't plan on selling it. I still like the bike. And because of that, I just want to get my money's worth. Besides that, not all of those 2k 1911's go bang like they should. And I'm sure $2000 bikes have problems as well. A nice road bike might be in my future as long as the back holds out and I can find a way to hide it in the garage. The wife is on the Dave Ramsey kick, therefore I am too. I plan on riding this weekend...so we'll see how it goes. Thanks for all the replies, folks.
