  1. Just made my first NFA purchases, pretty excited, kicking myself for waiting so long, but such is life. I went through Tactical Investments here in Collierville, he had just gotten the Silencershop Kiosk and it really made it easy. I was the first to use it, wahoo! The SilencerCo deal of $200 rebate until 06/30 is well worth it, as you will more than likely need a number of accessories for your can if you are a rookie like me. When I registered the Omega they even gave you the option of getting another muzzle break in addition to the one that comes with it, along with a hat or pouch, and hat or pouch for the Harvester too. Here are my purchases: SilencerCo Omega SilencerCo Harvester Dead Air Mask The wait begins now, sounds like the dump from last summer is finally clearing, maybe I'll get them by Christmas???? Here's hoping..........

  3. Went there once looking at their leather sofas/chairs and wasn't too impressed. Price were as-expected, but almost all of them were that cheap Chinese 1/32" leather coating on fabric that looked & felt like it would wear off in a year or two. Couldn't say anything about the rest of their stock as that was mildly disappointing and I went with another place & fabric chair/couch. It could be that just about everything is made that cheap now, am unsure.

  6. http://www.broken.press/froliberty/politics/this-is-me/ This is another excellent article from a woman who is a southern neighbor of ours (Mississippi). This case and the others like have been, and will always be about race until we as a society stop viewing Philandos and Tamirs as inherently more of a threat than Steve and Dave. I will admit that this case and its verdict have weighed particularly heavy on my heart. I spent a lot of years working retail in the predominantly black neighborhoods is Memphis I always encouraged the young men and women I worked with to get their permits and to carry in accordance with the law. Like many of us here I looked at the permit as a "good guy checkbox" and it may be, for me. Not necessarily for them. Instead of helping them better protect themselves and their families did I really just put them even more in the sights of police than they already were? The murder (I refuse to call it anything else, jury verdict be damned) of Philando Castile reminds me that I play under a different set of rules then they do. It isn't my fault, I have no guilt over that fact, but it is my responsibility to be cognizant of those facts. If we believe that the rights recognized by the 2A truly are for everyone, we must ensure that everyone gets to exercise them without fear that the agents of the state will murder them with impunity for doing so.

  7. Gunsmithing Services View Advert Hey guys, many of you know me here but I've had a lot of folks inquire about services or see something and not know that I offered that. My biz name is a little misleading I apologize for that. I'm a full service gunsmithing shop that does 99% labor type work. I moved my shop to Oliver Springs a little over a year ago. Things are running great so I wanted to throw this out there in case you need anything I can provide. First and foremost I will work on almost anything. I have been working on guns for 35 years now. Started off at my grandfather's pawn shop back in the early 80s. I moved to Oak Ridge in 2008 and opened Law Enforcement Sales early 2010 and have been steady smithing since. Since inception I have had a 07/02 manufacturing license for both title 1 and title 2 firearms. Began heavily on the LE side but my customer base has grown more than I could have ever imagined and I now do way more work for the general public. Little about me, I have been a commissioned law enforcement officer since 2001, worked 7 years as a SC State Constable working all over the state. I am currently serving as a Sergeant with the Anderson County Sheriff's Department which I joined in 2008 and have been an active Reserve Deputy with them since. I am also a VP at Wells Fargo bank working in their securities/loss area as a Software Engineer. I've compile a list of things I usually work on but again, the sky is the limit. I will 100% be upfront if there is a job I am not comfortable with. I have not done everything but I have found I tend to get the more difficult jobs around the area none of the other smiths want to deal with. I feel my prices are very competitive and I always charge what a job is worth not what my time invested is. Services Sales Affiliated with most the industries distributors. I don't do much retail because of TN's sales tax it's currently impossible to compete with the internet. I want you guys to get the best price you can but I do have those customers who want to buy from me and I don't mind helping search something down and getting it. I am a East TN SilencerCo SPEQ dealer. They offer great prices to LE, Military, First Responders (EMS, etc.). Call for special pricing. They offer a couple times per year this discount to Veterans too. Transfers Title 1 transfers - $20 INCLUDEDs TBI background. I WILL accept transfer in from private parties and it doesn't matter if I can get the item or even have the item in stock - no games! Title 2/NFA transfers - $35 - I'll happily help/review your paperwork. Been in NFA for 30 years. Barrel Work Shortening Threading - most done on CNC Lathe Crowning Pinning (compensators) - installing and removing Contouring Head spacing Install AR Extensions / replace broken alignment pins, etc. I do some chambering.. full barrel blanks (7.62/308/9mm/7.62x39,22, etc.) .. and existing re-chambering ...40 to 10mm, etc - will be offering additional calibers as they come. Receiver/Bolt Work Engraving - NFA, Images, etc. Extractor installs / Sako M16 extractors, etc. Bolt knob threading/installs - Badger, etc. Changing bolt face calibers (where feasible) Receiver / Bolt face truing Various repairs Parts Kit Builds/Repair HK Style - Can roll/weld flats, demil parts kits, build 922 compliant semi autos. AK Style - Can roll flats, weld rails, Rivet trunnions, trigger guards, stock trunnions, etc. (NoDak is so cheap it's probably moot now but can do it either way) RPDs PKMs - Designed a new semi trigger pack that utilizes 99% AR internals. Custom machine a new hammer and recoil assembly. My conversions do not use that ugly recoil rod that most do that has to protrude through the middle of the rear stock. Everything is internal. MACs UZIs VK59s List could go on and on .... ALL of the above can also be machined to post sample select fire status for LE agencies Refinishing Parkerizing Cerakote Duracoat At the moment I do not do cammo patterns. Sorry I have a couple of master refinishers I can refer you to for those services. Handguns RMR/Reddot milling -not just flat, proper radiused front WITH all 4 indexing posts (RMR) Slide serrations, windows, etc. Sight removal/install Dovetail milling Recoil/Hammer Stud replacement (revolvers) Cylinder Reaming/Honing Picatinny/Weaver rail drill/tapping, etc. General repair / parts replacement If I can't find a replacement part I can often machine something. I do a lot of fixing stuff.. machine guns, rifles, heir looms, etc... Custom Machining Above is just a sample of services I can do. I have 2 production class HAAS CNC machines, both a Lathe and a 4th Axis VMC. I also have a 54" Monarch lathe that I haven't ran out of room with and an old Bridgeport milling machine. Old 1940s vintage good stuff! I do odd work on non guns stuff too - Motorcycle parts, RV car parts, you name it. I co host a 3-4 machinegun shoots across the states and neighboring areas per year. If you'll follow my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/LawEnforcementSalesTN/ or our hosting page https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=beltfed brothers we'll post our event information. It's a nice opportunity to get some real seat time behind a lot of the equipment we don't normally get to shoot. We have a M134 Minigun (4K rd/min), Several M60s, M240, couple of M249s, M16s, Mp5s, slew of other fun stuff. Don't be Knob Creek and watch come shoot for yourself!! I also post smithing jobs I'm working on as time permits. Feel free to IM or email me for any service questions. Thank you ALL for your continued support! Stay Safe! 9. We've been eating cucumbers, zucchini, and tomatoes for a couple weeks. We're getting close to having enough okra to fill up a frying pan. We also have a single pumpkin on the vine.

  14. We had our first garden produce of the year for lunch today. Yellow squash and zucchini, sliced lengthwise, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with creole seasoning, garlic, and Italian seasoning, and roasted in the oven, served with thick sliced deer tenderloin, marinaded in Allegro marinade, and grilled to medium rare, and crescent rolls. It was delicious! Our cucumbers are beginning to come in too.

  15. 8 to 10 lbs rules out a Fox Squirrel, I have bagged a bunch of those in my life for the freezer and some really big ones but I think about 3 lbs is the biggest I put in the freezer. I'm sure you would have recognized it if it was house cat so would almost rule that out also. I found this video that might help with some insight. Hope this helps!!!

  16. We have bought a few Stickley pieces from them, because they are the closest dealer. We knew exactly what we wanted, so we didn't get much of the sales pitch.

  17. Ran it yesterday, works great, trigger is nice, but it could use some trigger work if that makes sense. The flat trigger is sweet but I was expecting more of a custom feel.... ran extremely cool w that huge barrel, I ran @300 through it and it felt better and better, I'll have it out again today. I really like it. Just trying to decide which dot to use... maybe leupold this time..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. It's a little further than you may want from Bell Buckle, but TFG Automotive did some good work for me when I was in Murfreesboro. The people were friendly and I think I got a fair shake for the work performed, but I'm pretty unaware of what a deal or ripoff is in the car repair area.

  25. My G19 serves me very well. It could just as easily be an M&P or an FN, but I went with Glock because they offered the most bang for the buck at the time. If I had to do it all over again I'd probably still choose Glock, but I'd still look at other brands. I'm not loyal to Glock, but right now it is the best platform for my needs. Now I just need a smaller gun for CCW use with tucked in shirts and slacks because that has been happening more an more lately. I'm thinking Kahr. The only handgun I had that didn't serve me well was my 1911 because it was just too pretty to use seriously. I couldn't bring myself to mess up that deep blue finish so I sold it to someone that wanted a safe queen.

  27. Does the Glock 42 uses a heavier recoil spring assembly to compensate for its slide mass? I realize that its a locked breach design but its RSA has to be strong enough to do a number of things during the firing cycle. That makes for a pretty stout hand cycling or chambering sequence.

  28. Only time my 43 has been hard was with one of those Clip It backplates, jammed it up like no other. If you can, you might also try disassembling it to make sure everything is where it should be.

  29. Dave and Mike hit the both sides of the issue here. The NFA suppresses not just ease of acquisition but also the desire to even purchase suppressors in the first place. (The principle of that $200 stamp has kept me from buying.) That keeps the market small, prices high and the innovators out. How many John M. Brownings have been stopped over the last 8 decades or so because of the legal issues around being able to tinker in the garage? The removal of suppressors from the NFA will result in an explosion of demand, innovation and manufacturers.

  30. Trump or no Trump, it has to pass the House and the Senate first. If you want it, you should mail a letter to your Congresscritters. They ignore email, pretend to listen to phone calls, don't even print faxes. Real mail followed by a phone call works best.
