I agree with Ugly, Bersa. There is no common sense in these people. They truly believe that if there's a no guns sign up somewhere, that the bad guys are going to obey. It seems the only way that kind of thinking changes is if one of their own has a bad experience first hand. Then they change their tune. On another note, why do some people try be a moderator or thread police? If you don't like something someone posted or saw something in another thread posted then DON'T OPEN THE THREAD. There's no reason in being an ass. People that have been here a while know that Bersaguy has trouble seeing and has to use a large type. Does everyone here search a topic before you post to see if it's already there? I doubt it. Geesh.....5 points

Thanks Randall53 for covering my bad eyesight. Back when I first came here OS jumped me for yelling because I was using large type but he has not brought it up recently. I have the magnifier on to read most of the posts but can't use it to type. I am hoping to get my cataracs removed in the Fall but right now I am just saving up to be able to get both done. I know a lot of folks that will get 1 done and then wait sometimes a year or more to get the second one done. I'm planning on getting them both done 2 weeks apart and get it behind me.4 points

Man, I'm gonna get beat about the head and shoulders, but... at least I'm able to admit when I'm wrong. Many of you have heard me express my dislike of the M&P series. I now have a .45 Shield on my hip. Wound up trading my trusty Glock 36 in. This feels better, holds one more round, shoots better and more comfortably... ... proceed with the beatings...1 point

My wife had them in both eyes last summer and had to have the surgery. She was going to have to wait about 3 month, but hers got so bad they bumped her up and she only had to wait about a month. She could hardly see to walk. Good luck with yours it's pretty amazing. she sees perfectly now for the first time in over 40 years. Always had to wear glasses or contacts. Not anymore!!1 point

My collection and firearm bug got started unfortunately when my father passed just shy of 10 years ago. I've not looked into older guns since I aquired my dads. A shocker to the family was the 1866 "Golden Boy" second model made in 1869 according to the serial. No one knows how it ended up with him. Other goods were a S&W 686 no dash 6" from 1982 and a Ruger MKI from 1976 I believe. Not had funds to even think about adding anything the last few years.1 point

Today I saw a great deal on a sp101 but, stopped myself because, I ready have one, it was exactly like the one I have, and would rather spend that on a different gun and because variety is the spice of life. But, I know that there are people who own multiple copies of the same gun for whatever reason and I'd like to know who does and what would be the point of it. You know besides the Hollywood reason.1 point

I have owned 2 of those and would love to own another. I am still trying to figure out why I sold the last one I had other than just plain stupid. The last one I had worked great and shot great and hit what I was aiming at. It would eat about any ammo you fed it and never failed. I love the lemon squeezer grip. It makes you hold the gun more firmly. If you decide your going to keep it I will give you the name of a company that will make you magazines for it. I searched far and wide for some back ups and none to be found but I had 3 backs up made and was not to costly like I was expecting it would be. Should you decide you want to part with it sometime let me know cause I would be interested it getting it........1 point

Tennessee is strange for actually having a weapons crime for licensees who violate 'no guns' signs but then again I thought Tennessee was odd until recently for not even letting people have loaded guns in their cars or still having to buy a permit to open carry. I laugh when I hear that Tennessee is pro gun. Yeah I guess it is not New Jersey where you have a slim chance of getting a carry license but there are quite a few states that carry wise have it better than Tennessee.1 point

Yeah, this is one of those cases where those fundamental rules of firearm handling are really important.1 point

If you conceal and there are no metal detectors, no one will know and there won't be any problem. You aren't breaking the law so why worry. I would not let event rules keep me from protecting myself when you are following state law. You do realize if this becomes more of an issue that event organizers can have metal detectors under this new public property firearm law? So I wouldn't make too big of a deal out of it and just conceal or you are going to see metal detectors everywhere you go.1 point

Hi, I rarely post, just lurk a lot and take in the info! I had been looking for a pistol in 9mm or .45 to carry in my hydration pack when riding my dirtbike. Ive got several handguns, but wanted something that wouldn't be too heavy or too nice to get banged around. I picked up a sccy cpx-1 at the Outpost earlier this week for 200 bucks and took it to the range this morning. I put 150 rounds of speer lawman 124 grain and 150 rounds of Remington umc 115 grain through it. It performed perfectly, no jams, no fte's, nothing. It was pie-plate accurate out to 10 yards, which is all I expect from it. Recoil is a little snappy but not bad . ( my 13 yo daughter shot about 50 rounds and didn't complain), I have several other high-end pistols, but this is one that suits my needs perfectly. I guess my reason for this post is Ive read pros and cons, watched videos, etc , but it far exceeded my expectations. If I only had a budget of 200 for a pistol, this would be the one.1 point

Per request...here is my 458 Socom - its a double stamp (NFA) 10.5" with a Bowers Versa50 Suppressor. Vortex Viper PST 1-4 x 24 scope. It literally brings home the bacon...and a ton more pork too :-). I have a 16" RR upper too but suppressed it is just too long for fast moving pigs (and any other things needing blown up...lol)1 point

For me, the 6.5 Swede would be nice cause I've already got a 96 Mauser and a Ljungman, and I reload for those already. So not having to reload yet another caliber would be great. Sadly, I haven't had either of my guns out to distance yet, and can't say what kind of groups I'm getting on paper. But from what I've read, the 6.5 Swedish should make a good contender at distance for an average marksman. The BC of the 6.5mm bullets are great. I also can't say anything about the Howa rifles, but I'm glad that manufacturers are still building rifles for the 6.5 Swedish round.1 point

I have bought everything in pairs for the past ~10 years as my boys are now teens and I don't want them fighting over who gets what when the time comes. This also makes range days very easy.1 point
