Over the past few days folks have been asking if they can carry here or carry there and it appears that the answer seems to be no in most cases. If you look at many of the places that have been posted with GUN Buster signs most of them have been or are similar to many places that terrorists have struck at one time or another. Any place were crowds gather such as sporting events like to soccer games in Paris to a bar in Florida. Big or small but all gun free. It is beginning to appear that if anyone wants to take the family to what is advertised for families they must do so at their own risk unprotected. At some point I wonder what it will take for these people that are running these events or operating these businesses are going to realize that they are making themselves and their patrons targets for terrorists. Don't these people that are in charge of these places realize that bad guys don't live by the same rules that law abiding people do. How many times does a business have to be robbed or attacked with loss of life before they learn that GUN BUSTER signs welcome violence...........jmho3 points

Can't leave out Phoebe Ann Mosey aka "Miss Annie Oakley", "Little Sure Shot", "Little Miss Sure Shot", "Watanya Cicilla", "Phoebe Anne Oakley", "Mrs. Annie Oakley", "Mrs. Annie Butler", and "Mrs. Frank Butler". These 3 images are from her early years. When Phoebe was only 15 years old she won a shooting match with traveling-show marksman by the name of Frank E Butler. She ended up marrying him and traveled the world performing shooting exhibitions and competitions. This was her in 1922 at the age of 62. She died 4 years later from Vitamin B12 deficiency anemia.3 points

Here's an interesting development: I noticed two days ago on the IPBoard support forum that the 3rd Party author of the Classifieds software has transferred it to another 3rd Party author and will no longer be updating it himself. He stated that due to a new job and other obligations, he no longer has the time to develop it or support it and hopes that this new guy will better be able to keep on top of things. I know you all feel that we made the right decision, and I already felt that we made the right decision because it simplified my own life a lot by not having to worry about a 3rd Party application not sending email properly, but now we all know that we made the right decision. This certainly explains some things!3 points

This is 100% spot on. This is a direct result of the May 19th, 1986 Firearm Owners Protection Act. Since there is a finite number of transferable machine guns by the general populace that whole supply and demand thing kicks in.2 points

I would say there have been more than a few exhibition shooters that used special purpose custom made ammunition to aide in their ability and effects. I was fortunate enough to see the late Bob Munden perform two shows. Both shows were done indoors so he mentioned all of his loads were wax and black powder. One of the tricks he did was load two rounds then quick draws and fires both rounds so fast they sound like one shot. Then to step it up he has two balloons set up about 5 yards in front of him and about 8-10 feet apart. He loaded two rounds and then quick draws, firing both rounds and bursting both balloons almost simultaneously. They may have booth burst simultaneously as that it happen too fast to really tell. While he did have a skill level unlike most to draw and shoot very quickly his was aided in hitting the balloons by the fact he used black powder. The 45 long colt black powder loads would produce a lot of unburnt powder that exited the muzzle like shotgun pellets thus bursting the balloons with quite a bit room for point of aim error. However he still did it amazingly fast and with his usual Bob Munden nothing to it style. And to step it up a notch here it is with a Bond Derringer less the quick draw.2 points

My brother hooked me up with a new Inforce APLc (compact) Weapon Mounted Light. The APLc is touted as being for the Glock platform and fits flush with the end of the slide on a Glock 19. Of course, I had to try it on various other handguns. So far it's fit perfectly on my Glock 19, Sig P320 Compact, HK VP9, my M&P 40 Gen1 and my M&P M2.0 9mm. Here are some shots of the 200 lumen baby-light on the M&P M2.0. It's a clean setup!1 point

Hawaii Police To Destroy $500,000 Worth Of Department Guns So totally legal functioning guns getting smashed. Sad... https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/hawaii-police-to-destroy-500000-worth-of-department-guns/1 point

Better yet, why don't these people that keep making these redundant threads take a few minutes to search what's already been posted in multiple threads?1 point

There no question that it's a park. The issue is that Nashville and its attorney have told the legislature to get bent and it's going to take case law to resolve this issue. That means someone is going to have to go to Ascend with a ticket for admission and be denied admission because of their legal firearm, or be charged with violating 39-17-1359. Then they'll need to have deep pockets to take it to trial.1 point

I was always curious about the duo of Bonnie and Clyde and was curious and to what type of guns they preferred. I new Clyde was fond of the BAR as a long gun and Bonnie was a shot gun person in long guns. I have seen several movie remakes of the story of Bonnie and Clyde but after doing some research was very surprised to find out that there was no Tommy guns used when they killed Bonnie and Clyde like in the movies. It was later stated that Bonnie and Clyde were both actally killed by the same rifle calibre and very possibly the same shooter. Here is a link that tells the story behind the Remington 8 rifle used. http://jamesdjulia.com/item/lot-1170-historic-remington-model-8-rifle-used-to-kill-bonnie-and-clyde-57943/1 point

Anybody shot one of these? Cool little AR pistol. The magwell is a module that you change out to use different mags. The one in the video takes glock mags but you can get a different module to take M&P mags and they are working on others.1 point

I went to a Dave and Busters back many years ago that was a free standing one in Hermitage Tennessee. I looked and I don't see it anymore and the only one showing up in Nashville is at Opry Mills. I have been to Opry Mills exactly 3 times since is was built. Once I went there because I was riding with friends and they decided to go to BPS. @nd time was to go see a movie in the IMAX theater cause it was at the time the only one in town and the last time was while on a date and we stopped in at TGI Fridays for dinner. That was all over 10 years ago. I have heard so many things about the crime from the hoodies at the Mills that there is no way I would go unarmed and if I was denied entry I would just leave. You mentioned taking the family out for some fun. You may want to try this place! My son in law and daughter take the grand children there quite often and they say it is great. Use to bowl there and did carry concealed but that was also years ago. Don't know policy now. http://hendersonville.strikeandspare.com/circus-world1 point

I have actually been to one of the D&B locations in Atlanta more than I have been to the one in Nashville. Actually wasn't impressed by the Nashville one, at all but that is another story. I know that the one in Atlanta - which is a stand-alone building full of awesome, or at least it was full of awesome the last time I was there, several years ago - has or used to have a sign up that there had to be an adult for every so many minors that entered. I don't know if the Nashville one has such a sign or not and I know you meant the mall as a whole. Just saying that someone else obviously thinks that is a good idea. As for signs, I like to be compliant with the law but I also get pretty annoyed when, after jumping through hoops, paying fees, being vetted by the authorities and so on some business still wants to treat me like an armed thug. To that end I try to avoid posted places but if I choose to enter one or have to enter one I may or may not have adopted the policy that concealed means concealed and if they ain't got metal detectors then they ain't posted. Hypothetically speaking, of course. I mean, a huge sign in plain sight is one thing but I just might miss a smaller, less obvious sign and probably wouldn't look too hard to find one.1 point

Yep, the Mayor of Nashville thinks pretty much like most in her party when it comes to obeying laws. You have to obey her laws but she does not have to obey the rank and file people above her that hand down laws at the state level.............JMHO1 point

IMO, It's unclear. Most of us arm-chair lawyers (i.e. not real attorneys) on TGO would say it's permissible to carry there with a permit. The state's AG issued an opinion that seems to agree with us, but it's only an opinion, not law. Nashville patently disagrees with the state and has basically flipped the proverbial bird at the legislature and the AG by continuing to post (and nominally enforce) no guns at the fairgrounds and other city-owned places like Ascend Amphitheater. The city's attorney also issued a statement effectively saying "screw you, we're going to do what we want". Then we just got this new law about most local-government owned property being good to go unless there are metal detectors and security guards, then they can post. Nashville's mayor is very unhappy about this one, so I expect we'll see more finger-flipping in the months to come . . but I honestly don't know, and nobody will know for sure until a judge rules one way or another, but that will take someone being charged with violating TCA 39-17-1359 in one of these city-owned places and taking it to court, which hasn't happened yet.1 point

Anyone played with one. Got one Saturday and ran 250 rounds thru it today. Right fine pistol. Trigger quite a bit like the Beretta APX, good and crisp but not real light. Picked it up from Guns & Leather Hendersonville.1 point

If SIA doesn't have one not sure who would around here. They usually have a couple or few from the CZ line there. Are you looking for a classic, old-school, wonder-nine CZ-75 or one of the newer variations? Over the past year or so AIM Surplus has had a fairly steady supply of Israeli police trade-ins available. Might be worth giving them a call to see if they expect any more.1 point

I have to agree with bersaguy on this. Those that are saying to just conceal are firstly advocating breaking the law in carrying past a posted no guns sign.......BUT this is not private property and in these cases if we as gun owners don't start letting venues like this know that they cannot just post a gun buster sign any 'ol place they wish to have a festival that's contrary to state law we accomplish nothing in advancing legal carry by law abiding people. This is exactly where an opportunity exists to exercise your rights and openly display that right.1 point

I am relieved I am not the only geeky person. I too have planned a vacation day for this event, I work and live in its path. However, if there is rain or heavy overcast, I plan to cancel my vacation day! BTW, I remember too reading about this 30-40+ years ago, been waiting too!1 point

I have gone a few times to purchase a firearm in a public place alone but it was always a TGO member in good standings. If I was meeting someone not a TGO member I never went alone but had an armed friend with me to watch everything going on.1 point
