  1. Greetings all, its been awhile since I've been on, but I wanted to show off my new carry rig done in Cognac Caiman and black leather. Just wanted something for those special occasions, lol.

  4. I put together another AR a couple weeks ago. This is my first build using the Aero Precision enhanced upper. I wasn't sure what to think about the enhanced upper when I first started seeing them online. Thought it was some fad and not useful. I really do like it and the way the picatinny slots on the upper receiver continue seamlessly without the big lug between it and the rail. Not that I'll mount anything in that location but I like the clean look. Aero Precision lower, Troy BUIS, Geissele super gas block, Anderson 16" barrel, ALG QMS trigger, Magpul MOE stock and MOE+Grip, BCM Large charging handle (not pictured) and standard A2 flash hider until I get a Surefire comp for it. Turned out very nice for a semi budget rifle.

  5. Number one rule of traveling abroad (only partially applicable here - but the part that is matters): you do not want to go to jail there. You're almost certainly safer here than any major city on the redneck riviera. You're going to the beach - take a healthy dose of situational awareness - and then don't worry about it. Check out Bioluminescent Bay. Eat some mofongo. Have fun.

  7. Only the PPS and PPQ are included in that rebate. Only the PPS would compete size wise. The Shield has a $75 rebate until June 30. So from Buds you could get a Shield for $254 plus a transfer.

  9. If the law in the state of Tennessee states that if you have a legal carry permit and you can carry it in a location such as this I would carry if I planned on attending it. It's about time the envelope is pushed to show these people that the state law trumps their postings. If folks keep backing down what good is the law? I carry is several parks around Gallatin that were or are posted when I take Kasey out to the park to let her run around some where pets are allowed.

  10. Most of those type of events glance in women's purses. If there are not metal detectors, just conceal and don't worry about it. You have a permit and you are at a park so you should be legal carrying.

  12. Ok, finally took the time yesterday to learn how to use my new toy. Took me about 10 minutes to figure it out but once I did I instantly fell in love with it. I unloaded all my magazines and let the mag springs rest and today I loaded them back and it was so easy it spoiled me and I wish I would have got one of these years ago. I will give them 5 stars and would give 10 if I could..............

  13. This is not an endorsement but rather a PSA. Assuming that not only is this a reputable seller (I think it is) but also that Walther will give the rebate on this purchase (I think they would), the PPQ 9mm can be found here for cheap: $494 PPQ 9mm Free Shipping $537 PPQ 9mm Navy Free Shipping I'm torn, I mean can you really beat either of those prices after you factor in a $100 rebate? Since the rebate is open a while I may buy one within the next few weeks/months.

  14. Horrible color schemes are one thing but some guns don't need any help to be hideous. The PPX his horrible looking but a great gun for the money. I wish I had kept mine.

  15. Some cams had a mirror before the plate to make it correct positive. Why the Kid image wasn't known as being reversed right from the start I dunno, but the myth that he was left handed persisted for a long time. Like "The Left Handed Gun" in 1958: - OS

  17. A few years back, I went to Nashville to purchase a rifle or two. Tried to find someone to ride "shotgun", as much literally as figuratively. In East Nashville. Got near the place there were young folks wrestling, in the middle of the road.

  18. I have mine set up so they are angled down about 20deg. This helps direct the splatter to the ground. I don't shoot close than 10 yds. ALWAYS wear glasses. I also limit my shooting to cast or plated bullets rather than jacketed. The jackets are more likely to come back at you.

  19. This. I don't take a gun on vacation unless we drive there. I'm typically drinking most of the time so having a gun on my person isn't a wise choice. Don't let carrying a gun get in the way of having fun and relaxing.

  21. The famous Billy The Kid tintype: Which of course led everyone to believe he was left handed because of his six gun location, until it was realized that the image was flipped from reality. The proof that everyone overlooked for a long time is found on the rifle. What is it? - OS

  22. To add, regardless of accuracy questions, Mini-14's are just dandy little carbines. They are light, nible, and get the job done that needs to be done. I would even go so far as to say that ergonomically they are superior than other well-known carbines/rifles of the same caliber.

  24. Permit me to offer a third possibility for reduced traffic, Mac. With the last several incarnations of the format, I find the site less and less user friendly. Yes, I'm old and don't have the background in computers/IT/ and other high tech things that most people here seem to have. The days of my spending hours here have been gone for quite some time now. Yes, I'm also job challenged and have a lot of time I should put to better use. But to me at any rate, I see the number of former heavy-duty users dwindling. Seems stat many of the staple names have almost disappeared from the posts. I do see a bunch of new names, very many of which seem to be sellers who have discovered the site; and they do not usually represent the kind who will stick around. They come for the fast sale and that's all. And quite frankly, after contacting several of them, I'd just as soon they not return. Ok, this is not well written, and I'm probably going to offend some by it. But just my little opinion.

  25. Per request...here is my 458 Socom - its a double stamp (NFA) 10.5" with a Bowers Versa50 Suppressor. Vortex Viper PST 1-4 x 24 scope. It literally brings home the bacon...and a ton more pork too :-). I have a 16" RR upper too but suppressed it is just too long for fast moving pigs (and any other things needing blown up...lol)

  26. And some still say the vote went the wrong way! Elections have consequences, and luckily the consequences may be in our favor this time. Now if Trump can only get a couple more on the SC bench...

  27. Nope. I have a lifetime permit. As long as it isn't revoked, I shouldn't have to renew it.
