No slugs needed this month. Preregistration will be on Practiscore. Match sign in will be at the range from 11:00 to noon and we will get started shortly thereafter. Match fee is $25 for non members and $20 for members. I can be reached with any questions at sumocrp@aol.com

  5. Thanks to TGO member Bud, I'm the new owner of a S&W Governor. I have probably already shot it more than he did. I shot a few carpender bees doing some skeet shooting off the back deck with #9 .410 plus a box of old .410 shells I had laying around just because it is fun shooting a hand canon and put a box of colt long and acp through it. The real question for me other than price is there a reason you would shoot .45acp over .45 Long Colt? I plan to shoot a lot of acp for fun because of price but was also wondering what the opinion on defensive ammo (other than the .410 options). Does the Long Colt has enough extra umph to override the larger selection of different defensive ammo in acp. The Long Colt is an impressive cartridge when you start loading it around someone that has never seen it before.

  7. Yeah, me too. Springs are cute, as long as they're not out to get you. I prefer flippers or thumb studs over anything, but prefer my Spydies over my spring assisted or autos.

  8. I wasn't happy with the previous foam cuts, so I re-did it. Much better! When you raise up the silencer tray, there is another section underneath for all the accessories.

  9. Maybe not. I don't know for sure that some other states aren't charging something in same way TN does just for 4473 check. - OS

  11. States may be No, Partial, or Full contract as far as NICS checks. Any of those who get involved at all obviously may charge a fee, though I don't know of any others who do. Seems the other states who charge something or other are for their own state related registrations of various kinds. https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/permanent-brady-state-lists - OS

  12. If you buy a gun from an FFL in Mississippi and you do not have a MS firearms license, your information is called into the FBI NICS system. You DO NOT pay a fee to the FBI for your background check. If you do have a MS firearms license, that acts as a background check substitute and your information is not called in. You just fill out the FFL 4473 and the dealer writes down your firearms license information in an area on the 4473. Mississippi does not have its own gun background check system like TN.

  13. I think the state ceasing to use the HCP as a revenue generator and only charging a reasonable apportionment of admin cost would lessen some of that opposition...though some people would never be happy but oh well. 14. And to help save the wear and tear on GRGC's new AR500 steel plates please allow me to provide a color guide..... AP = Armor Piercing = BLACK Tip ammo. LAP = Light Armor Piercing (actually Steel Penetrator Tip) = GREEN Tip ammo.

  15. I had a box of Black Talon in the 90s, if I only knew ... I would've bought a truck load! We did test it in some ice blocks, they opened into deadly petals. But it's really turned into mythical hype. I handgun hunt for deer and have used Ranger T-Series successfully for that, but I've also used Hornady XTP and they work just as well. Both open up great at low pistol velocities.

  16. You can say it come on.. .go ahead..... GOAT!!! Takes me back to before mosh pits happened at pop concerts and my ears would ring for days after a good concert. Of course the dumbass in the video probably has no idea where it came from other than he saw it somewhere else. I am surprised he did not do the "I love You" sign thinking it was horns. lol On a side note...sad to see that Chris Cornell passed overnight...

  17. You can purchase just the MPA BA Chassis System from Masterpiece Arms. They have many different models to choose from. Here is a link. http://masterpiecearms.com/cat/mpa-bolt-action/mpa-ba-chassis-systems/

  18. Well, that's sort of semantic thing. TICS queries NICS, so it queries everything NICs does, but it also queries gawd knows what else -- and TICS will deny your transfer for things that NICS doesn't care about. - OS

  19. I just went and looked at Buds and they have 2 on the first page of the Bersa section. Blue is $270.00 and Nickel is $313.00 so I guess they are still making the CC's.

  20. This is the first time I have paid attention to it. It really is a great self defense blade for the untrained. Looks like it has lots of inspiration from the Police. I may have to get one.

  23. I just picked up the 9mm x-change kit for the P250. I haven't had a chance to get to the range and this weekend isn't going to happen. I've never had any problems with Federal, but then I just realized, my .22 guns are revolvers, a CZ-452, A Ruger 10/22, and a Ruger Mk II 22/45. In other words, all guns that will fire pretty much anything.
