For those of y'all complimenting dude on keeping his cool, I think what really happened here got missed. I spent over a dozen years working with the public in customer service. That dude has just been in the service industry long enough to have beat down by it that he just didn't care if he got shot. That's what working with the public in the service sector does to you. He didn't have nerves of steel, he just had zero ####s.9 points

I wasn't happy with the previous foam cuts, so I re-did it. Much better! When you raise up the silencer tray, there is another section underneath for all the accessories.2 points

This video depicts another good reason why the public--in particular fast food employees--should have a basic understanding of how guns work....or don't. Had this Jimmy John's sandwich shop counterman understood that a pistol is unable to fire while the cartridge is out of battery in an FTF condition, he could have informed the assailant of this error and thus promoted the company's reputation for outstanding customer service in addition to forking over the cash.2 points

I am curious. When is the last time you got out and did some shooting? Did you just go to the range for some target practice, were you shooting in a competition, or was it at a class? It seems like a lot of folks that I've spoken with lately are in a slump and haven't gotten out very recently to shoot. Granted, the weather this weekend hasn't been the best for it either but I got out yesterday anyway in the middle of probably the most torrential rain we've had recently and ran a few guns in it just to see how they (and I) would handle less than ideal conditions. No surprises, I and they did just fine. One thing that became very apparent to me in the middle of the downpour -- and I do mean that I shot out in the downpour, not under shelter -- was that the M&P M2.0 grip texture was a godsend and the Sig P320 grip texture left much to be desired. I am glad that I have a grip module out for stippling with a gentleman in Arizona and can't wait to see how it stacks up when it returns. That's really my only gripe about the P320. How about you? I am sure that some of the competitive shooters here and any local infantry grunts (current or former) have shot in the yuck and muck, but do any of the rest of you do this occasionally to test your gear, your abilities and yourself?1 point

Range Report: Picked up a 16 LWH a while back, and I just got around to shooting it today. It is consistently around 3/4 moa with hornady match 140gr ELD. Below is a sample group. After I dialed it in to zero, I had fun drilling a mini steel silouette at 300yd. Total weight of rifle and scope is 6lb 12oz. I'm overall happy with a lightweight and fairly accurate rig. Look at it another way. Most kids won't pay any more attention to this than they would the potato battery. They'll be back to instagram and Snapchat by the end of class period, escaping school with a marginal education that they've put minimal work into. They'll be ill prepared to be anything but good cookie cutter consumers. But for a few it will spark their imagination in a way that cannot be unkindled. The problems that these kids go on to solve will change the world.1 point

Last weekend at Bud's or weather permitting, in the valley (aka the in-laws) Every other week when I can swing it. As far as operating in the rain, I will admit to zero experience, shooting in the rain, some. My "extra" focus is drawing / holstering with foul weather gear. With lots of extra straps, clips, frogs, drawstrings for snagging, it's slower and smoother for me than usual.1 point

Oh, I dunno about "most". I have three of the original XDs, service, tactical, and subbie. Carried the subbie IWB for a good while before going mostly to pocket carry with a Kahr, so you could say I'm a fan. I just don't really grok the attraction of this one. Omits the grip safety which many will like, but going to double/single action just seems retro to me when you already have one of the best striker fired designs around. - OS1 point

OK I liked this but only for the range!!! Not your old ass. I suddenly realized I should make that clear. All kidding aside, nice set up.1 point

I've got Sigs and I've got Glocks (even an XDM in there somewhere)... I love my 229 Legion, and 3rd gen Smith... LOVE THEM. But I carry a striker fired XDS, I can tell without even holding it that is a nope for me, I hate where Springfield is going with this "Mod 2/grip zone" crap.1 point

Well, I'v been wanting one of these for a few years and finaly did it on Gun Broker. Oddly, I was the only bidder on the $300 auction with $15 to ship and my dealer here gets $25 to make it happen so it comes to $340 OTD so to speak on this Stoeger import. Any one know when Stoeger dropped the Uberti Stallion line? The gun was advertised as new old stock but it did look like it had a cylinder or so fired threw it. The colors are really nice on this particular gun along with the over all fit & finish. I do need to do a little work on the trigger since its a tad creepy and its only 1.5 lbs away from a Bang! This is the first 30 rounds fired at 40 feet off a rest. If not for the one flyer (me), its holding 1.5". I'll tune the sights in better but now I'm after a Mag cylinder and then I'll decide on any sight mods. The second pic puts the Stallion along my JP Sauer 44mag. Great guns with about as close to Colt fit & finish as your going to get without Colt stamped on the barrel.1 point

Just picked up my first 1903. These are cool little guns. This one was made in 1913. Not bad looking for 104 years old. The 1903 is a .32. The 1908s, which look the same, are .380. I will probably end up getting one of those also. The slide is tight and a little sticky. I need to stip it and give it a good cleaning and then off to the range.1 point

This thread got me thinking, it's been way too long. So today after work I went to my mom's out in the country. Hadn't planned on going, so I just got my trunk gun out and ran a few hundred rounds thru it.1 point

You should too...! I say:.. "...Collect em all in multiples...!".... accumulatin leroy... the pistola curmudgeon...1 point

I've got a spare carry gun that is functionally identical to what I carry everyday. I like having a backup of the gun I rely on everyday.1 point
