  1. Karma has been quite good to me lately, so I'm just looking to pass some down the chain. I'll be moving into a new apartment in a few weeks, and it already comes with a washer & dryer. So, instead of putting what I have no into storage, I figure I would bequeath it to an individual or family that can get some use from it. They're not the latest models, about 10yrs old in fact, but they still work just fine and I've never had a problem. Instead of them just sitting in a garage for years on end, I'd like these to go to someone who would actually need it...a family just starting out on their own, someone who can't afford one and has to go to a laundromat despite hookups in their place, something like that. If you know of anyone who would fit the bill, or can find someone through your social circles, church group, or other networks, please let me know. I'll be ready to come off them in two weeks, and would ask that someone come to Murfreesboro that weekend to pick them up. Please reply or PM with any takers. Thanks for reading.

  2. Picked up a F1 Firearms Durabolt on sale a while back. Even on sale it was expensive for a BCG but it was shiny so I bought it. Fast forward to last week where I went to a shooting school and I put 4000-5000 rounds through it. Early in the week I wiped it off once with a rag and besides applying CLP that's all the maintenance I did with the gun. The gun ran flawlessly the whole week running green tip. Took some before and after pictures when I cleaned it. I only used a rag for the entire BCG except for the neck of the bolt which required the use of a nylon brush to get all the carbon off. Is it worth $300?....that's up to you to decide. I like it, it ran great for me, and clean up was a breeze. But I probably wont pick one up again unless I find one in the $200 range.

  3. "Finished" this one Friday. Still needs BUIS, a light, and a couple other do dads, but it's firing. Then again, I think there's something to be said for leaving it this way and just enjoying it. This one was much more a budget gun. Has a CMMG MK9 lower, Aero upper, Spinta bolt. And just because I was bored, a picture showing a few different caliber AR's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. How important to you would it be to be able to buy shirts, hats, etc. embroidered with the TGO logo any time you wanted? I am looking at an option that would allow me to make that available to you all. There's a bit of a setup cost that I would have to pay, but honestly, it's not enough to really deter me if enough people were interested. Basically, there would be a website with a catalog specific to TGO where you could order quality hats, shirts, and other things embroidered with our logo. They would be responsible for filling the order and shipping the items to you. There wouldn't be any minimum quantities to order and the lead times would be very reasonable. Just trying to gauge interest.

  5. Had to try my hand at a set of coins in my defender's grips I picked up. These are Buffalo Nickels that are engraved called Hobo Nickels. Really like the grips better than the rubber ones that came from the factory.

  6. Thanks! You don't really want to know what it would take to replicate that one. Suffice it to say you could buy a nice factory built BCM RECCE for what I have in it. But it could easily be built a lot cheaper with lower end parts. Forged upper, bargain rail, cheaper lower from a variety of makers, things like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. I have attended a few over the last few years. I always park at Sunbelt Rentals at 3022 US-19, Bluff City, TN 37618. I think they just moved, but someone will be selling parking there. It is very close to the track and I think was $25 last time. If they are full, Lady Equipment Co. at 3077 Hwy 11 E, Bluff City, TN 37618 is just a little farther away and has a huge lot. These are on the Johnson City side of the track. There is a hill to walk up to get to the gates, but I think the other side is about the same. I recommend getting there early and just hang out. It makes parking so much easier. When you leave from either place, take a left away from the track and things will thin out some. Juse don't be in s hurry anyway. Also, unless you are driving back, you may want to look for a hotel ASAP. They fill up early. If you can drive back to Knoxville, it might get better. Enjoy!

  8. I used to attend both races for years( during the sellout years and tickets were difficult to get) but grew tired of the crowds and haven't attended in several years. You will probably have to use a clear bag to carry anything in, they did check coolers & such but it was more of a "I'm supposed to look" kind of deal. things could have changed on that with current events as they are. I had seats in section TT, (I think) which was just inside the backstretch (turns 3-4) and in row ~50. I could see the entire track very well, see all the action. Seats at either end of the track, up high but not behind a support pole for the suites is best, so aim for rows 45-65 if possible. If you can look down the entire length of the track, you will be able to see all the action without turning your head constantly. They do sell tickets that are directly behind a support pole, so ask. I sometimes had parking passes which are great, but then you have to wait for the rest of the 100K+ people to leave before you can get out. I would park in peoples yards when I did not have access to a parking pass, everyone that lives w/in a mile of the track does it, they make enough over the race weekends to pay their property taxes and such. LOL. You can get blocked in there too, but not for long. Best thing to do is have some food in the car, have a sammich and a beer, wait for the crowd to ease up. Enjoy the race.

  9. I'll be there for both the Sat & Sun races. Haven't been wanded. They just check bags to see what your bringing in. Not really a bad place to sit, though from past experience I'd avoid being in row 1 or 2 anywhere around the track as your visibility of the cars is limited. I always park on Exide Dr. There's a parking lot on the left just before you get to 11E (on the right is the campground) It's $20 to park (free if you're driving a Toyota) and a short walk to the track. Google map below. You can see where I put the pin drop on Exide Dr. GPS coordinates should you care to use them. Bring lots of cash... food & drinks are expensive! Just my humble opinion but I recommend buy/rent the headphones with Racing Scanner (they'll have a booth there). You can listen to in car audio of all drivers. Have fun and maybe I'll run into you two.

  10. My wife sure surprised me tonight! We were picking up my daughters new laptop at Best Buy this evening. I went to drool over the Go Pro camera that I only dreamed of having. I've never even used one, but thought it would be nice for filming my hunts. I almost passed out when she found me and said "I'll get it for you, but don't ask for anything for awhile, not even peanut butter!" Lmao. I am so happy! I sure do love my wife and apparently she loves me. Any helpful hints for a newbie to Go Pro?

  11. I'd love a new TGO hat. My old one has about had it. A TGO polo would be awesome. How about aTGO oven-mitt? Those of you who think I'm joking probably don't shoot suppressed very often...

  12. Not trying to be a jerk. But I'd start reloading. The factory loaded ammo usually isn't up to snuff power wise and overpriced. Look around at the major online retailers and sign up for in stock alerts. Gunbroker also usually has 357max stuff for sell. It really is one of my favorite cartridges, but I reload for it.

  14. I'd be interested. Wish list would be TGO hat with section on front for patches, but I'd get t-shirts and hoodies for sure

  15. It's my understanding that you're to have your permit on you at all times when carrying. I'd be patient and wait til it comes in the mail. I renewed mine last month and had a new permit in the mail 2 weeks later. Welcome to the forum by the way.

  17. You could play it out through a few emails for a humorous thread continuation. There was (is) an internet guy, Ebola monkeyman, who had a lot of time invested messing with Nigerian scammers. Had a website and everything. Funny stuff.

  18. I hit the bricks this morning at 4:00 headed to Mississippi and worked all day, and drove back to Jackson tonight to take care of my 90 year old Father"s meds, I just buried my Father-in-law last weekend, Navy man from WWII, and I expect my Father to join him in the next few weeks. I am a 63 year Senior Project Manager with a very sick wife who uses up his vacation to advocate for firearms issues. I do not get my gas paid for, nor any recompense for my efforts. I deal with these folks denying the People their Rights for the three months they are on our dole stealing our money and drinking our tax payer funded liquor, kissing there rears and trying to get my grandchildren as well situated as I can. Normally I am the only advocate for these issues in the house. I am too tired to be insulted, and I rightly do not care what you throw at me because I do all I humanly can and that is a lot more than most.

  19. Hey I never said I supported it. I would bet that only 10% of gun owners are truly "gun people". Just look at all the idiots at indoor ranges for proof. My guess is that a lot of folks with a 12ga under their bed have no problem with universal background checks...

  20. I think you are correct that this is very popular, even among gun owners. Would you agree that it's popularity would drop if people were educated on the topic? Most people don't really understand what the impact would be. If educated on the issue I suspect support would drop but still hover around 50%.. Of course I have no data to support this.

  21. How many of you have walked into your local gun shop looking for something specific and walked out with a new pistol or rifle instead? In my case, I stopped by my LGS to purchase a bipod for one of my rifles and I walked out with a Romanian SAR-3 instead.
