Thanks for working on this David. For the record, I am using Gmail. Also, I have been through my settings numerous times. I am pretty tech savvy and I don't think, after all these months and now seeing other chime in, that the issue is on my end. Having said that - you are welcome to remote in and check everything. I can also switch to another email if I need to for the purpose of testing. I really want notifications (well, actually - I will end up buying more....) and I seem to get alerts for everything BUT classifieds. -Jon2 points

I'll be glad when today is over. Might just boycott the internet for the rest of the day.2 points

Saw this on arfcom pistol forum, thought I'd pass it along. These Phitz cases are usually MUCH more, but there's a "final sale" on their site, 10.99 - 19.99 for the most part, depending on color/pattern. https://phitz.com/collections/final-sale Now, I haven't got my hands on one yet (one guy on the forum has the mandolin one for a pistol and says it's great), but either the mandolin cases (page 2) or the baritone ukulele cases, slightly larger (page 3) look about perfect for AR pistols, I guess AK ones too, and noticed the 3/4 size acoustic guitar ones look same for AR rifles of most any length (page 1). Or other rifles too of course. Hand grip, backstrap on the mandolin/uke cases, backstraps on the 3/4 guitar ones, pockets on outside, etc. Inside dimensions listed for every model on site. Shipping not bad, 15 clams total for the two I ordered (baritone uke and guitar), whole tab for both 38 bucks. The two I ordered: baritone uke ($11.97) 3/4 guitar ($10.99): - OS1 point

Congrats @whiskey & @10-Ring!! The large flocks that I have been seeing were on another property down the street from family land that I hunt on this morning. Waved to them when I saw them as I was heading home. My property was covered up with turkey last weekend during youth hunt and I had my son with me but he still has one more year before he can hunt and needs some more trigger time/practice otherwise he would have had his pickings.1 point

I bought a 4 wheeler there. It was over 25% cheaper than anyone local. Well worth the drive. I got there before they opened, and there was a line of folks almost 1/4 mile long waiting to get in.1 point

You could simply buy a thick scope rail, drill and tap........ Even if you had a shop do it, it shouldn't cost much. A decent gunsmith could whip one up easily.1 point

There are 2 or 3 different lawn services in my neighborhood, 2 use Hustlers and one uses grasshopper, why I don't know. A 3rd guy, older fellow who does it just for extra pocket $$ I suspect has a 60" Ferris ZTR. All three yards look good after being mowed. Well, one doesn't (my SIL's next door) but that is because the lawn service guy just mows too fast and in turn leaves streaks of tall grass in the tire tracks, whether wet or dry. He uses Hustler. I had to go to Athens about 20 miles away from my house to get my Ferris, but that is the closest place for commercial ZTR's, they also sell Snapper, Husquavarna and a couple other brands. They do cater to the lawn service guys, have free loaners, etc. I got a demo at the shop on all the brands they carried back then that I was interested in, and chose the Ferris. This shop has been around for a long long time, and had a good rep for service. I've had my ZTR serviced 1 or 2 times by them, they will come and get it if I request it, and deliver it back ($25 I think, or it was). Mine has 350 hrs on the clock, no issues, still runs great and I don't regret my decision at all. Don't be afraid to go a few miles to get a quality product with good service when you need it.1 point

From about '96 to '04 I mowed commercially, then part-time a few more years. The most popular commercial mowers around here are Grasshopper. Probably Hustler after that. But one reason is the Grasshopper dealer, who always had a really expert head mechanic, and the shop gave commercial users priority. Don't know how they stack up against Kubota or John Deere, because neither have really taken hold in this area. Kubota is starting to gain now, though. I ran Grasshoppers with front mount decks, Kohler engines, and had excellent service out of them. The bigger ones also can be bought with diesels.1 point

If you have good dealers around you, they will bring a mower to you to demo. I did it with Deere and Exmark. You won't go wrong with either. Like I said, the difference for me was a less tight deck which allows me to mow damp grass without clogging. Exmarks are great, but they prefer dry grass. They are also a bit more expensive than the deere for the same size. Or at least I was able to make a better deal with Deere. Absolutely try both if you can.1 point

A ztr will always out mow a tractor. Mostly it's down to speed over the ground and turnaround time and working around obstacles.1 point

Dang, must have a lot of stuff to mow around. Yes for 100% certain you would get done substantially faster with a 60" over a 42". I shaved 15 minutes off mowing 2+\- acres going from the 50" to a 60" and that was the first time using the new mower. Both mowers go the same speed, but I think I could save another 5-10 minutes once I get used to the softer controls on the new mower. Going from a 42 to 60 would be an enormous upgrade. <edit> part of the reason it is so much faster is that the bad boy weighs 300 pounds more than the cub cadet did, so I can literally mow full throttle without having my bones jarred apart.1 point

Like there's always a clerk in sporting goods at Wally's, right? Hell, the reason they have so much ammo in the case at most stores is because half the people that want it can never get anyone to sell it to them. - OS1 point

I would also like to see some new falling block guns back in the market. Even if it had to be an import like Taurus keeping Winchesters 1890 alive at a non Italian repro price. Personally I would revamp the old Iver Johnson line. Here I remade this 922 by machining threads into the receiver and then screwing in a old octagon barrel that was sleeved with a 17HMR chamber. The original straight butt stock was converted to the Savage 1903 pistol grip unit. At 25 yards All these I.J.'s have auto eject and rebounding hammers like the H&R's This is a 38 shot gun I recently acquired that I plane on sleeving the original rusty bore with a SS bll in 22 hornet. Only this need an extractor made from scratch and the firing pin will need to be bushing-ed down to smaller ID. Great designs that SHOULD be reborn with modern materials. Break opens........ not so much.1 point

Right. Not dealing with the simple issue of decriminalizing the gun sign mess in TN, tells me that the NRA is not really interested in helping TN gun owners. More importantly, none of the so called pro second amendment Republicans are interested either. Speaking as a lifetime NRA member. But no longer a Republican. Libertarians where are you?1 point

You would think an NRA rep would at least show up to speak at the committee meetings when I'm guessing they played a part in writing this bill, since it has lawsuit money going basically to the NRA. I'll give the Moms Against Guns credit, they do show up to the meetings and advocate for their cause. Tough to justify supporting the NRA when they don't show up to the meetings and then support these types of crummy bills as pro gun.1 point

I recently had to go to the Roane County Courthouse. I was going to the Register of Deeds office and the County Clerk, not setting foot in a courtroom. The guards at the door, manning the metal detector, asked where I was going. When I told them, they said to just come on through. I wasn't sure what the deal was going to be so I wasn't carrying but if I had been - as long as I wasn't going to a courtroom - I would have been good to go. Based on 300winmag's post, it sounds like this bill would make it illegal to carry there, at all. That is a step backward, not forward. Sounds like this bill has turned into good intentions paving the way to hell, to me. Leave it to our current 'oh, you gun owners have to elect us because we are sooooooooo pro gun' Republican controlled congress to turn a pro carry rights bill into an anti carry rights bill. Screw 'em, I'm sick of them all.1 point

UPDATE apparently the lawyers in Germany took care of all the paperwork as my friend received a crate of personal items at customs. After signing a pile of papers he opened the crate and the mosin was included. I haven't seen it yet but he did say the front stock has been cut off. Cool to have a wwII rifle that you know the story.1 point

No decent firearms issue bill is going to pass this legislature, TFA does not have the money and NRA is not interested in getting involved at this time.1 point

HB0040 would make the CONCEALING of a handgun without a permit illegal VS presently it is illegal to carry a firearm openly or concealed without a permit. That would put us in line with states like Kentucky and Louisiana where you can openly carry without a permit but if you choose to conceal you need a permit. SB0131 seems to be a more comprehensive bill that covers various aspects of weapons code. There are a lot of positive points in this bill. 1. Basically if you are legal to possess a firearm you can carry it openly or concealed without a permit. 2. The school weapons law is changed from prohibiting weapons at all public and private K-12 schools and colleges to just public K-12 schools. From what I'm reading private schools can stick up signs and it would still be a felony at that private school to carry, even with a permit. The change also makes the school weapons law apply just to the property owned or operated by the school....not the present mess of a situation where you can get a felony charge wherever there is a school activity say at the local park or theater. 3. The whole park weapons law is deleted. 4. Anyone can store a firearm in a vehicle parked in any location, such as school property, without worry of criminal prosecution VS situation now where you have to have a permit just to store firearms in a vehicle parked at a school or 'posted' property. 5. It looks like the 'no guns' sign law would be modified and require a local or state agency to hold public hearings before a building is posted 'no guns'. My view is these are both really good bills. I honestly would just go ahead and delete/modify the 'no guns' sign law to remove the criminal weapons charge and if I was really ambitious just totally removing the whole schools weapons law or providing an exception for people with permits on K-12 public school property. I would be concerned that if you have either constitutional or open carry w/o permit legalized, you're going to have a TON of no guns signs that could hit people with weapons charges. I'd be proactive and remove that 'no guns' sign weapons charge from the code.1 point
