  5. I shot the M&P 9L for several years as my primary 3 gun pistol before stepping up to a 2011. I really like the 5" M&P guns. If you get one go for the 2.0 version. I believe it is only available in flat dark Earth currently. It will give you the best factory M&P trigger yet. It is still not as good as an aftermarket trigger job or Apex job but it is not bad at all. I have multiple M&Ps and have been very happy with them. If you are not committed to that platform, be patient and check out the 5" Sig 320 when it becomes available. I discounted the Sig 320 until I finally handled one The Beretta APX has a very nice feel to it but is the new kid on the block so to speak.

  8. I have not been receiving email notifications when a new item is listed or content is posted in forums I am following. I have checked my settings, tried toggling them off and on, logged out and back in and almost every combination of these that I can think of over the past couple of months. I have also checked my Notification Settings and followed the advise that applies in the thread 'Browser Notifications Disabled'. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

  9. I sold off my 2014 Street Glide last year as I just wasn't using it enough for what I had in it. I started to get the itch again now that the weather is nice so I picked up a new ride today. Decided to go with a Sport Tourer as I wanted something I could pay cash for as well as have a little more power behind it. Picked up a 2014 Yamaha FJR1300. I had a good time the last time some of us got together for a ride. If anyone is interested in doing it again, let me know and we'll try to plan something in the coming weeks. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-DwwDJzz/0/XL/i-DwwDJzz-XL.jpg For some reason the picture won't show, but the link works. It is a nice picture of my crappy garage floor

  10. Gah, disregard. Found it under Store> Manage Purchases. This is either different since an upgrade, or doing it only once a year doesn't make me remember the process.

  11. Unless you want to spend big on fancy expanding "self defense" rounds, hard to beat just any ole .223 softpoint for all around. Somewhat less chance of passing all the way through at close range, plenty devastating (less dependent on optimum yawing/fragmentation on contact than FMJ), and you can even legally hunt with it. - OS

  13. Sorry to hold you guys in suspense. Work has made me crazy lately. I did get to handle one in a store and it seemed easier to rack than mine. Unfortunately, it was too busy in the shop to pop the slide off to compare to the spring I have in mine (no idea if I could visually tell the difference anyway). That is as far as I have been able to go with the 12 to 14 hour days at work. I still plan to strip it and clean it totally. Not sure if that will end up making any difference.

  18. Clearly the stock has been refinished and somewhat butchered like most non professional jobs. The butt plate over bite on the wood proves it and is a huge value killer. The condition of the bore is also a big ? A very close look at the bore must be conducted to ensure there is no bulge as that's a common value fault in these old guns. If the bore is dark and pitted ( like most) I cant see it private sale for any more than 600 tops. A pristine bore, maybe 750. If it was original wood finish on a bright bore with bayo, then yah, 900 and up. God knows, a Gun show table would see the mentioned $1200. The blueing "looks" original by the pics. and these are more and more collectable every day.

  19. I got one in Henry TN it was signed off by an officer of Henry PD. I checked on the officer to see if it was real and turned out the guy was the chief of police in Henry who was post certified. I paid it, hated to but there's nothing worse than getting pulled over and finding out some turd had your license suspended... it was cheaper to deal with it than ignore it.... 23. Again rehashing old topic, but if it passes, there will almost certainly be a judicial stay within a week or two in response to suits filed by any number of states. Gawd knows how much longer for a final judgement. Unless SCOTUS incorporates at least a minimal right to bear arms in the general public in addition to merely owning them, I'd imagine it will fail on the basis of states' rights on this one. - OS

  25. Bogus. Clinton won more than 57 counties in just a few states in the south I looked at in Leip's totals. Glancing around reports, looks like something around 2600 : 500 might be closer to reality, can't find an official tally, and I certainly ain't gonna take the time to tally them up. But if anyone wants to: http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/ (click on each state to get visual county by county results, and even totals for each county (hover for % click to get actual numbers) Nothing really new here, the GOP has had a hugely lopsided edge in county totals for many years, including even during big Dem wins like in 2008 and 2012. The big diff was that Hillary didn't win as many of the most populous counties as BHO did in either election. - OS

  27. Public safety doesn't even come in second. Every single time these cameras have been studied by outside entities they have been shown to increase the number of accidents at their locations. They are strictly a matter of revenue generation.

  28. @DaveTN post a photo of your gun, please. Left hand side of the slide. If it doesn't look like this, I'd be surprised to learn that your gun really is a Performance Center model. And if it doesn't look like this, have you tried emailing S&W photos along with the serial number to have them validate whether it is a PC model or not? Maybe you didn't buy what you think you bought. Ported version: Non-Ported Pro Version

  31. I went and it was a great experience even though we didn't get in. I got in line at 3:30 and the line was a mile long. At 6:30 I was told by a MNPD officer that no one else was being let in, which was a not true. I was still about 4 blocks away so I went ahead and left. I saw only a hand full of protesters, they were mostly getting laughed at. The protesters were way too outnumbered to get rowdy. I will say that listening to Trump's speech on the radio it is refreshing to hear the president talk about doing great things. These last 8 years it seemed that every time the president spoke I was losing a right or having to pay a tax. I just hope that Trump gives his all to accomplish the things that he is setting out to do.
