It's been a good while since I've actually posted. This is one of the guns I've built most recently and it's quickly become a favorite to shoot. A 25 yard zero is also a 125 yard zero which I love. About the only things that might change are the back up sights so I can get the light closer to the 12 o clock rail, and some paperwork needs to be filed. Anyway, parts are as follows... -Quarter circle 10 lower and bolt -CMT UPUR 2 upper -Ballistic advantage 5.5" barrel -BCM KMR 7" alpha rail -KAK shockwave and tube -PA advance micro dot -Surefire scout mini on Arisaka mount I need to get some better pictures soon I'm currently working on another 9mm AR that takes colt mags with a stripped CMMG MK9 lower. I'll update this post in a few weeks with that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Had some fun fishing a dry fly in a retention pond yesterday evening. Caught this guy and quite a few different sunfish. I was using a black foam ant and they were loving it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Three and a half years ago I met up with a member here on the board and took a puppy home. My daughter was was turning seven and the puppy was meant to be her gift. Bandit was one of the best things that ever happened to our family. I have shared several pictures of her here on the board and the progress of her life. In short she is a spoiled, highly intelligent black lab. Bandit has been trained by vocal and hand signals. She understand basic commands such as sit and stay. Advanced commands such as come to 'here,' go to 'there,' 'jump' and 'up(beg.)' The obvious, 'speak' and 'paw.' She is also bell trained, catches frisbees, fetches, and the like. She sleeps in the bed and her best friend is a cat. I think I counted something like twenty commands she understands, in addition to general desires. Overall, she is a damn good dog. I cannot for the life of me imagine what it would be like without her. So late last year I changed careers, and became a service plumber, as opposed to a Dispatch Manager for the same plumbing company. It was one of the best things I have ever done. Yesterday I got a call to go to a local pet supply chain Feeders Supply. In the process of diagnosing the issue, I was granted access to the Humane Society's onsite kennel/adoption center. Directly in my eyes when I enter, I met a black lab pup. 4 months old. Her first day at this shelter. One day out from being spayed. She had a white chin and a white star on her chest, just like bandit does. I texted the wife immediately. The puppy was on a medical hold, as her file hadn't been updated for her rabies shot. I asked for a hold, and a phone call, and woke up early this morning to take Bandit to meet the puppy. Ensuring that they would both mesh was of utmost importance for both. I got the call this morning en route to the shelter that the medical for the puppy had come in, and she was ready for adoption. I was twenty minutes away. The shelter and the pet supply store were both more than accommodating, allowing us the use of leashes, collars and tethers (which we did purchase at the end,) to see how the two would get along. Bandit is a 70lb lab, and the puppy is approximately 15 to 20lbs. Look at those paws, she will be huge. She came home, and she knew, even yesterday after I spent over and hour with her, and she remembered me this morning, she had a home. Her name is Brigand. And with some work and effort, she and Bandit will be one hell of a dangerous duo.2 points

Public safety doesn't even come in second. Every single time these cameras have been studied by outside entities they have been shown to increase the number of accidents at their locations. They are strictly a matter of revenue generation.2 points

This pretty much sums it up. Those that argue in favor of citations by automated cameras deny it, but these are nothing more than revenue generators first and public safety second.2 points

After a final session sighting it in (@25 yards) I'm now ready to learn how to shoot it properly. I got it as a sporterized NPM with a 3/44 Underwood barrel. The ordnance stamp on the barrel and stock show a trip to the armory, at least once. I'm curious why it has a Type 1 barrel band. With that late a barrel I would assume a bayonet lug. The original hanguard, though varnished, is stamped RMC, so I have a small piece of Rockola. With now over 300 successful round fired on the rebuild (and about the same before ironing out all the kinks) I'm pretty confident with it mechanically. I rebuilt the bolt, replaced the piston as well as the recoil and hammer springs. Left the trigger group alone. I may upgrade to a M2 mag catch Found parts and compared prices starting with Fulton Armory and Numrich. The big reveal is what did it cost? A few dollars here and there, I never really kept up... Gun $400 (actually less, it was a bundle deal) Modified-by-me-with-hacksaw optic mount $15 Burris FF 3 free (gift) Choate folding stock $100 Beautifully made aluminum front railed handguard, $130. Not displayed, but for display purposes only. It gets ridiculously hot after 50 rounds fired. Vented sheet metal front handguard $15 Mags and pouch $90 Bolt tool and piston wrench $50 Spare bolt parts and springs $30 1 / 2 point sling $30 Covert carry, Prince tennis racket case $40 I just did the math too. Love hours spent, priceless1 point

I have had a 5" Pro for about 4 yrs. Daughter has one. Wife a 4 " pro plus several other standard models , 45, 22, shield. All full size have either duty or comp trigger upgrades. Mine has the flat trigger and 'smith fit apex barrel. I highly recommend the bbl.. 10 shot group 1.25" @ 25 yds. To me the 320 was nice but prefer my apexed Pro.1 point

It sound's like she's joined the National Guard to get her college tuition and some expenses paid. If so she's a smart girl and did her homework, you should be very proud of her.1 point

Some stats from the match: The fastest runner finished in 53 minutes and carried 10% of his bodyweight. The average competitor (overall) carried 13% of their bodyweight. The lightest weight carried was 6% of the runner's bodyweight, and the Mule carried SIXTY-FRIGGEN-TWO percent of his. The competitors shooting 308 and larger averaged 13% of their bodyweight as well, so that pretty much kills everybody's excuses on BOTH sides of that argument! And the females on average carried 14% of their bodyweight, so they made us men look like a bunch of, well, sissies. And the pic below has the breakdown of gear and caliber shot:1 point

Hell, I blew it in second post too, saying you can't delete them. I totally overlooked the little red trash can in the gallery image edit. Gallery hasn't really taken off, so not many images there, but how can you see all gallery images posted by a certain user? I can't even find a way to even find just my own? - OS1 point

Actually, with pistols it comes down to intent. But, regardless I'll enjoy "cheeking" my blade until I can get my form 1 back with my permission from my masters to put a stock on something I already legally own. Good serf that I am and whatnot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I guess you could say that about anything. What if a overreaching police officer thought your 16" looked more like a 15" barrel? I mean...guess you should only run 18" barrels to avoid that. I get the concern, I just don't subscribe to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Thanks hughd I do see where Gallery pictures can be deleted. My post was in response to Oh Shoots post that all you had to do was delete the images from your My Attachments Section to remove pictures them from the Gallery, which if like my Gallery photos are not in the My Attachments Folder so that did not answer your OP. I hope this makes sense.1 point

The late night clip that she had forgot about and was somewhat embarrassed by was good. She did have the nerd look rocking with the glasses she was wearing. However she does clean up good and is quite on the attractive side.1 point

I've got one with the apex upgrade. I feel it's a necessary improvement on the pro series. I've had the performance center and core models, but I prefer the standard with the apex flat trigger. I never did like suppressor sights, couldn't get used to a red dot on top and porting wasn't necessary. For the money you can't beat it in my opinion. I prefer it to a Glock. This is the one that sits on my night stand.1 point

When Trumps debt increases exceed Obamas, I will get concerned. Until then, I am on the Trump train and enjoying the ride.1 point
-
The often touted mantra by the right that "Obama added more federal debt than all presidents combined before him" is technically true at 7.9 trillion, but remember that Duyba accounted for the majority of all of it previously, at $5.8 trillion, so that's nothing for the GOP to really crow about. The fact is that the Trump budget is going to try and nuke a lot of a very small wedge of the cheese, and the fact that he's living more like a king than a president on our money while cutting out stuff like food programs and educational programs to the poor is uber hypocritical for a "populist". Especially since it won't even move the needle in the overall problem. Let them eat cake indeed. - OS1 point

I went and it was a great experience even though we didn't get in. I got in line at 3:30 and the line was a mile long. At 6:30 I was told by a MNPD officer that no one else was being let in, which was a not true. I was still about 4 blocks away so I went ahead and left. I saw only a hand full of protesters, they were mostly getting laughed at. The protesters were way too outnumbered to get rowdy. I will say that listening to Trump's speech on the radio it is refreshing to hear the president talk about doing great things. These last 8 years it seemed that every time the president spoke I was losing a right or having to pay a tax. I just hope that Trump gives his all to accomplish the things that he is setting out to do.1 point

They are sissified by design. Demonize firearms and they will be the evil, not socialism. I'd like to see a resurgence in normalcy to include rifle racks in trucks and a society that doesn't have to worry about getting their rifles stolen.1 point

I don't use smart locks for exterior locks, EVER, but then I don't use locks from the local hardware store either. If concerned about security you need real locks. Other wise my home is smart as can be. My thermostats swing the temp from a standby to my preference when I'm about 10 min from the house. As I pull in the drive the exterior entry lights turn on and interior light begin to turn on in succession. The home audio plays my preferred station by time of day in the living room, kitchen, and the entryway.(typically the same podcast I've been listening to on the way home). The exterior landscape lights turn on daily from 15 min before sunset to 10:30pm. The home's core is on it's own security system that is isolated, but I've greatly extended it's range with outdoor smart sensors on the home automation as a first line of defense. The smart home monitors my shed, my screened porch, my driveway for vehicles, and my exterior garage area. Upon detecting motion if the wife and I are "away" it turns on lights in the effected area and shoots me a text message. If i'm home in "armed home" mode it ignores all the interior sensors but can flash my bedside light to indicate a car pulling in the drive or motion within 6 or so feet of my garage door. When the wife and I leave in the morning the vacuums run to clean the floor typically finishing about lunchtime. If I get home and head into the theater I can tell the echo in the theater to "turn on movie" and it dims the theater wall lights, turns off the ceiling lights, powers up the projector and changes the input on the processor to the apple TV. When I'm ready for bed I simply tell the echo in the bedroom "turn on goodnight" and it will turn off all the home's interior lights and set the security mode to "armed home". One that we have really loved is that if my wife is home in bed and I come home from the hospital late it will turn on my bedside light very dim, this both gives me light to get into bed but also lets her know that I'm the one making noise at the door, b/c if the system is armed and motion is sensed before disarm it flashes at 100% bright to wake us up. Not sure what phone OS your running but here are some of the apps/sites/hardware I've found useful. IFTTT, Skylark, Alexa, Smart Home, Smart Rules, SmartThings I have used and love all of these- Smartthings hub, been with it since I left wink, absolutely better with great API support-http://a.co/3iOIuRv In wall z wave dimmers great for theater lights if already wired-http://a.co/dCzTfPf Z wave micro dimmer, I often build these into antique lamps and ceiling fan lighting kits-http://a.co/7sFg7Nx Z wave micro smart switch, I often build these into fixtures such as ceiling fans for motor control- http://a.co/at5MFSD Z wave outdoor module(great for christmas lights)-http://a.co/1yfW25T Z wave door sensor-http://a.co/80RLnTX Multi Sensors Motion/temp/luminance for monitoring spaces-http://a.co/hAJkbi8 Smart Vac to keep the place tidy-http://a.co/ivm91AQ Echo dots for voice control/interaction-http://a.co/9qdLHgS Z wave Contactor Module for large loads(electric water heater, Pool pump ect)-http://a.co/hm5DLRa I want to try this- RGB strip light ballast with zigbee radio could be really cool in the theater but reports vary from finicky to near impossible to integrate, so I haven't devoted time to it yet- http://a.co/8hNhFUc These suck, I DO NOT recommend- GE link bulbs, were great out of the box but failure rate on the 10 or so I bought is above 50% inside 18 months!-http://a.co/iFUB62m Received this as a gift, worst HA product I've played with, is essentially a running joke in our household-http://a.co/afiA4Xn Wink Hub, I had a gen 1 it was completely bricked by a botched forced firmware update, kinda soured me from their hardware-http://a.co/aMBURoQ1 point

I use smart locks on all the doors, garage door sensors/openers/closers. Will never go back to normal locks after having these. The locks are great because when family shows up I can just pop the lock open for them, or assign them a temporary pin code that expires when they leave. Also helpful when you're coming in a different door and forgot your key, or if someone drops off an expensive package and you trust your neighbor, you can pop the door open for them to sit the package inside. Garage doors are self-explanatory, how many times have you drove off and not remembered if the door closed or not? It's nice being able to double check with your phone. Nothing else other than an alarm. Electric is so cheap out here I just leave the t-stat the same all the time. Have no use for something to turn on the lights for me, seems like a waste of money imho.1 point

I've read a lot of the SHTF type books. I tend to like the series but not just a regular length Book broken into several sections. Spelling and typos get to me too. The McClane Apocalypse is what I'm currently reading. Set in TN. Good characters. I appologize if previously recommend - long topic!1 point
