Perhaps the pharmacy world is different, but in my experience the school only matters getting the first job. After that, work experience is far and away the biggest factor. Where you got the piece of paper only matters if the person doing the hiring has one from the same place, and even then it doesn't necessarily mean a lot. I understand the Daddy/daughter thing. One of my coworkers has both daughters in college in Alabama. He drove there and back in a day to fix some rinky-dink problem with one of their cars. To which my answer was ... "she's in freakin' engineering school! Tell her to figure it out and fix it yourself." He just smiled. I'm thankful for boys.2 points

Three and a half years ago I met up with a member here on the board and took a puppy home. My daughter was was turning seven and the puppy was meant to be her gift. Bandit was one of the best things that ever happened to our family. I have shared several pictures of her here on the board and the progress of her life. In short she is a spoiled, highly intelligent black lab. Bandit has been trained by vocal and hand signals. She understand basic commands such as sit and stay. Advanced commands such as come to 'here,' go to 'there,' 'jump' and 'up(beg.)' The obvious, 'speak' and 'paw.' She is also bell trained, catches frisbees, fetches, and the like. She sleeps in the bed and her best friend is a cat. I think I counted something like twenty commands she understands, in addition to general desires. Overall, she is a damn good dog. I cannot for the life of me imagine what it would be like without her. So late last year I changed careers, and became a service plumber, as opposed to a Dispatch Manager for the same plumbing company. It was one of the best things I have ever done. Yesterday I got a call to go to a local pet supply chain Feeders Supply. In the process of diagnosing the issue, I was granted access to the Humane Society's onsite kennel/adoption center. Directly in my eyes when I enter, I met a black lab pup. 4 months old. Her first day at this shelter. One day out from being spayed. She had a white chin and a white star on her chest, just like bandit does. I texted the wife immediately. The puppy was on a medical hold, as her file hadn't been updated for her rabies shot. I asked for a hold, and a phone call, and woke up early this morning to take Bandit to meet the puppy. Ensuring that they would both mesh was of utmost importance for both. I got the call this morning en route to the shelter that the medical for the puppy had come in, and she was ready for adoption. I was twenty minutes away. The shelter and the pet supply store were both more than accommodating, allowing us the use of leashes, collars and tethers (which we did purchase at the end,) to see how the two would get along. Bandit is a 70lb lab, and the puppy is approximately 15 to 20lbs. Look at those paws, she will be huge. She came home, and she knew, even yesterday after I spent over and hour with her, and she remembered me this morning, she had a home. Her name is Brigand. And with some work and effort, she and Bandit will be one hell of a dangerous duo.1 point

(I was, of course, kidding). I have several Colts including a brand new in box Anaconda .44 and its twin that I have fired. I love them both! I would of course buy it for $500 but am not trying to suggest that should be the asking price. Without knowing more about the condition, I could not speculate.--EDIT--I can see the pictures now. Looks to be in good condition. Likely more than my original bid. Guess I am out.1 point

Anacondas are great guns but they do not sell as easily as pythons. Here is a 8" anaconda with a Leopold scope for 1650 that has not been selling. I have been watching it for two weeks. http://www.gunbroker.com/item/6309178391 point

For me, the 6.5 Swede would be nice cause I've already got a 96 Mauser and a Ljungman, and I reload for those already. So not having to reload yet another caliber would be great. Sadly, I haven't had either of my guns out to distance yet, and can't say what kind of groups I'm getting on paper. But from what I've read, the 6.5 Swedish should make a good contender at distance for an average marksman. The BC of the 6.5mm bullets are great. I also can't say anything about the Howa rifles, but I'm glad that manufacturers are still building rifles for the 6.5 Swedish round.1 point

Sorry to hear that, @DaveTN. Must be more disappointing to you with how much you rave about your S&Ws. I would send it back again with a sticky note stuck to the trigger stating, "Problem is HERE" with a note explaining the issue taped to the pistol1 point

I just (December) bought a PERFORMANCE CENTER M&P9L PRO SERIES C.O.R.E. SKU: 178058. I never I thought I would say this about and Smith & Wesson gun; but what a disappointment. I don’t believe this gun ever saw the inside of the Performance Center unless it was on a cart passing through. I have owned several M&P’s and right now have a full Size 40, Compact 40, Shield 40, and two M&P rifles besides this 9 I just got. My full size and compact are off the shelf LEO guns from 2009 and have far better triggers than this disappointment I just bought. Those of you here that know me know I am a S&W fan boy to the max; so this is hard to say. I wanted this gun to be a competition range gun with an optic. This gun has been back to S&W twice without me attempting to fire a shot, and it still has not been fired. I told Customer support it had a terrible trigger, had no Performance Center marking and was not in a Performance Center box. I told them there must be a mistake; this is no PC gun. I truly believed they had sent me the wrong gun. They had me send it in and returned it with paperwork that said “No repairs required”. I was pissed. This trigger feels like its rolling across a gravel parking lot. I emailed back asking for a supervisor to call me. Five days later I got a call. After informing him of the issue he suggested I send the gun in for the Performance Center to evaluate. I explained that I just got the gun back from having been there. I didn’t see what good sending it in again would do. He agreed and said he would look into it. I told him that if I couldn’t get a Performance Center gun; I would like a refund if possible. He said he didn’t have the authority to authorize that. He said he would talk to the Performance Center manager and get back with me the next day. 7 days later I emailed them that he had not called. Their response was: “I am sure he will be getting back to you. Probably this week.” 11 days later I knew I wasn’t going to hear anything and I sat down and wrote a letter documenting everything and mailed it to the CEO and the Firearms Director of Smith & Wesson. The day the letters arrived there I got a call from a Supervisor. He said he just came from a meeting with the Firearms Director after he got my letter. He said he would take care of my issues. He ask me to send the gun in again. He said they don’t mark “Performance Center” on these guns, they don’t come in performance center cases; but it is a Performance Center gun and should have a good trigger. He said I didn’t need to explain anything with the gun; it was coming directly to him and he would take it to the Performance Center. He also said my gun was missing the C.O.R.E. marking. He said he would get the gun fixed and send a Performance center case, and give me a range bag for my troubles. 22 days later they shipped the gun back. The work order said “won’t fire” (That was never the issue). It also said Evaluate/Repair Passed Range Testing. Same bad trigger; nothing was done to it. A couple of days later I got a S&W aluminum case and range bag. (NOT a Performance Center case.) I have heard a lot of people lately saying that S&W Customer Support had really gone bad. Having to spend a hundred or two on an Apex trigger for a new Smith & Wesson is ridiculous. If the Firearms Director at Smith & Wesson doesn’t have enough horsepower to get his guys to fix a problem; my chances are slim to none. I’m disappointed and disgusted. … and stuck with a gun I don’t want.1 point

Not hard at all to disassemble but reassembly can be a pain if you have never done it. But 99% of the time I will just hose the gun down with WD-40 run the action a few times then hit it with high pressure air until dry.1 point

I have one..made it my range toy and it's loaded down with Apex Tactical internal parts so not sure how it compares with all the others but with the competition trigger and all the other crap it's pretty darn deadly. A friend of mine has a new one and he never misses with his so I assume they have worked out any bugs they may have had in the past. I bought this one in 2012...1 point

http://www.live5news.com/story/34848467/police-homeowner-fatally-shoots-home-invasion-suspect-2nd-suspect-arrested "The homeowner at that location, protecting his family, returned fire at the subject, and killed him as a result of the incident," Ollic said. Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said an autopsy on White is still underway, but confirmed he was struck four times. Salisbury said the manner of death would be ruled a homicide, but added it would be ruled justifiable. "In Berkeley County, if you kick someone's door in and you get shot, as long as I'm the coroner, that's going to be a justifiable homicide," Salisbury said. Ollic said investigators believe the homeowner acted in self-defense and that the killing was justified. Not considered murder, but he homicided the out of him.1 point

Let's say by hearsay I may know of someone who received such pole cop/ red light camera citation. The citation did have the required language printed on it. It also had printed prior to that, This citation must be paid by law. Upon further reading the law that was cited was the law of the local municipal government. So there is nothing they can do to force you to pay the fine by mail and they can't come after your for refusal to pay. The problem begins when stopped by a living breathing law enforcement officer in the same municipal location as the camera cop citation. Then it seems you may end up paying the fine with penalties to cut out the hassle factor or go to the trouble of hiring representation.1 point

IANAL, but to echo what David said, but since they don't define residence requirements in the carry law, it most likely means the requirements under their voting law/drivers license law. I'm pretty sure as a full time student she's not required to become an AL resident, although it might not be a 'bad' idea if it reduces her in state tuition, getting a permit in AL is much easier than getting a permit in TN. So if it's advantageous to become an AL resident, getting an AL permit would be the last of my worries.1 point

I used to do it a lot when I lived in Knoxville. Fish are generally smaller but you can find some pretty nice ones in the bigger water. Go to Little River Outfitters in Townsend. They are such a great fly shop and will give you all the Smoky fly fishing info you could want. Good Dry fly fishing in the spring (now)1 point

So after four full days we are going well. We have had to ban all existence of chew toys, such as pig ear or pig hide chew strips, bully sticks and the like. Bandit has a bit of possession issues when it comes to those items. It is my fault though. Since she was a puppy we would 'play,' and I would take them away from her and make her 'flee' to earn them. As such she tends to hide them, as part of the game is that I will take them straight from her mouth in a show of dominance. This has created an issue with the puppy, as the puppy thinks they are general use, and Bandit still thinks they are 'fight to earn.' As such we have eliminated their use in the house. Kong toys, rope toys, bones and training treats are all fine with no sign on aggression. Bandit is very vocal in her play, with short barks and growls. She will pounce like a cat and dance when she wants to play. When playing tug-of-war, she will growl like a mad dog when you go nose to nose with her. This is all show, and I have instilled this in her, as it makes her appear mean, when anyone that knows her knows she is a baby. Brigand is not quite understanding of Bandit's play methods, but she will participate in three way tug-of-war and chase. I do have to participate in tug-of-war at this time due to how aggressive we play. There is a lot of neck snapping and I will physically lift Bandit off the floor or swing her from side to side. She returns in kind. As she more than triples Brigand's weight, I am the intermediary so both sides can play to their level and content. Feeding has become fine with no food aggression. Save for the cat. He wants his food first, and now. Right now. We have brought an old wire kennel in and set it up in the kitchen, we keep the door open and Brigand understands it is her space, she sleeps and eats there, but we keep her free 90% of the time, unless we leave the house. Bandit was crate trained until the age of one. She will enter the crate even now with no hesitation, but again, it stays open nearly all the time. She is grasping 'sit.' She understands the bells mean 'go outside,' though she has yet to learn to ring them. Bandit will ring them for her. She is not an unintelligent dog, but Bandit does hold the superior intellect. To the point I am even surprised. There is the bell ringing for instance, Bandit will ring the bell for Brigand, and there is behavior etiquette. If Brigand bites or jumps, and is told 'no' more than once, Bandit will dominate her. Bandit is more than happy to show off her tricks in an attempt to show Brigand how to behave, as in training for 'sit.' Brigand has grasped 'fetch' with a gusto, and we have balls and frisbees outside. She enjoys this a lot, and unlike Bandit, will give the ball or frisbee back without being prompted. The 'Girls' as they have become known work in tandem. We have a tandem lead for their collars to go to a single leash. They accept this and have not caused any issues on walks. They go outside in tandem, and come inside in tandem. She is a more patient dog than Bandit. I do believe this comes down to her more normal intellect. She will sit and wait for her command and look at you quizzically until shown what do do. Bandit however will intuitively discern what you desire and go from there. It is an interesting change. The cat is not highly impressed. We have not suffered any outright violence, and we are now at the point of indifference. Bandit is quick to offer a reassuring lick when required, as they are very close. Brigand is fascinated with Bongo, and when he does choose to be on her level, she wants nothing more than to give him kisses and discover more about him. The couch is also no longer fit for more than one human at a time. Both dogs have made it their home and will cuddle to either side of the single 'two leg' that can find space on it. This is especially amusing during naps. Overall, we are doing great and I think things look great for the future. Though I am interested to see how our 'violent' tug-of-war sessions evolve when Brigand outweighs Bandit by twenty pounds.1 point

When I went last Thursday, they were rising big time. I threw a blue winged olive and a bh olive wooly as my dropper. They killed they wooly, but never touched the blue winged olive. I think it might've been the weight of my dropper that kept them from hitting it. It would only stay on the surface a few seconds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Will she be keeping her Tennessee driver's license and have an address of permanent residence in Tennessee? Car registered in Tennessee? I really see this as no different than a person who lives in Tennessee but travels for extended periods of time for work out of state. Until you establish residency in the other state, obtain a driver's license there, set up a permanent address there, you are not a resident of that state. As always, I am not an attorney. I'd ask one.1 point

With a 100 yard zero you will need less than 30 MOA, 27.9 to be exact, total to get to 1,000. That is using a 140 Amax at ~2,840 fps. 900 yards is 23.4 moa with a 100 yard zero Total drop at 1,000 is 293".1 point

We can second guess motivations all afternoon long. I hate it when people second guess mine, so I guess I try to give others the same courtesy. But, it still stands that if we had other businesses with a storefront on practically every corner in America making an effort to hire veterans - for whatever the reason - we'd have a much smaller problem. I'm not waving their flag because I love the company or their coffee (even though that sausage sandwich is pretty good when you're on the road), but because their actions and communications back up their trying to do the right thing: https://www.starbucks.com/careers/veterans Call Operation Stand Down here in Nashville - they're also a great organization to get involved with. They'll tell you about pointing their vets to places like Starbucks as they work on things like housing, medical needs, etc. They've got schooling benefits, too which ought to let you defer using GI Bill education benefits.1 point

I'd pick a Sig hands down. Much easier to find parts for and work on. If it's just a range toy, then I'd pick a Witness Elite Match over a CZ. Better trigger and better reset out of the box.1 point

Not really, we just understand the likelihood of an issue is minimal and that unlike the movies, we're not important enough for foreign governments to send their equivalent to the CIA to hack into our systems, nor will thieves come in with black vans, repelling gear and glass cutters to access the house. Common sense goes a long way with technology.1 point
