  1. If I do this run this will be the last Protech TGO knife that is done The Dark angel is a fantastic knife and will be around the same price point as all other TGO knives have been, far less than any Microtech can be had for Dave is going to come up with a sample Prototype when he does if I like it I will post pictures of it here

  2. The options on that ARX 100 shows what a company can do when they really try to give their customers what they want. Barrel swaps with no tools, charging handle flips to either side, ejects either side, 3 mag release points, folding stock that fires while folded, spring loaded snap down sights, 4 picatinny rails, multiple sling attachment points, uses AR mags, minimal lube points and breaks down fast. I haven’t seen one, but the video makes it look very impressive. Kudos to the Engineering department.

  3. I had posted awhile back about the Taurus PT-111 9mm I had bought. I have taken it to the range on several occasions and fired several hundred rounds through it. I have enjoyed it immensely. The trigger does have a rather long pull before firing (training gets one used to the pull) but it does have a short reset and follow-up shots are easy. Even one-handed shots are comfortable. I did replace the stock dual recoil spring assembly with an all stainless steel version from Lakeline, LLC. I am considering buying some tritium night sights from them to put on the gun. It has been a reliable pistol. So much so that I bought me a Alien Gear Super Cloak 3.0 iwb holster for it. It conceals really good with my new holster. I will say that wearing the gun next to the skin with an iwb can be slightly uncomfortable with the aggressive texturing on the grip. I have read a lot of great reviews (albeit a few negative ones) about this gun. I had been reluctant to consider Taurus pistols as a purchase due to the negative reviews I have read and heard about them. Their QC seems to have improved with the PT-111 Gen 2. If you are looking for a decent 9mm compact pistol which can hold 12+1 rounds then I highly suggest giving this gun a try. I paid roughly $280 for it at my local Bass Pro store. I have seen them on PSA for $209.

  5. Would there be any interest in the next TGO knife if it was a Dark Angel OTF Protech knife? for those of you that may not know, OTF out the front knife instead of out the side opening

  6. Guys I've got a few new guns to learn about, left to me by my Granddad. Any comments on what I've got here appreciated. Don't know much about them and have no idea how old or valuable they are. I do know that someone has been in the trigger on Winchester, because that trigger is scary sensitive! One is missing a front bead, I'll need to replace that. The winchester has a few rust spots. And it looks like he intended to refinish / re-blue the barrel as it's been rubbed with steel wool or something. Need to look at how to best handle that. Winchester Model 97, Mossburg 500C and a Marlin JM Stamped Glenfield. Appreciate any comments.

  7. Irish Viagra . . . . . An Irish woman of advanced age visited her physician to ask his advice on reviving her husband's libido . . . . "What about trying Viagra?" asked the doctor. "Not a chance" she replied. "He won't even take an aspirin". "Not a problem," said the doctor. "Give him an Irish Viagra.” "What on Earth is Irish Viagra?" she asked. "It's Viagra dissolved in his morning cup of coffee. He won't even taste it. Let me know how it goes," he said. She called the doctor the very next afternoon. "How did it go?" he asked. "Oh faith, bejaysus and begorrah, doctor, it was terrible. Just horrid, I tell ya! I'm beside meself!" "Oh, no! What in the world happened?" "Well, I did the deed, Doctor, just as you advised. I put the Viagra in his morning coffee, and he drank it. Well, you know, it took effect almost immediately . . . . . he jumped straight up out of his chair with a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye, and his pants a-bulging. Then, with one fierce swoop of his arm, he sent the cups saucers, and everything else that was on the table flying across the room, ripped me clothes to tatters and passionately took me then and there, right on top of the table. T’was a nightmare, I tell ya, an absolute nightmare!" “Why so terrible?" asked the doctor. "Wasn't the sex good?" "Freakin' jaysus, it was the best sex I've had in me last 25 years, but sure as I'm sittin here, doctor, I'll never be able to show me face in Starbucks again!"

  8. Ahhhh Well that is not my big skill. Great for you. I guess mine is scrounging. I have a knack for finding things or seeing a new purpose in things. My wife just calls it hoarding. Lol Did you see the short segments they played as commercials during the 1st season of the spinoff?

  12. I could not have said it better my friend, I have owned plenty of Microtechs over the years but I continue to not deal them and that should say volumes to the masses why I love Protech so much

  14. I'd get ammo that's specifically 7.61x51 to start with. Cheap bulk .308 like Wolf is probably ok too. I would not use any sort of modern hunting type .308 with muzzle velocity more than 2700 or so.

  15. My Dark Angel is a much better OTF than my Microtech. The single action of the ProTech is superior in operation to that of the microtech which has been a continual problem.

  16. Oh mamma. Yeah, an OTF would be awesome.

  17. So yesterday I found this little fella stuck in the median, he was trying to get off the road but was scared to move because of all the cars zipping by. As soon as I seen him I pulled over and he was able to get off the road. I called to him and he cautiously walked up to me then acted like we were old best friends. I was going to find him a home but as I proofread the advertisement I realized how much of a good boy he really is and by that time he has already weaseled his way into our hearts. I have spent most of my life with "bulldogs" and they tend to be harder to work with but this guy is absolutely amazing in how quickly he is learning. He is the complete opposite of every bulldog puppy I have ever had. Even for being only six months he is extremely well mannered. Spent all night in a crate without so much as a peep all night. Loves praise and is already trying to please us. He listens well for a puppy, all you have to do is tell him "no" once and he stops immediately. Then he comes and sits at our feet waiting for his praise. After 20+ years of bulldogs this dog seems like the Albert Einstein of the canine world. It is hard for us to believe he was not someone else's dog so we have put the word out hoping to find the owners. If we can't find his family then this little guy has hit the doggy lottery. We keep telling ourselves that we are just going to "foster" him until we find him a permanent home but in reality that has probably already happened even though we won't admit it yet. His name is probably going to be Sam.

  19. I carried and traded pocket knives from 1st grade on. I remember getting in trouble for knife trading during reading in 1st grade. The teacher took up the knife until recess. Then I got it back. I also remember carrying my 12ga single shot to school in my car to go squirrel hunting after school when I was a sophomore. I never hurt no one, and no one seemed to care.

  21. I never took any of these to school but you've caused me to go back and search the net for some of my childhood treasures. The Mattel Shootin' Shell Pistol was right up there with my Multi Pistol 09. The loading gate opened and the two piece rounds were loaded into the cylinder and then you dumped out the the case and reloaded them over and over if you could find the projectile after firing them. They also made round caps with adhesive that stuck on the base of the cartridge for additional realistic sound and smoke.

  24. They are great fun to shoot and pretty fast handling. I outfitted mine with vintage buttstock mag pouch. Adds a bit of weight when you put two full mags in it, but I like the way it looks and it's handy. You'll want an original type sling as well. Killed a skunk with mine a couple of years ago. Dropped him in his tracks.

  26. Congratulations! They're great little rifles and loads of fun. Just clean and lube as with any other semi-auto rifle. Oil what turns and grease what slides. I don't recommend trying to disassemble the bolt or removing the gas piston. Special tools are required for this and it almost impossible to do it without them. Also, the gas piston nut is staked in place. Best to just leave it alone unless absolutely necessary. Stick with USGI mags. There's plenty of them out there. Many can be found new in the wrap and they're reasonably priced. I also recommend picking up a copy of the military field manual to learn the ins and outs of use and maintenance. Search the web for deals on bulk ammo. Trust me, you'll need it.

  27. Now you're making me feel old, maybe I am compared to some here. I remember all of these and I guess I can thank Mattel for my never ending passion for firearms and such. One of my Christmas gifts was the set below and I would say it was 1966-7. The back up derringer went in to the grip of the pistol and I still have the derringer to this day, sure wish I still had the whole set.

  28. I'm not much of a handgun or shotgun guy, or even civilian rifle person. Nope. It's milsurps that float my boat, and for the modern stuff that doesn't ever get to the civilian market 'cause it's TOOOOO SCARRREEEEEYYYYY... Well, AR's to take the place of M-16's, and Polytech M-14S to take the place of the real thang. And so on.

  29. Be Aware: A person not licensed under the Gun Control Act (GCA) and not prohibited from acquiring firearms may order a firearm from an out-of-state source and obtain the firearm if an arrangement is made with a licensed dealer in the purchaser's state of residence for the purchaser to obtain the firearm from the dealer. [18 U.S.C 922(a)(3) and (5), 922(b)(3), 27 CFR 178.29] The ATF's Code of Federal Regulations, Part 178 - Commerce in Firearms and Ammunition is available at the following link: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CFR-2000-title27-vol1/pdf/CFR-2000-title27-vol1-part178.pdf What This Means: Essentially this means that it is legal for private parties residing in different US States to engage in the private transaction of a firearm, but only if the transfer is done through a licensed dealer (FFL) in the purchaser's state of residence. The FFL in the purchaser's state will be responsible for receiving shipment of the firearm and facilitating the background check and fulfilling all other legal requirements applicable in the purchaser's state before allowing the firearm to transfer to the purchaser. It also means that a seller in one state cannot legally ship or otherwise convey or transfer ownership of a firearm to a recipient in another state without going through a licensed dealer (FFL). Bypassing this process would be in violation the Federal Gun Control Act. There are many ways available on the Internet to locate a licensed dealer (FFL) in the United States, easily obtained by using an Internet search engine, such as Google. One such source might be https://fflgundealers.net/. Our Opinion: Our opinion is that a person selling on TGO to an out-of-state individual should enter into that transaction with extreme caution and ensure that Federal and State laws are being followed to the letter. While interstate Private Party sales are possible and in some instances make sense, we would recommend trying to limit your sales to in-state buyers for the sake of simplicity. Consider that there are various ways that an interstate transfer could potentially "go wrong" and weigh your risks against the potential gains.
