Went outside this morning and saw one of those black cougars we here so much about...5 points

So yesterday I found this little fella stuck in the median, he was trying to get off the road but was scared to move because of all the cars zipping by. As soon as I seen him I pulled over and he was able to get off the road. I called to him and he cautiously walked up to me then acted like we were old best friends. I was going to find him a home but as I proofread the advertisement I realized how much of a good boy he really is and by that time he has already weaseled his way into our hearts. I have spent most of my life with "bulldogs" and they tend to be harder to work with but this guy is absolutely amazing in how quickly he is learning. He is the complete opposite of every bulldog puppy I have ever had. Even for being only six months he is extremely well mannered. Spent all night in a crate without so much as a peep all night. Loves praise and is already trying to please us. He listens well for a puppy, all you have to do is tell him "no" once and he stops immediately. Then he comes and sits at our feet waiting for his praise. After 20+ years of bulldogs this dog seems like the Albert Einstein of the canine world. It is hard for us to believe he was not someone else's dog so we have put the word out hoping to find the owners. If we can't find his family then this little guy has hit the doggy lottery. We keep telling ourselves that we are just going to "foster" him until we find him a permanent home but in reality that has probably already happened even though we won't admit it yet. His name is probably going to be Sam.3 points

My memory is good. I remember what CTD has done before. This doesn't make up for it.3 points

They are sissified by design. Demonize firearms and they will be the evil, not socialism. I'd like to see a resurgence in normalcy to include rifle racks in trucks and a society that doesn't have to worry about getting their rifles stolen.3 points

I never took any of these to school but you've caused me to go back and search the net for some of my childhood treasures. The Mattel Shootin' Shell Pistol was right up there with my Multi Pistol 09. The loading gate opened and the two piece rounds were loaded into the cylinder and then you dumped out the the case and reloaded them over and over if you could find the projectile after firing them. They also made round caps with adhesive that stuck on the base of the cartridge for additional realistic sound and smoke.2 points

OK, I'm the one who usually derails threads . . . . let's get back to your kids taking these mid 60's toys to school . . . .2 points

For anyone who has never shot here - you are missing out. Ryan always has fun and interesting stages, is VERY friendly to new shooters (and HEAVY METAL!!!) and is the best value in 3 gunning around. 5 stages for $25, with rifle shots out to 230yds max. You can't beat it. Stop waiting "until you are ready", and bring the gear that you have out next month and have fun. Here's a taste:2 points

As a member of society, you can be part of the change you want to see within it. I've had a rifle rack in my truck for nearly 3 years now. Strange how those around me went from thinking it was odd to thinking it was normal over time. I've trained the scouts I work with that it OK to have a fire extinguisher, a rifle, and an extremely well stocked FAK in your car/truck as an adult. It's called "being prepared". I just moved the rifle rack to my new truck in fact over the weekend.2 points

No offense, but every time you post it becomes an increasingly more ridiculous arrangement that would make Rube Goldberg shake his head in disbelief. I am a fan of Occam's Razor. If you aren't familiar, it is a problem-solving principle that holds that the solution with the least number of components is the correct one. If you apply it to the completely absurd scenario you're painting for everyone, the most simplistic solution is to avoid it completely. Don't think that I am being inhospitable, but you're a complete newcomer and all seven of your posts to date are about a situation that anyone with common sense wouldn't partake in. I can't decide if we're being trolled, fished or if you're just one of those people who seems relatively intelligent but lacking in the aforementioned common sense. No matter what it is, I'm closing this thread. You should probably seek legal counsel before you do any of the crap you've described to us here. From an attorney, not a deputy or a police officer or the Internet.2 points

Why is society so sissified today? Because our kids cannot play with toys like we did when we were young! Proof . . . . (no batteries needed . . . .)!1 point

Also, unless I'm mistaken, their "Eotech" sights appear to be on backwards.1 point

I carried and traded pocket knives from 1st grade on. I remember getting in trouble for knife trading during reading in 1st grade. The teacher took up the knife until recess. Then I got it back. I also remember carrying my 12ga single shot to school in my car to go squirrel hunting after school when I was a sophomore. I never hurt no one, and no one seemed to care.1 point

I just wonder since they are like 10 miles away from DC, why they have not just ran over there. At the very least to loot some stuff. The Naval yard is close, plus who knows how many troops ended up there to defend the Pentagon and White House. That is a lot of guns, armament, and ammo that could be lying around. I mean if a whole carnival of weapon carrying walkers is just sitting around in the middle of no where, what is in the other places? I think they may be avoiding DC so that the show does not have to CGI or build the well known buildings. I kind of feel like part of the stuff they are doing is to keep the budget down and maybe squeeze out a few more seasons' worth of contract.1 point

You can actually delete that. I just forgot to on that post. I went back and edited it out. I do not use it for file management, just for posting pics. One thing I really like about is the way it lets you post pics from a container or folder. If you upload 7 pics of a particular gun it puts them in a container. From there you can share individual pics or with one link you can share all pics. For the images below I just hit the copy button one time and it posts all the individual pics.1 point

Good luck with your surgery Grunt67. I had a very similar surgery about 10 years ago. The PT was tough, I'll not lie to you, but it's very important and can't be stressed enough. I got full motion back in my shoulder and made a full recovery and I owe it all to the Physical Therapist I had. She worked my butt off and if I didn't do my home exercises I got a butt chewing....and she was only about 25 or so..LOL.1 point

Mine says "Max total size 19.98MB · Max file size 7MB" Seems like David may have said that he raised it even more than that for a while, but I can't find that post. - OS1 point

It isn't unless you're looking for it really. In my previous vehicle I had the headliner recovered in black and it practically disappeared. Without prompting though from what I've seen most people standing next to a vehicle look down into it rather than up at it's headliner.1 point

Myself and several others use SmugMug to host photos. It's an inexpensive way to backup all your photos and videos, and can be turned into a business if you're so inclined. if you decide to use it, here's a discount code that will save us both a few bucks. https://secure.smugmug.com/signup?Coupon=VlcPcQWTe7dG61 point

Had my left shoulder tear and bone spur removed the 13 Jan. Took sling off when stitches removed. Doing pt now to get full motion in arm and shoulder. Let mine go for a year and a half before surgery lost a lot of muscle use, pain with the pt now but could not elevate arm enough to shoot long guns. Being an old grunt you will do fine with the pain and surgery. Best of luck.1 point

Yeah I remember CTD's stunts, too, when everything started going crazy. And several other prominent distributors. But like Oh Shoot said... and I'm no angel on that regard. I sold 5-6 AR's to suckers who hadn't planned ahead. Made money. Was figuring on doing it again when Hillary won the election. But I still thank God she didn't win!1 point

My philosophy is simpler as my bucks are quite amoral -- I don't buy from anybody when it's a ripoff, but will when it's a good deal. And yeah, pissed about the ten clams too. - OS1 point

Now you're making me feel old, maybe I am compared to some here. I remember all of these and I guess I can thank Mattel for my never ending passion for firearms and such. One of my Christmas gifts was the set below and I would say it was 1966-7. The back up derringer went in to the grip of the pistol and I still have the derringer to this day, sure wish I still had the whole set.1 point

You MUST be a licensed armed guard to protect persons or property in an official capacity and that sounds like exactly what you are doing. It makes no distinction whether you are doing it for a friend or a complete stranger. Also, slapping someone is an assault and unless they tried to harm you first. Slap someone first and you will go to jail for it. Even if someone is trespassing you cannot touch them unless they resist your request to leave the property. But even so if I had someone refusing to leave my property I would let LE handle it instead of risking an escalation. And under no circumstances should you draw your firearm unless you ARE in imminent danger or being seriously hurt or injured. Drawing a firearm without it could get you charged with aggravated assault, especially if you point the firearm. Law Enforcement can get away with it but a civilian will learn a very hard lesson if they draw their firearm without justification. What kind of even is it that you are expecting drunks and meth heads? Sounds to me like a really bad idea to be around anyone like that. Are you a resident of Tennessee? Your IP comes from New York. We have had a rash of northerners coming here asking odd questions, hoping this isn't the same.1 point

Some call it a Thumb Wheel and others a Side Wheel and it does adjust Paralax. Ideally it enables you to fine tune adjust with your thumb while looking through the scope.1 point
