  2. I had this since new (Oct 96), but just got tired of it. I got rid of it a couple weeks ago. With Goodyear skaterbacks (245's), it ran (2.04 60ft) 8.7 in the 1/8 and 13.5 in the 1/4 with a aluminum block PI swap and bolt-ons. I later stuck 315's on the back and 255's up front in machined FR500 style wheels. Mods list... 3. Altered is a long term project that I enjoy gathering parts for. Wagon is a 7.40 1/8 mi street car that hurts a lot of feelings. Lol

  8. Here is the beginning of mine. It is a home built Caterham. The passenger tub will be skinned in aluminum and I am debating on either leaving the rest completely open for everyone to see or skinning it. I am seriously considering skinning it in canvas, like a WWI plane, then use resin to add some rigidity. I was hoping to have it on wheels today but not sure I can get that far ahead. The frame weighs ~120 pounds and it should weigh less than 1,300 pounds with me in it. And with ~300RWHP from a 2.3 turbo it should do 0-60 in under 3 seconds and the quarter in under 10 but this isn't being built for straight line blasts but for going around corners. It will spend a lot of time on the Dragon when complete. It will have a warmed over 2.3 turbo from a 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. I will probably end up building my own intake at some point. I plan on building the fuel tank unless I can find an off the shelf one that will fit. It will have a full race built C4 auto with Kevlar bands and clutches. The rear came out of a 1998 Mustang and has 2.79 gears which is about perfect, 1st will get me to ~55 mph, 2nd to ~90mph and 3rd will get me to ~135 mph. For wheels I am using some 17" Cobra wheels. I will be using PimpX as the ECU so it will be completely tunable and allow me to setup some sort of traction control, launch control as well as map how and when the turbo kicks in. Turbo cars are normally kind of peaky, that is the power comes on strong and fast, so with a digital boost controller the ECU can flatten the power band some and make it feel like a normally aspirated or supercharged car. Power steering will be an electronic unit from a Saturn Vue. I have an electronic controller to allow me to tune the steering resistance. I should be able to let the ECO tune the resistance according to speed so when I am pulling into a parking spot there will be no resistance while at speed it will offer some resistance to prevent over corrections. It is as bare bones as I can get it.

  9. Well, if you include had, rather than have, then this is the last one. I also had a 2008 GT500 boosted to 650HP. This picture was taken on The Tail of The Dragon.

  10. Well here they are....my versions of a Karambit. First off is a matched pair or 1/4" thick 1095 carbon steel. The have African Blackwood scales and SS pins. It's about 9 1/4" long with a 4 1/4" blade. It has a pattern etched into the blade but my picture taking apparently sticks cause it's a bit hard to see it. It has thumb and heel jimping and is a stout and dangerous blade. You can see some of the rock pattern ground into the spine as well. They come with black kydex sheaths. Note....there are some lines on a couple of pictures that are not on the blades. Next is a lighter pair made from 3/16" thick 1095 carbon steel with a different handle shape and Bubinga scales and mosaic pins. The over all grip is less that the previous set but still very good. It also has a pattern etched into the blade and slightly less rock pattern grinding on the spine. It does have thumb jimping on the spine as well. It is also 9 1/4" long but the blade is a bit longer at 4 3/4". It also comes with black kydex sheaths.

  11. I'm at my wit's end with my 550. The last 5 hours I've spent reloading have probably netted about 100 rounds. Today was no exception. I spent over an hour to get 32 rounds, which used 232 primers. How the hell does that happen you might ask. Well, I'll tell you. I loaded 32 rounds with only about 20 problems before I ran out of primers, then I put 100 primers in the tube only to have them end up all over my garage when they fell straight through. I thought it might have been because I had the handle down, so I put it back up and watched the next 100 do the same thing. Now, before I buy 10,000lbs of C4 and take this thing out to the dessert and blow it into pieces that even CSI mother ********** Miami wouldn't be able to positively identify, can anyone give me an idea what the problem might be? The last two times I've reloaded I've had to order parts before I could continue. If I have to order another part, I'm going the C4 route.

  12. I stopped by a friends pawn shop today to browse & spotted something that I apparently couldn't live without for another day. A stainless Ruger P89 in 9mm in really nice condition. I've never owned or even had the chance to shoot one, but most of what I hear from owners is positive. It certainly has a hefty feel & I like the grips. I regret selling my P95DC a few years back without ever shooting it. I'll make sure this one gets some range time.

  13. Those are Galils (or clones) on the table, he is holding a Sig 550. The Barret is the closest in the foreground, that does indeed look like a integrally suppressed Sterling behind him, and the gun closest to the camera appears to be a Barrett. I can't tell what is just above the Barrett.

  14. I just assumed that Father Gabriel was entrusted to bury various caches of stuff. In other words, if Rick were to hold back stuff from Negan, he wouldn't tell everyone his plans, as someone like Spencer would have ratted him out. Other than Michonne and Carl, Rick seems to be putting the most trust in Father Gabriel lately. He trusts Gabriel with the life of his infant daughter, so it stands to reason that he might have given Gabriel a mission to gradually hide some stuff. Didn't Gabriel back up Rick when Rick told Negan that Maggie was dead? I think he showed the graves to Negan. I assumed that they had buried some supplies in a false grave (maybe even under an old Walker corpse) as some insurance against Negan. In the latest episode, Gabriel had some type of map with circles on it, which I assumed to be his caches. If I am right that Rick and Gabriel have a secret mission, then it would make sense for Rick to play dumb and give Gabriel the benefit of the doubt when everyone else assumed that Gabriel had abandoned them.

  17. It sounds like the colored tip on the end of your primer tube is missing. You'll have to take your primer tube out and shine a light from the bottom side and see if it is stuck in there and has somehow come off the primer tube.

  18. If you haven't already, I'd call Dillon and discuss it with them. It is my understanding that their customer support is outstanding. For what it's worth, I've had my 550B for about a year, and never experienced what you are describing. In fact it has worked flawlessly since I first set it up. OK....I just went and looked at mine, and the only way I can see the primers coming out is if the Primer Feed Stop Pin, (part #14051 on the drawing), is missing or stuck back. That's on page five of my instruction book.

  19. I have really been enjoying my HK Patrol in D2, but I'm not a heavy user. From what I read, your best off to strop D2 regularly so you sharpen much less frequently. Of course my AUS8 knives dull quicker, but stropping works well on it too.

  20. Normal, moderate, general pocket knife type usage....? You'll never know the difference. D2 is tougher and will likely hold an edge better, but will be correspondingly more difficult to get really sharp in the first place.

  21. I just have to say that I think the contrast is funny. Here are all these military style guns, guys in camo uniforms, and tires stacked around. Your friend looks like he could be out at the mall. I hope he had fun though. I would love to get some time with guns like that.

  22. As mentioned before they are "overbuilt" and reliable but due to the high bore axis they do have a little more muzzle flip than some other designs. But as far as guns that can be found at a "good price" the Ruger P series guns are a solid choice. They were very popular back then with folks not looking to spend $500 or more for a Glock or a SW 3rd Gen or a Beretta or Sig. And for folks looking for a perfectly functional hi cap service pistol on a budget today they are still a good economy choice . As to the Ruger P series being a popular choice "back in the day", I went to Prentice Cooper to shoot some on Dec 26 of 1997 and it seems like everyone in that area must have gotten a P89 or a P94 for Christmas because there were like 8 to 10 guys there with brand new P89s or P94s in the box. That was back when the range was essentially a glorified ditch with 2 shooting tables so you had to wait in line to shoot. So you got to see what everyone was shooting. Nice find!

  24. I've only had one fast vehicle and it was a 1970 Chevy pickup with a 400 4 bolt main. My uncle bought it from a friend of his, then sold it to me. His friend built race car motors and was known in SE MO for his talent with GM motors especially the 400. It scared my uncle a little for me to have it since I was only 19 and he remembered how stupid he would have been with that much power in a truck that young. I never wrecked it but I never left a stopped position in a calm manner either lol. I'll try and find an old picture and scan it. It was not a beautiful truck, rather plain looking which added to the surprise. The guy who built it also had an exact duplicate of it in his garage that was showroom quality with even more horsepower. It would make a grown man cry when he started it up and you could eat off of any part of the truck it was so clean. Man I miss that truck!

  25. I have owned many fast classic cars in my life. My favorite was my 67 chevy p/u. I went through and got every Hp out of a 350 i could and that thing was faster than most of the cars brought to the strip I raced at. I knew my limitations but did not loose many races. I havent had a fun car since the kids, that is about to change! I am tired of driving a minivan. Wife finnaly agreed to me building an everyday International Scout. She has no idea what she just agreed to. I will be picking up the LS1 engine and trans this week and will be looking at a couple of Scouts next week. It is going to be a lot of work just on the drive train. I will be slapping a cheap paint job on it just to not offend the HOA more than I need to. I am hoping by summer it will be on the road! 26. The top round in the mag rim does get chewed up by the ejector over time. I just rotate it out every so often. As I said, I'm not so much worried about my kids, it's the friends they have around. You are right about cycling the action but it's a extra step that has to be done before the gun will fire. I could see a kid, playing with a gun, accidentally hit the safety and pull the trigger. You pretty much have to be deliberate to cycle the action, then hit the safety, and pull the trigger. It's still not 100% safe but what is? I don't really like the fact that I have to cycle the gun if needed in the middle of the night but it's a disadvantage that I think I need to take. Where I am located, it is highly unlikely that a home invasion will occur before I have time to respond. I live right in the middle of 45ac with a 1/4 mile long drive and dogs that will alert if somebody gets within a couple 100yd of the house. The couple of times I have responded, I met the people before they even made it down the drive. Both times turned out uneventful but I was at the ready.

  27. The ones that are similar on the table look like early and later versions of the South African R4 - basically a Galil copy. The one the guy is holding up looks like a SIG 550. The large barrel with the muzzle brake in the foreground looks like a Barrett M82A1. Don't know what the wood stocked rifle is immediately adjacent to the Barrett. ETA: the dark brown tubs on the table to the extreme left of the photo look like typical South African ammo containers.

  29. I'll try to be succinct. 1. I was on the open track at Beech Bend for my third run in Sept 2008. 2. After shifting to 4th and at WOT something gave way. It appeared from the audience that I blew a head gasket, but I think that it was the smaller coolant hose that goes under the harmonic balancer. 3. Radiator fluid dumped all over my rear tires placing me on a skating rink. 4. I crossed lanes and hit the wall somewhere south of 100 MPH. I bounced off the wall, crossed back over and struck the wall for my lane. 5. Car totaled. I hit hard enough that the 14" front brake rotor on the left side broke in half. I walked away badly bruised, but at least I walked away.

  31. Funny, I only own two Kimbers. There are other manufacturers of 1911's I prefer way more, and for a variety of reasons. One of my two Kimbers is a 10mm, the other is a .38 Super . . . .

  32. The Show of Shows in Louisville next month is a HUGE military show. It is well worth the drive IMO. I am a life member of the TN Military Collectors and it is a nice show... but I do wish that it would become a much larger show. There are nearly 2000 tables at the SOS http://www.sosovms.com/Show_of_Shows/
