100% disagree with you Ken. Just because it is legal, doesn't mean you should do it. You're at work, two guys walk in wearing black balaclavas (they were), wearing body armor (they were) with go pro mounted and another one videoing (they were), wearing a side arm (they were) and carrying a loaded rifle at the ready position on their front (they were), and you would just sit there and mind them no attention? I can assure you there are very few places those guys would not have been shot, they're lucky they found one of those places. What happens when someone barges into a restaurant wielding a machete in their hand and you're sitting nearby with your family at the table. I'd bet the cost of that meal that you wouldn't just sit there and continue eating, you're going to protect your family. Even though it's legal to walk around with a machete in your hand. Those officers are doing what we would do, protecting themselves and their family.5 points

A hit with a .22 short causes more damage than a miss with a 20mm.5 points

I carried a 22lr loaded with the 60 grain Aguila SSS rounds as my last resort pistol. Even out of a 2" barrel they will penetrate ~8" in gel and tumble along the way. It was not the best thing to carry but it is way better than a pointy stick or club.5 points

I am gonna sound crazy compared to most but I carry my g29 on my person and my 20 in my purse. 2 extra mags for my 29 and 3 for my 20. I also carry my 2 GT Kiradishi knives as well.4 points

Ah, the age-old argument that has no answer. Did anybody read the OP...in General Chat? I'd be proud and walking tall carrying nothing more a Bersa Thunder .22. I can pump 400 grains of lead into something with a quickness.3 points

Just because you can doesn't mean that you should. Their intent to scare the police was quite evident, and they are lucky they didn't get shot.3 points

.380 Like Dolomite says it beats a sharp stick. I'd carry a full-size 10mm with 3 mags if I thought it was necessary and feasible, but it's not. I have the mindset that you can't prevent everything. If it's my time to go, I'll fight like hell with what I have.3 points

These idiots are lucky they weren't shot. I'm so sick of these open carry clowns trying to make a point by carrying out allegedly legal actions just to prove a point. All they are doing is instigating and testing limits to get attention instead of peacefully open carrying. People like this are some of the 2A's worst enemies as they make all gun owners look bad when this crap hits the news. Morons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

The “legal bar” in most states I’m sure would be covered by “A reasonable person believing that someone was in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm.” The “Reasonable person” would be a Judge or jury. Plenty of people have said they shot someone because they were scared. For some it worked; others went to prison. Joe McKnight was unarmed and shot in a road rage incident. The shooter did not deny shooting him and said he was scared. He wasn’t immediately charged, but has since been charged with manslaughter. We will have to wait to see how that works out. (As far as your question about can you just shoot someone) Had the barrel of that rifle moved in the direction of those Officers they would have shot him; I know I would have. And I would bet you couldn’t find a jury in the land to convict them of anything. Those guys are only alive because they didn’t move and did what they were told. Teach your kids to stay alive. Teach them that if you threaten someone with a gun (real or perceived), cops or citizens; it could cost them their life. Dead is dead and the fact there is a misunderstanding doesn’t change that.2 points

Over the years I have seen a lot of folks with holes in them. Most that were still alive had been shot with .380, 9mm, .38 & .357. The one caliber that put the most bodies in the morgue was .22. Only once did it drop the recipient in place. The other times they ran, walked or stumbled varying distances before dropping or stopping. In every case but the one, the entry was not fatal but the .22 bounced around and hit something vital that caused their demise.2 points

I keep a .32 gun in my pocket for fun. I'll carry a bigger gun from time to time as location and wardrobe allows, but I haven't been to a non .gov building yet where my p32 wasn't able to go with me.2 points

With the way the world is on edge about attacks They are very lucky someone including the police didn't open up on them both. I hope they are both charged with a Felony and loose their 2nd Amendment priviledges because they have proven the are not mentally stable enough to own a gun..................JMHO2 points

This.^ I usually do something similar on Tuesday nights, but I wait to get in the privacy of my own home. At least now that they dropped the charges from the last time I took a Tuesday night out on the town I don't have to go 'introduce myself' to my neighbors the next time I move.2 points

I have all 3, love all 3, and carry both 9's a lot. Normally, I carry the LCP if I am doing the pea shooter thing. It is a lot easier to hide than the 42, even though it's not near the gun.1 point

I have two 22 Semi auto's and I like both of them equally. If I'm out in the yard or going to the mailbox out by the road I carry 1 that holds 6 rounds and if I am going to grocery store I might carry my Phoenix cause it is 10 + 1 in the tube and back up magazine. If I go anyplace else I have one of my Bersa's with a back up mag or 2 . The 22 is an awesome round that many folks don't give any where near enough credit to...........jmho1 point

These weren’t guys conducting business; they had ill intent. However, the cops didn’t know what their intent was and acted appropriately. I have said here many times before I don’t support the Police wearing masks and suppressed uniforms. I have been on a lot of raids and never found the need to wear a mask. However, that has no impact on what these clowns did. Had I seen that I would have alerted everyone and headed to the armory for a rifle. No carried weapon is an immediate threat; until it is. You can’t ask a cop or a citizen to wait until a gun is pointed AT THEM to react; that’s ridiculous and goes against the way everyone is trained; cops, military and citizens. In a time when cops are under attack and active shooters on the rise; this was nothing less than reckless. We don’t need these kinds of people even pretending to represent us. They don’t represent me. This absolutely will not help any carry laws; it will cause more restrictions.1 point

I have a Hatsan AT44S Long QE 9 Shot – .25 Cal that I can hit a 50 cent piece with at 35 yards! It should to be able to kill Coyotes, Rabbits, Racoon, etc. There are numerous YouTube videos of others hunting with them. The external air tank at 4500psi was expensive, but a must if you plan to use the gun to hunt. You get about 18 shots before you really need to recharge the tank on the gun. There's an rifle in the truck for a reason, if I'm planning to enter a gunfight I'm bringing it. If not I'll likely have my 380 in my pocket as a last defense.1 point

I carry a 25ACP, laugh if you must, scouff if you want. I can get it out of my pocket, hide it in my hand, shoot it well with eather hand and hit the target. It is my get off me pistol. I do have pistols up to 44mag and 45 Colt. With the work I do I am on the ground on my side and back, not easy to have some thing bigger on my hip or in my pocket.1 point
