  1. Within the next 6 Weeks, I will be purchasing the best water cooled sharpening system on the market, a Tormek T8 What this means for you the customer, is that as well as sharpening on my Wicked Edge system I will be offering any size fixed blade knives, sizzors and eventually wood carving tool sharpening the Tormek system uses water to cool the steel and in no way can hurt the temper of any steel, also since the Goodmans Gun and knife show has moved to Lebanon, I will be getting a booth at every show that goes on when I am home, my prices on sharpening with my Tormek will be maybe $2.00 more that the guys with the grinding wheels that can damage the tempered steel while sharpening, and with that extra $2.00 a mirror polished Finish will be added As usual my Wicked Edge prices will be the same as they are as it is justified by the wear and tear on my system as well as the time it takes me to sharpen look for the Badass Blades Logo on a banner at future shows, come and meet me and get your knifes sharpened

  2. Considering what John Harris, the founder of TFA, says and does, they are very much about full 2d Amendment rights. They are currently pushing for constitutional carry and a lawsuit against knoxville over the parks law. So yeah.

  4. I was one of the lucky few to get one of the K11 carbines from Classic Arms' latest batches. Very pleased that it's not soaked in cosmoline, and that it has all matching numbers, and included the trifecta of accessories (sling, muzzle cap, and troop tag) Too bad the troop tag is not legible, but it does have a number matching the rifle, and the guy was in the army reserves and lived in Burgdorf. This rifle seems to be a conversion from the Cavalry Carbine Model 1905. Based on the fact that it's about 1/8" to 3/16" shorter than my K31. Also, it falls within the serial number range of the converted ones, in the year 1916. It has a "T" after the serial number, which I believe is an inspector stamp, and it has a P below the number with means the soldier kept his rifle. There's also a "35" stamped below the serial number, and the only thing I can come up with for that is if the rifle was refurbished at the factory in 1935.

  7. Um, well, garsh, thx. Note that about half of what I note about them are the gray areas though, so don't take anything from me as legally authoritative in any way, eh? And if I were writing them, there'd be few if any of them there gray areas. - OS

  8. Sounds more like "I'm trying to work a trade but the guy wants a ton of brass or 13 to seal the deal".

  9. I was looking around there, only found 26,000lbs lots. Glad you found that one, thanks! I will see what it takes to bid on it

  10. That's like 150,000 cases. What are you up to? Check govdeals.com. They used to auction massive lots of brass like that....some up at Ft. Campbell. Don't know if they still do or not.

  11. While not the easiest, the most effective thing TN permit holders can do is to replace the RINO politicians in our government.

  12. I figure since TGO David does this as a side job to keep us all a place to talk and post that I will defer to his decision on changes until he starts to sound like Castro or Stalin about things. I am not sure I love the new classifieds on my phone ( I have to go landscape to scroll), but on the PC, they are easy to scroll through. I am editing to add one thing. The only thing I see so far that might be nice in the classifieds is if we could filter/sort by location. That would only work if the poster added a location though. Being up here in East TN, all the Nashville and Memphis guns are out of my reach. Still like to look a d drool, but if I could filter or sort them to get me stuff closer to home it would help out.

  13. Technically, no. As Oh Shoot pointed out, termination or any other negative employment action taken against her because of having a lawfully possessed firearm in her own vehicle would allow her to sue for damages. In the real-world, the employer can simply take that exact same negative employment action up to and including termination, without giving a reason. An exception might be in a teacher's union contract where that can't happen, in which case the school system might have to provide a reason. It would depend on the terms of the employment contract. Even that wouldn't stop them from citing some other reason. It might be quite difficult to prove that the firearm was the reason for the negative employment action, but if it could be proven, then she can sue for damages. Of course all of that requires money, so the end result is that in most cases, I suspect that the employee is just fired and it never goes anywhere after that.

  14. It's my understanding that the state's which dropped reciprocity did so only for TN permit holders under 21. For those 21 and over, there is still reciprocity. Is this correct?

  15. None of us in Tennessee have 2nd amendment rights to carry recognized by the state. If we did we wouldn’t need a permit and everyone could carry. So yes, she either needs to abide by the policy or suffer the consequences.

  16. My mags were REALLY tight when new. Took several range trips before they would seat and the bolt would close 100% on a full mag. Now that I've got around 2k rounds through it all seem to have cleared up. Of my 10 mags it was worse with 4-5 of them than the others, I chalked this up to the others having been loaded/unloaded a few more times while I waited for the rest to come in.

  17. The one extra thing about 30-30 is thin case necks, proper lube will keep you from crashing them. Otherwise 30-30 is very easy. If your not needing to hunt with said ammo, 30-30 downloads very easy with pistol powders and plated bullets(or lead). It brings the reloading costs down into the pistol caliber range and perfectly acceptable for plinking. xTreme bullets sells flat nosed 150 and 170grn plated bullets, just need to be kept around 1500fps or below. Also, with h4895 you can load lower power rounds safely and save some powder but keep velocity nearer to factory ammo.

  18. Utah will get you WA, Nevada will get you MN, other than that no additional states that TN permit doesn't. Before losing these two states, there was to my knowledge no non-resident permit from any state that added anything to the TN lineup. - OS

  19. Horse pucky on whoever wrote it. http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/tncode/ Direct links don't work the way the frame site works, because you have to accept terms every time you visit. 21. I just found something on http://smartgunlaws.org/guns-in-vehicles-in-tennessee/ that says a person can legally have their loaded handgun in "A LAWFULLY POSSESSED VEHICLE" which tells me it doesn't have to be MY vehicle. Not sure whether that's a reliable website or not. Just thought maybe that would help in your replies

  22. Picked up this little booger on a trade for that SP5K. Have well under $3k in the deal total and it came with almost $1000 worth of ammo (mostly Barrett factory rounds). It's got the Bushnell 10x package on it from the factory & pelican case.

  24. There's not one. 300winmag was simply opining that with a permit we can have one on school property as long as it remains in the car, but it's a veritable free-for-all for our neighbors to the south. Oh Shoot is correct. It wouldn't violate any laws for her to keep one in her car at work, but it might violate an employment rule. Kind of like how it's not against the law to tell your boss you think he sucks, but it's a great way to get fired. However, as OS also pointed out, employers can no longer take action without opening themselves up to a lawsuit. Real-world circumstances though typically make most people play by their employer's rules, regardless of what the law does or doesn't say.

  25. The school carry law in this state is a joke. We have to go through a training course, range qualification, and wait a month for a permit and cannot carry outside our vehicles on school property. The permit should just be called a 'car gun permit' because that literally is what it is on school property. People in Alabama can buy pistol licenses on the spot in some counties and legally carry at their local school or college. No training no hassle, just pay a small fee and you are legal to carry down there pretty much everywhere.

  28. You would just be paying for a name then, PSA has some decent quality ARs, I see no difference between them and the Spikes, S&W ARs I have. Its just that you are paying for an AR that is priced right. If I didn't have the number of ARs I have right now, I would be getting one of theirs..still might, I have another wildcat I'm looking at.

  30. Yeah. Picture firing your rifle, it recoiling, and a sharp bullet tip resting against a live primer in the round ahead of it. See the potential problem? I'm not sure it's ever happened, but it would be exciting if it did.
