  1. Within the next 6 Weeks, I will be purchasing the best water cooled sharpening system on the market, a Tormek T8 What this means for you the customer, is that as well as sharpening on my Wicked Edge system I will be offering any size fixed blade knives, sizzors and eventually wood carving tool sharpening the Tormek system uses water to cool the steel and in no way can hurt the temper of any steel, also since the Goodmans Gun and knife show has moved to Lebanon, I will be getting a booth at every show that goes on when I am home, my prices on sharpening with my Tormek will be maybe $2.00 more that the guys with the grinding wheels that can damage the tempered steel while sharpening, and with that extra $2.00 a mirror polished Finish will be added As usual my Wicked Edge prices will be the same as they are as it is justified by the wear and tear on my system as well as the time it takes me to sharpen look for the Badass Blades Logo on a banner at future shows, come and meet me and get your knifes sharpened

  2. Steelharp, I have your answer, but, you already know the answer to your own question. But in case you don't I'll be glad to inform you. You see Jerry's finger there? That's it, the one on the trigger. Well see, that finger of his is much like Chuck Norris' beard. That revolver there knows that it has a reset from the factory, then it knows that it's reset has been tuned by Jerry. BUT, it also knows that none of that matters, because it knows that the reset dang well better be whatever Jerry's finger says it is. Otherwise..........well I just don't want to think about that.

  3. I cannot explain my fascination with the reset. It may be that it gives me something to fixate on when I am attempting rapid fire or double taps. I do not fire (necessarily) worse when shooting a weapon with longer reset, I just prefer shorter reset. Maybe it it something about making the trigger shorrer that causes manufacturers to ensure it is a good all around trigger? I cannot explain it and shoot about the same (mediocre in competetions. Win some, lose most) without it, but seem to prefer it? Since we are not discussing some PROHIBITIVELY expensive upgrade, to me it is as good of a reason as any to pick one fine weapon over a different equally fine brand or model. I discovered the SRT by accident and did not know what it was or what it was called. I traded a Sig 229 .357 for a Sig 229 .40 Elite (with SRT). I did not know what "Elite" meant in Sig Language. (I subsequently found out it means beavertail and SRT--2 features that I really prefer.) After firing it a few times I told a knowledgeable friend--I really love this thing. I don't know what it is about the trigger but I love it. HE is the one who explained it to me. Since then I have not looked back. I have spoken and competed with guys who insist that they slam their trigger finger up against the front of the trigger guard after every shot. That is fine for them. Not for me. (as an analogy, I also play golf. Gary Player is one of the greatest golfers of all time. In lieu of shifting his weight like a tradional golf swing, he literally starts walking forward as he hits the ball, shifting his weight with forward motion. That has worked great for Gary Player. I would NOT recommend anyone else try it.)

  5. I just heard about Tennessee Firearms Association. Was surprised that I had missed knowing about them. What's the opinion on what they do? Is it worth joining?

  6. Utah will get you WA, Nevada will get you MN, other than that no additional states that TN permit doesn't. Before losing these two states, there was to my knowledge no non-resident permit from any state that added anything to the TN lineup. - OS

  7. I haven't looked into it a while but from what I remember Nevada or Utah have some of the best reciprocity. There may be more but those are the 2 I know of. I've looked into Utah but I have a buddy back in AL that went the Nevada route.

  8. Well, I found a 16 LWH in 6.5CM that I'll have soon. I already have another 6.5, so no new caliber. I was originally thinking about 243, but I'm excited and think it will make a good light weight hunting rifle. All my others are heavy barrel, and I always get tired of lugging around after a while. Hope to find a factory load that shoots well.

  10. I bought 2 boxes of Aguila colibri cb shorts at sportsman's warehouse in Chattanooga last week. They probably had 10 more boxes. Not a full power short, but fun with the kids. Absolutely lethal on tin cans and necco wafers.

  11. Thanks @JoeCorrado I did not know about the free shipping if purchased in store. I drove down to my local Gander and placed my order and saved $25 on my shiny new Sig Legion 226 .40 over if I had bought from my sofa. I am now going to be a member of the Sig "Secret Decoder" Legion Club!

  12. I shot mine for the first time today without any issues. I only put about 200 rounds through the rifle, so I will keep an eye out for the issue in the future.

  13. The long extractor is the newer version. I personally don't think it matters, but some claim the shorter extractors are superior.

  15. I cant let all of you have that "heavy" fun without me! I'll try to get all the "heavies" to one squad...kind of a shame though, all the "heavy" fun should be evenly applied to all squads. Mark, your priorities are mixed up but, I understand you have to sleep sometime. :0

  20. 'Nuther question for those with Sig experience. Some have the long extractor, and some have what I guess is the newer short extractor. Which one is better, or should I avoid one or the other?

  22. I've never handled a Sig with the DAK. I've never heard anything good about them, but that's about all I know. However, I've never heard anything but good about Sig's SRT. I have thought that if I did wind up with another Sig, the first things I would do would be the short trigger and the SRT. Besides, I might know a gunsmith who's a Sig armorer and knows the Legion trigger job, so I can probably imagine it's first destination.

  23. This is correct! The strange thing is that there were no pleadings in the case, none to dismiss, no activity whatsoever that I can find. The blurb put out by the NRA is from the wife well known Tennessee Republican campaign advisor Ward Baker. Conversely, if one were to be convicted of drug crimes in the "area", our "near Parks" laws may not apply there any more...

  25. My follow up for my diverticulitis is still open ended. My colonoscopy is scheduled 6 weeks from now, depending on the results, I may be under the knife for surgery, removing about a foot of my sigmoid colon. My preference is no surgery, but prepared for the worst case. If it is God's plan, a little faith healing could be in my future, so prayers are definitely welcome and appreciated! May God bless and protect all of my TGO brothers and sisters!

  28. A civil case can establish case law; Heller and McDonald were civil cases. It could impact criminal case sentencing if whether or not it’s a park is in dispute.

  30. Based on all the "give us money" crap I get in the mail, surely they're down to their last nickel. I didn't know who was funding the suit. Regardless, when I hear "settlement", I hear "the lawyers decided it wasn't worth arguing about anymore".

  32. They have a bigger problem, the city of Knoxville has argued that this site is a park under the drug laws and added years onto people's sentences for selling drugs within so many feet of a park. The local PD and mayor are willing to put these convictions and future convictions of drug dealers at risk just to keep otherwise law abiding citizens from carrying into the park. It's my understanding this is not the TFA backed lawsuit? I suspect they will not settle, for anything less than the park being declared a park.

  37. I saw some of that(photographs from odd shots) and had to wonder about it. Some of that had a really staged look about it. The guys running around screaming "Don't Shoot! Hands Up!" and kneeling in front of the cameras, then looking back at the camera as if checking to see if the shot had been gotten. And what's up with all the masks and full-face bandanas? You want to tell us how great you are, and how terrible Trump and the new government is; then be a man about it! Show your freaking face! Let us know you are something more than a shill for the left. Something more than an agitator out to cause trouble by breaking windows, turning over trashcans, setting fires to cars, etc. And who comes to a political protest rally with hammers, and mini crowbars? This is a peaceful protest? Sure. You just thought that the bricks on the sidewalks needed work and you all were going to help the city maintenance workers by taking them up. I personally believe that you/we have the right and the mandate to protest and say how/what we feel. But when the vandalism starts, when the first window is broken, the cars are torched, and you start throwing bricks at the police and firefighters...the white gloves should come off. If you can give out...be ready to take your well deserved treatment! I have absolutely no love/respect/concern for rioters. Bring on the tear gas, water cannons, and the cuffs. Arrest and prosecute them to the fullest extent possible. Sorry...I rant. But I really hate people who do things like that.

  38. Funny! I was disappointed to hear of the violent protests. The rascist right didn't impede either of Obama's Inaugurations.

  39. dDd you see the kids during the riot that walked up to the police lines, sat down and posed in various ways? Some had their hands up like they were blocking something, some had their hands behind their heads. Meanwhile a bunch of masked people are walking around taking artsy photos of them. Then they got up and walked away. The police didn't even bat an eye at them. I'm sure those photos will soon be part of some propaganda machine. I mean seriously... your party lost, it's happened to one group or another since 1789... get over it. Sadly I don't think you could talk these folks off the ledge. Maybe Trump will legalize pot. Then they can medicate themselves and stay on their couch.

  40. Yeah, the entire liberal and mainstream media meltdowns been a constant source of puzzlement to me. I don't think that any of them comprehend how much their histrionics and acquisitions aided Trump's successful election. Worse still try to explain to any of them that if the man doesn't do good during his first two years he's vulnerable to a strong DNP candidate...if they can find one after crapping all over everyone. Good video...even if it makes me realize some of the folks having the meltdowns were probably off plumb of level all along.
