Why the hell do I want to money from the dairy industry? Every time I paid for a gallon of milk, I received a gallon of milk.3 points
-
I'll look at this from another perspective, and simply say from both an engineering and manufacturing perspective - not to mention market demand, We should probably have multiple sub $400 ARs at this point. There's no market reason holding them back There is plenty of room in the market for higher end, higher priced boutique stuff. But, there is no reason a basic AR with mil-spec components and a decent barrel need cost more.3 points

Pretty sure they have a telephone. Why don't you call them before going?2 points

I thought the Murfreesboro show was the worst in years. Huge areas in the building with no tables. The usual big dealer was there. Not much reloading stuff. Plenty of beef jerky, pork rinds and junk knives.2 points

+1 I have not seen a real price increase for milk I buy in so long I don't remember the last one. I normally pay about $2.59 a gallon which is what I have been paying for it in last 4 or 5 years. They can keep their 5 bucks as far as I'm concerned.........JMHO2 points

I made this from one of their cheap saw horses I bought on sale. I added some fake tennis balls that they sell for dogs 3 for a dollar most places and added a piece of plastic angle material I had around the shop. I drilled a hole in the balls with a spade bit and screwed the balls in place. Makes a light weight portable gun rack for my backyard range and comes in handy when I need to dig to the back of the gun safe.2 points

That's right, a brand new Old Man Tool Store (Harbor Freight) is opening right here in Lebanon. Should have doors open by end of the month. Next door to TSC. And if you're wondering why it's called The Old Man Tool Store the next time you there just look around. All us cheap old Geezers will be there.1 point

I might carry a 10mm on the off chance I might run into a bear, but there's no way I would go hunting for one with that caliber.1 point

I was also disappointed in the RK show in M'boro. Makes sense that it was so boring, half the vendors were 30 miles away at a competing gun show. You'd have to go to both to see a full show.1 point

Thanks for the warning, but I do most of my shooting in the back yard. Brass is a little harder to recover but I don't worry about what's on my left or right.1 point

Or just go. Chances are you'll end up buying something you didn't need but didn't mind having. You can always go next door to Smoky Mountain Knife Works and look thru their guns.1 point

Sold 4 on the railing in the lodge section a few years back after losing seasons over and over again. Save your money and get great seats a few times a year. Your welcome ......1 point

I am in 231 on the club level. 1- I do think that the club level is worth the extra money. Nicer seats, bathrooms, and I can get out of the rain and heat/cold. 2- I picked seats out of the sun. There are l more hot games than cold games... the shade works best of me. I see people in the sunny seats sweating and I am nice and cool. When it is cold... everyone has coats on no matter where their seats are lol Isle seats are really a plus for me as well. I have a parking pass in lot A. It is very easy for me to exit that parking lot and get on the interstate. Look at parking passes that are closest to the interstate/exit that you need to get on to go home. I can't afford the 50, but have sat in seats on the 50... I do not feel that I miss anything in my non-50 seats.1 point

A handguard can range between $15.00 and $300+. It's too easy to move the price of the rifle by moving any of the parts away from milspec.1 point

So are we also throwing Ruger 10/22s and Browning BARs into the rifle discussion? I feel the counterpoint I was making was pretty clear. You can pay anywhere from $400 to $1k for your basic M4gery. You pick whatever makes you happy, and that makes the world go round. :-)1 point

Went to the Goodman show @ Lebanon this AM. A bit of an improvement over the fairgrds., Bought some 9mm bird shot. Seemed to be not as much junk as before, but about the same overall size. Much cleaner & neater, more wiggle room ( but I got there @ opening ). Decided not to go on to the 'Boro. had enough for one day. Got to fondle a few guns I was interested in, so not a bad trip for me, YMMV.1 point

Royal Range is a Vendor on TGO, so while the format of the initial post may not include some of the information we were asking for back in 2012, the spirit of what we were after was met. Because it is so easy for anyone to advertise themselves as a "Trainer" regardless of credibility, we have had problems over the years with folks spamming the site to get their name out there. We've even had that problem from fairly established training organizations over the years. But RR is good to go as relates to this particular thread. Thanks for being on the watch for it, though.1 point

Ok, last bit of an update. I figure I will throw the switch and make this active later today, but... When I do this, I will most likely deactivate the ability to start new threads from within the Trading Posts forum and instead route people to the new Classifieds feature to post new items for sale. The Tapatalk crowd may not like it, but it's the only way this is really going to work effectively for everyone and frankly once again I am very fed up with the limitations that Tapatalk brings us. From now on my stance is going to be, "If you use Tapatalk on TGO, you will be limited by that platform. If you want all of the features that TGO offers, you won't use Tapatalk." Kind of a hard-lined approach but it has to be that way for us to continue to evolve and offer more services.1 point

S&W Sport II's are getting cheap also I picked up two this week one in Elizabethton for $529 and one in Kingsport for $499. I have custom AR's that I have built for much much more money. The cheapo smiths though have stood the test of time for me for reliability and reasonable accuracy, if the price keeps dropping I will probably keep buying more.... That said I did buy a PSA lower and a Troy upper from primary arms for $429 (its $449 now) the M-Lok and sights are a big chunk of that $429 heck of a deal (it comes with a BCG but will get one of the premium PSA's that I have lying around).1 point

After reading through these posts you all have convinced me that I should just apply the same logic and go ahead and buy that 2017 Chevrolet Spark at $13K vs. that Toyota Avalon that I was looking for at $42K. I was wanting a daily driver that I could drive for the next 15 years, and put 300K miles on it, and drive it to Cali if I wanted to with no fear. Heck if that GM car breaks down its cheap enough to replace the parts. Parts are parts. Its just 4 tires and molded sheet metal isn't it with a motor inside? Thanks guys, you just saved me some dough.1 point

A $400 rifle does the exact same thing as one that costs far more...it puts a bullet where you want it to go.1 point

Everyone has their niche, but I have bought 3 GT made knives and he is a master craftsman. Send him a pic or a description of something close to what you want and he will make it.....and you will be amazed at what he can do.1 point

You would just be paying for a name then, PSA has some decent quality ARs, I see no difference between them and the Spikes, S&W ARs I have. Its just that you are paying for an AR that is priced right. If I didn't have the number of ARs I have right now, I would be getting one of theirs..still might, I have another wildcat I'm looking at.1 point

I print those out and give them to folks in line at the show. Once they threatened to ban me from the show when they saw me doing it.1 point

Pic #5: This last view shows you how the Classifieds posts show up inside of the new activity search. Not only do you see forum posts but you also see items that have been added to the Classifieds. Also, anything posted to the Classifieds system will automatically create a new thread in one of the existing Trading Post forums! This way people using Tapatalk will be sure to see the new items as well. So that's how the thing works. What do you all think? Good? Bad?1 point

Yup, quickly accurate on COM to 150 yards or more with just cheek weld with iron sights, plenty of velocity with 5.56 out of 10.5" barrel or even shorter with softpoints or other expanding bullets, with 20-30 quick chances too. :) Can do it for 'bout same price as a Glock, so if stolen it's not the worst financial blow. Also, can legally carry it outside the vehicle in TN in normal times if necessary, and do it quite gray man if you keep it in something like this: Here's mine, lives in the above racquet case behind the seat in my toy truck: - OS1 point
