  1. I'm bumping this topic because I lost the postponement thread but I wanted to share some progress. Both have gone dormant due to some unfortunate circumstances but once they're resolved we should be up and running again. In any case I decided to go ahead and build out a G3 to learn the ropes and try to find any pit falls. So far I've learned far more than I thought was possible about these systems, and made a few more mistakes than I care to admit along the way. It still needs some clean up and paint after the test fire but here it is as of today.

  2. This test is said to determine how old you are by the number of milliseconds it takes to react to a signal. I took it twice and, according to the results, I'm a 51-year-old 20-year old. I was afraid to keep testing because I might start dating again. https://www.justpark.com/creative/reaction-time-test/

  4. There may be other states but I know Idaho has a maximum weight limit of 16 pounds (including sling, scope and any other attachments) on rifles for hunting big game. I believe this came about because hunters were making or attempting up to 1000 or more yard shots on Elk. Idaho fish and game determined this was an not a fair chase of big game and possibly too dangerous for other hunters. The 16 pound weight limit was their attempt to eliminate the 50 caliber rifles but this doesn't eliminate the real problem of stupid and unethical hunters.

  13. I'm glad it worked out for you, but for my taste it didn't. There are many pocket 9s that I found much more pleasant to shoot and carry than the PF9/11 series. I've owned a Shield since it was introduced and find it best for me. Yes, it's a bit larger, though not by much; and much more agreeable to me right out of the box. I've done absolutely nothing to either Shield that I've owned and very happy with them. Each has been boringly reliable and accurate. I shoot a mag or two at each range session to keep acquainted with it, and have found nothing I like any more than it. But that's just me and my opinion. That's why so many different guns are available. Not everyone likes the same one.

  14. A little more information about the Good Samaritan. He is a ex-con who had his rights restored. https://bearingarms.com/bob-o/2017/01/25/hero-saved-arizona-trooper-felon-restored-gun-rights/ I am a firm believer that once someone pays their debt and completes their sentence, they should have their full rights restored. How can you expect someone to be a productive member of society when they can't be a full member of society? There are much more than gun rights involved in that equation.

  16. Smokey all i can say is that 4" came to a good home. My pet load is a 400 gr. Jsp. Over a max load of w296. That chronos just over 1800 fps and 3000 ftlbs. I love it and when i finally make my way to AK it will serve its intended purpose. And the 700gr. Are just plain fun. If your ever over my way let me know and your more then welcome to take it for a spin to get the mag fix.

  19. Massad Ayoob teaches that. Since he writes for most of the gun magazines that we all read, I suspect that you read his quote. He sells and teaches classes on what to to AFTER a shooting and he constantly preaches this. He says that on the witness stand (which he does for free if you take his class) that he can easily debunk that you were "out to kill and mame" if you use the exact same ammo as your local cops. He has very concrete, real world examples of people who have lost in court after justified shootings due to using the "wrong" caliber/brand ammo. Most notably Harold Fish. (briefly--Fish was a schooteacher who was attacked by a deranged man and justifiably shot the attacker with a 10 mm that he was carrying for bear/mountain lion protection in Arizona. Fish was convicted of 2nd degree murder (based on the prosecution successfully proving that 10mm is SO hyped up that even the FBI couldn't handle it) and spent the rest of his life and several million dollars getting the case overturned, which he did after around 15 years mostly in jail and (I think) 5 million dollars. He died right after he was exonerated, broke and having spend his last decade in and out of jail. Ayoob says not to be like him. Carry what your local cops carry and this will not happen.) Fish's story https://www.buckeyefirearms.org/terrifying-and-true-harold-fish-story DISCLAIMER--I was just answering @Parrothead's question. These are not my opinions, they are Massad Ayoob's and I am just reporting them. Yes, i think we should all be able to carry cannons if we choose to. Yes I would have shot the deranged attacker with whatever I had on me. No it is not fair. But I also have no desire to spend 15 years in and out of jail and 15 million dollars!

  20. As someone mentioned before, lots of people fed up with the stifling situations in their repressive states like California and Massachusetts move to states that are less restrictive like cities in the South. They move there for the lower taxes, more freedom and less restrictions , lower crime and better standard of living. But when Election Day rolls around they tend to still vote the same way their parents and grandparents always did back where they came from and pretty soon the new place starts looking just like the overtaxed gun banning crime infested $hithole they left behind..... They don't realize that the way WE vote is why our state is where they want to move to and the liberal politicians who claim to want to "take care of you" are who create the mess they moved away from.

  21. Must be Georgia. Although it is true that Georgia does not have a codified sign law like Tennessee, I have seen legal advice that you should not admit to ignoring such a sign because it could be argued that it would be equivalent to ignoring a trespassing notice. So "signs carry weight" is not codified in Georgia law, but there are ways the wrong LEO and DA could charge you as such. Doesn't actually happen a lot, but it is a possibility. Here is a good reference for Georgia: http://www.georgiapacking.org/law.php To add to TennDawg's list of prohibited places: any courthouse (even if it has no security screening); within 150 ft of a polling place with active voting; in a jail or prison; in a mental health facility; in a house of worship unless permission is given by the governing authority. In the case of churches, it means they are prohibited places unless they have "opted in" to allowing carrying, but you won't necessarily know that unless you ask, and the penalty for carrying in a prohibited church is $100 fine with no arrest, unlike the other prohibited places. You can carry on school property "when the license holder carries or picks up a student.." Notice it does not specify while in a vehicle. Also allows keeping the gun in a vehicle while in a school zone..

  26. After many many many months of waiting, the ATF finally approved my Form 4 and mailed it to the one and only Michael Dresner of Law Enforcement Sales. I purchased it from Silencer Shop on March 1st, ATF cashed the check on April 11th, then approved my Form 4 on November 21st. The form arrived to Michael in the mail on December 3rd. So far I'm really liking it. Once I do some more shooting and testing with it to confirm reliability, this suppressed 300 blackout will become my main home defense gun. The suppressor is quite at home on my 300 blackout SBR as well as my 10/22. I put up a quick video with it on my YouTube channel:
