  1. I have deer hunted for over 30 years (most of those in LA and MS) and until 2 years ago, never saw a yote while deer hunting. This year, I shot one with my bow and another with my rifle. Have y'all shot many this year? I recently had two does under my stand feeding and I saw this yote walk out 200 yards away, spot the deer and then charged them running wide open. He came flying by me and I did not have a good shot and he chased the deer off in a thicket. About 3 minutes later he messed up and walked back out on the edge of the field and the 7mm-08 barked. It was the first kill with a brand new rifle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. I carry a knife everyday, typically my damascus TGO Magic. In an effort to minimize scratches on my favorite knife I don't typically put anything else in the pocket I carry my knife in (keys, change, etc). I've been TDY out in Oklahoma for the last couple of months and I came across these jeans made by Ariat (the boot company). They have a built in knife pocket that allows me to carry my knife and use the pocket without fear of damage to my knife. A small thing I know but it's made me pretty happy. Merry Christmas y'all.

  5. It's been hit and miss for me. Made a few more morning and have been out every afternoon for the past four days. While I missed a doe my buddy from Arizona got himself two 8s. This is his first whitetail. The second deer was a little smaller but had a broken front leg and needed to be shot. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

  6. Yoga pants are a gift from God. lol You know the guy with the camera kept saying, just one more pic...almost got it right. I had reason to be on a college campus for several hours on a Saturday a while back. Sigh...to be young again. If I started wearing yoga pants, you guys can shoot me...

  7. Just talked to PSA. After sitting on hold for 49 minutes they finally answered. The gentleman I spoke with was fantastic. He seemed genuinely irritated that they sent out wet ammo. He sent me a UPS label and RMA form so I could send it back and they will be replacing it. That is the kind of customer service I like. They apologized, said ship it back and we will make it right.

  10. Not only do I kill, or try to kill every single one I see while hunting anything else, I actively hunt them. I'm new to the yote hunt scene, but I'm trying to learn fast. They are in a population explosion. I'm hunting with a call, attractor, and a scoped 44 mag marlin. I will drop them as fast as I can get a shot at them. They will destroy your quail, rabbit and deer population. I'm 63 years old. These varmints were not around 30-40 years ago. Now they are in our and YOUR neighborhood killing YOUR pets. I'm gonna kill the basturds anytime I see one.

  13. With FedEx, I know account holders of any size got benefit of the doubt on claims. There's a fierce competition between FedEx and UPS to get clients, contracts are bid regularly, that's why you'll see these biggies often use one for a few years, then switch to the other. A company would really have to abuse the claims process before they'd be nitpicked over them. Ground did rebox some, sometimes with reprinted label, if label intact just reattached by being cut out and reattached with clear tape over it, would be shown in system as having done so (but not on regular trace to public, like when you track a package), but don't recall any obvious markings on the box that would indicate that. - OS

  14. The shipper is the one who collects on any claim. If PSA thinks the damage was done by UPS, they'll put one in if they want to fool with it. High volume account holders have their own procedures for that. I delivered damaged packages all the time when I was with FedEx Ground. The difference in that division is that the contractor would likely be found responsible for any claim if he accepted the package and delivered it. If there was the slightest question that the contents might be damaged, I'd scan it as "needs inspection" and send it back through the system. - OS

  15. Here's one without the text. Can you see it now? If I start wearing yoga pants I may have to look into getting one of these holsters but something tells me that's highly unlikely!

  16. They aren't doing anything under the table. They are following policy. Go to a UPS or FedEx store and ask them what happens if a box is damaged to the point that stuff starts falling out? I used to work in Shipping and Receiving for the company I'm with now. I've received three hundred cassettes in a trash bag before with the original shipping label loose inside the bag. This is just part of their of their policy and the way that they operate. They aren't covering anything up, they are doing their jobs. The fact that some of the individual boxes of ammo were missing their boxes completely, and you were 60 rounds short, combined with the box that is obviously way too big, has all of the signs of a damaged rebox at a shipping hub.

  17. This thing is a hoot to shoot! We put about 1000 rounds through it one afternoon, as fast as we could feed it. Got my MP5K barrel in today and gonna see if the gunsmith at Royal Range can do a swap or if I need to send it in. The only complaint I have about it is the stupid mag release button, it's pretty much useless if you're used to manipulating MP5's. Will be sending it off to get that thing removed and a paddle release installed.

  19. Dear Santa, I hope Roudolph can find my place to drop my new Rossi Circuit Judge .45/.410 butt-stock down the chimney. I'm hoping the weather and visibility are good. You can easily recognize my place by peeking through the window. It will be the one with the skeleton (me) sitting at the computer keyboard, anxiously awaiting good news from Rossi and Mr Anthony Acitelli, or even Tammy, that "Santa's on His Way"! We thought it was coming last Christmas, and when we heard "Sleigh Bells in The Snow", grandmaw ran out to get it, but got ran over by a Reindeer! It's been rough, waiting since last October. What's the matter Santa, are those Elves slacking off and demanding a $15 an hour minimum wage, and some of that Obama Care? I won't lie to you Santa, I've been almost good this year, but will try to do better next year, if you'll just bring me that Rossi Circuit Judge butt-stock. Also, I promise not to tell Mrs Clause about that young divorcee, Mrs Rossi that showed up by her Christmas tree in that negligee, with cookies and milk! Wink-Wink! Santa, if you need Mr Acitelli's phone number it's 1-800-948-8029. Now, get your fat butt over there and get my butt-stock..... please! Merry Christmas and Ho - Ho - Ho!

  22. Mine was too at the time. They're an awesome knife, but I think the design (while totally cool) makes them prone to inadvertent pocket openings.

  23. I concur that that your shipment was likely repackaged because it got wet on a conveyor belt and then blew open. Like at least half of Memphis, I worked in the FedEx hub at one time. Damaged and reboxed packages were fairly common. It's all about getting the package to its destination and let the shipper and receiver determine if there is a problem with the contents. Claims can be handled from there.

  27. I'll agree with Cap, they're not trying to hide anything, they're just doing what's necessary to get the box to its destination. I've gotten several packages that were either reboxed or had half a roll of UPS/fedex label tape holding them together. Corporate clients all have their own rates and policies for damages. We ship aircraft parts via FedEx worth hundreds of thousands of dollars routinely. Occasionally they get damaged and FedEx doesn't pay damages. It gets written off as "the cost of doing business".

  28. As much as PSA charges for shipping they could just eat it, let you have the tainted bewlitts, send you a new case, and not even fool with a claim.

  29. Ahhh the dreaded " 1 shot stop list".... Considering that firing bursts (multiples of 2 to 4 ) and then assessing has become the norm now for many, you have to wonder just how many people would have stopped from 1 but could not physically fall down fast enough to keep from absorbing the other 2 or 3.... We pretty much know at this point in the game that about 1/2 of the people that get shot stop after 1 or 2 hits no matter where they are hit or what they are hit with. That is a psychological stop not a physiological stop. Most people just do not like being shot and want people to stop shooting them so they stop what they are doing....So ALL handgun calibers generally stop HALF of folks with 1 or 2 rounds..... The problem is that the other half of people DON'T stop with 1 or 2 shots . At that point the typical service cartridges 38sp, 9mm, 40SW, 45ACP,357 Mag , 357SIG, tend to require a lot fewer follow up shots than .22 , .25, and .32 and .380. The bad news is that there is no way to determine from one individual to the next HOW MANY it will take to stop any certain individual. So if we use a service caliber, and engage with multiple rounds as "plan A" then we tend to have fewer failures to stop.

  31. Read a true story about a guy a while back that came back from the military and lived in a boarding house. He basically fed himself with an old air rifle by killing pigeons in empty warehouses around this area. He would trade some for other food stuffs and eat some himself. Where I grew up they would actually bring shooters in to kill the pigeons off the courthouse when the population got to big. They would get in the attic and cause all kings of a mess. There is always a lot of food around if you keep an open mind.

  32. I don't think it left PSA like that. I'm not positive because you didn't post good pics of the box but I would be willing to bet that the original box was damaged, likely from water and one of its stops and it started coming out of the box. UPS or FedEx would have then repackaged everything that they had there and let it continue on to its destination. They can't refuse a package for you so they let you do it when you get it. Having worked at Fed for some time, thats what it looked like to me.

  33. There's lot's of DIY chainsaw or band saw sawmill set ups if your mechanically inclined. One of the things tall pines such as you've described is for pole barn's. Try running a CL add for someone with a portable sawmill willing to split the lumber with you.

  35. That's odd and surprising. Unless by chance the ad mentioned that it was shipped somewhat loose I wouldn't be happy. If it mentioned "seconds" or "loose" or something like that, then it is a bit more forgivable. Wet? That seems unacceptable in any circumstance, but unsure if it is the fault of PSA or UPS/Fedex. If it was left in the rain then that makes sense. Regardless, I'd contact PSA and let them know politely you were dissatisfied. Give them the chance to make it right. Likely they would either reimburse you or ship you more ammo. Typically returns on ammo are always 100% no go. Perhaps UPS/Fedex insurance comes into play here as well. If that doesn't work, I'd consider contacting your credit card company and explaining the situation. They might be willing to help you out some.

  38. Hey Shotgunner, it's never too late to hear about experience in the field. I've heard that if you're saving the hides, the .17HMR makes a small hole going in and explodes inside, without exiting on the other side of the hide. I just put a better scope (BSA Sweet 17), but haven't had a chance to sight it in yet. I'm anxious to see what it will do in the field. Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

  39. I worry less about a ban than something happening that makes ammo unavailable in a meltdown kind of way. Heck, I have 20ga shells and I don't even have a 20ga. Lol. These would be a fallback tool plan D when you are out of anmo, have scrounged all your calibers you can find, ran out of reloading supplies, and need to use the ammo you just found in something since you do not have that caliber gun I know the ideal answer is to have guns of multiple calibers, but my budget limits my purchases. I know that is not the norm here. Most of you guys have waaayyy more guns than I will ever get to toy with. I also know this senerio is pretty unlikely, but like insurance, sometimes you get it hoping you never need it.

  43. If a vehicle pulls out in front of me and I slam into the side of their car, regardless of where I hit them, it's their fault for pulling out in front of me. I still say that just generally speaking everything you keep writing indicates that you live with a mindset where nothing is the consequence of your own doing and everything can be rationalized as the universe conspiring against you. Until you realize that actions have consequences, you're going to have a hard time climbing out of the rut that you've found yourself in. And I hate that for you! There is a lot about your current circumstance that is completely within your control, and while bettering it won't be easy it will be completely worth it. I'm rooting for you, but I am dismayed by the undertones in what I keep reading. I hope you're able to get things squared away.
