  1. Heard this one today. Guy goes into a crowed bar waving a gun around. He says this a .45 cal. 1911 with a 7 round mag. and one in the chamber. I want to know who has been sleeping with my wife. A voice in the back of the bar says you're going to need more ammo.

  2. It's amazing how much a good dog adds to our lives. It would be a very sad world without them! This is the very nice urn/box that I received from All-Tenn. It stays on my nightstand. Very comforting to have him close by.

  3. You won't like my advice, but I'm with peejman. You don't sound like your financially ready to buy a house. I would strongly suggest reading the book "Financial Peace" by Dave Ramsey.

Fischer told Business Insider that nearly 400 more transactions were processed on Black Friday than in 2015. 12. I'm sure if there is an all clear to begin going to both towns by all means go. I'm quite sure that all the small businesses that survived this terrible situation will appreciate having you there. Now is not the time to turn away but the time to turn forward and help those that you can with your tourist business. I have already spoke with my daughter and Son in law about planning a trip as soon as we can make arrangements. Every little bit helps them move forward...............jmho

  13. I've been broke ever since I got my C&R
    2 points
  14. While I agree it might be depressing, if you truly want to help then you should go. Many people in that area have jobs that depend on tourism. If everyone cancels their reservations it only hurts them further. Go, laugh, love, spend money and enjoy yourselves.
    2 points
  15. I wouldn't cancel. That would be the worst thing you could do for the area. Not taking away from Dolly's generosity, but there's a practical reason for her to help all those people. She wants to keep them around. The old places that are gone will be replaced with new places.

  16. If the all-clear is given by then (it should be), then I say go. The local economy there is heavily dependent on tourism dollars. They need us to show up when they're ready to welcome visitors again. My wife and I plan to go as soon as possible once the all-clear is given.

  17. Tartan, you win. Awesome collection. I attribute my interest in guitars to Chet Atkins and seeing him playing his County Gentleman. My mother loved Chet and I remember watching him on TV and thought to myself I want to do THAT. He made it look so easy, like all you had to do was pick it up and music came out. He is still my favorite.

  18. This part of my collection is mainly miscellaneous workhorses, beginning with the first electric I ever owned, 1979 Electra X-340 MPC. (case pictured is not the case for this guitar) 2004 Squier Telecaster-- I've hot-rodded this one quite a bit... Yamaha SGV-800 The oldest guitar I own-- a 1942 Harmony Cremona IV-- this one's been to Europe and back during WWII... belonged to a US Army musician--it's got quite a story. 1994 Epiphone PR-5E-- I logged over 300 gigs on this one before I "retired" it to the music room. Dean Psychobilly Cabbie model-- only produced for a couple of years; 2005-2006 DiPinto Belvedere Yamaha SA503TVL Troy Van Leeuwen model-- out of production. Fender Vince Ray Spookshow A/E acoustic-- another limited production model-- 500 produced. Robelli RB-1955 1970 Epiphone 5102-T. Again, the case pictured is not the case for this guitar. Stagg G-Force Competition V-- not incredibly expensive, but lots of fun-- body graphics and tailpipes are stock! Three different flavors of the original Squier 51 model... love these little guitars! Next post will be my favorites-- My Gretsch collection....

  20. Thanks for all the replies. The Laps of Love vet came to the house and Sarge was in his favorite resting place under a tree in the yard when he took his final breath, while resting his head in my arms. It was not inexpensive, but I would not have had it done any other way. It was the least I could do for my buddy.

  21. Can't believe what I saw the other day while getting gas at Speedway. Up pulls this car and all over the back was bumper stickers but, not just any bumper stickers but, gun ones, everyone of them. Either it was brand name ones, gun store ones, etc. My first thought was if I was a criminal looking for guns I know what car to hit or to follow home so I can break in at a later date. But, the messed up thing was the car itself. It was a very nice, newish car, not some old beater. I was in such shock I didn't even take a pic cause you really had to have seen it.

  23. Yeah nothing like advertising "come and steal my stuff". I agree usually those cars are the type that only the stickers are holding it together. I try to keep all my stuff low key even down to my gun carry cases and range bag. Showing off just brings bad attention.

  25. Dear Chip, If I want to pay full retail to buy your product from your branded store in an already posted mall, your letter of over whelming concern is a concern. You take no real measures to ensure nor any responsibility or accountability for my safety. The Bad Guy has already defeated the first layer of mall security, the GUN BUSTER SIGN, so he's already in the mall. That vault like security did not keep him in the parking lot or decide to try strong arm vs. armed criminal activity. Your message of no guns probably didn't hit his Facebook or Twitter feed, he probably didn't watch CNN before leaving the house. He will more than likely evade the second layer of security at your store entrance, another NO GUNS SIGN (and maybe a framed and autographed copy of you PC email hanging behind the register) You see Chip, a Bad Guy, whose back up plan is to use violence or lethal force during the commission of an illegal act, isn't dissuaded by ink on paper. With no due respect, You ain't GettingmyGoods

  26. I buy most of my jeans from Sam's. Usually around 13-14 bucks a pair. Also have found some really nice Wranglers at second-had stores for under 10. I'm wearing some of them now in fact.
    1 point
  27. And unless you actually, legally post your stores then I will 'respectfully' ignore your lame-a** request - if, that is, I actually go into any of your stores. Which I probably won't. I don't care about the jeans but I do like Dockers - which are made by Levi's - because I can wear them to work. Honestly, though, I don't buy them from the Levi's stores. In fact, since I really just wear them to work and since I hate spending money on clothes just to wear to work, I often look for and find pairs of Dockers that look like they were never worn at Amvets or Goodwill so Levi's doesn't get any of my money for buying them, anyhow. I do, sometimes, pick up Dockers at the discount stores in Pigeon Forge but I don't think those are actually Levi's stores.

  29. Take a look at an old Colt book... I think the S/N on the frame is the biggest thing... Try to date it and look to see if the barrel and cylinder "look like they belong"... As i remember, there aint any S/N related stuff on them... Look at the barrel roll marks and see if they look "period correct"... i would also give our buddies at Cherrys Fine Guns a call... They can give ya some real tips on this stuff... Here's hopin... admirin leroy...

  30. The 07/09 will take the P10 mags, but not the other way around, there is a cut in the P10 mags that the 07/09 mags don't have. The guy on the MAC channel said they will start making all of them with the cut in the future.

  31. Nope. They are the same size. Still looking.

  32. Never wear them, so don't have to worry. Same old story though. Some idiot does something stupid with a gun and everyone freaks about guns. If he had stabbed himself in the leg with his EDC knife, no one would have heard about it.

  34. I travel a lot too. A good bit is the same long stretch of road. And there is no way I can make the 8 hour drive without having to piss. Call me weak. Lol Like Gotthegoods said, I have found the good and bad exits. One trick I use is that in a brightly lit glossy tiled bathroom, the tile almost becomes a mirror. Even if it is not totally clear you can identify movement behind you. I do often opt for the stall though. Remember most of the doors will swing both ways after someone gives it a good kick. So if you are aware and see it coming, that door might just be best weapon to use first. Lots of my destinations limit what I can have on me and in my car, so sometimes you have to use your surroundings. And no, we are not paranoid, we are careful.

  35. Watching that video reminded me that a lot of gun writers really say and write stupid things. Such as pointing out the undercut of the P10's trigger guard and saying it's a popular thing that people do to Glocks. Glocks come with a healthy undercut already! Sure, people add more, but the Glocks I own came with more of an undercut than the P10 appears to have. Also such as calling the grip pattern a "grenade pattern". I guess? I wouldn't have identified it as the type of pattern that a grenade has. It looks very Glock Gen4-like. I do think it was smart to carefully copy the Glock 19/23's dimensions and configuration of the frame forward of the grip to make the P10 fit existing Glock holsters. I also wonder when Glock will file a lawsuit against them. Edited To Add: I want one.

  37. I do have quite a few other instruments-- other electric guitars, other mandolins, other basses, banjos, lap steel, balalaikas, dulcimers, drums, keyboards, etc.... but I figure I've posted enough... well, here are some miscellaneous gig pics, etc. I'll stop after this... I promise. And now, the obligatory "Halloween Gig" pics over the last few years.... OK, I guess I've taken up enough space here....

  38. Ok, Now we come to my pride & joy-- My Gretsch instruments. First Gretsch I ever owned-- 2002 G2619 Electromatic SparkleJet-- Sparkle finishes are incredibly difficult to capture in pics... Gretsch G2810 Bo Diddley Signature model-- The pickguard is custom-made, of my own design. Gretsch G5135 Corvette Gretsch G3156 Historic Series Streamliner Gretsch G5022C Jumbo Rancher--- this one goes with me to just about every gig. Gretsch Americana collection-- Gretsch released this series as a limited run in 2006, an homage to the various "cowboy" style guitars popular in the 40's and 50's. Four different designs, all parlor-sized (or cowboy-sized, if you prefer) Gretsch G2224 Electromatic Short Scale Bass Gretsch G6073 Bass Gretsch G9350 Park Avenue mandolin-- I've got a couple other mandolins, but this is my favorite for gigging by far. And no, that's not a "stock" photo. Gretsch G6130KPW Knotty Pine Roundup-- This is 1 of 9 factory prototypes, not a production model-- Gretsch did a production run of 75, but this one pre-dates the production run by about 6 months. Gretsch G6118T-125 125th Anniversary model And, my holy grail, my favorite guitar in my collection--- Gretsch G6196T Country Club model

  39. Well, you see, I've been on the market for a nice Garand, but every time I have the money to buy one, I end up with something completely different. This time I thought I'd upgrade my carry gun. And I wanted a good quality 9mm. Then, I was sitting around the house, waiting on a repairman (who never showed up) and I ran across this gun on a forum.... I sent him an email, and the next thing you know, I've bought a 98 year old P08 Luger.... We shall see how good or bad of a deal I got in a few days, until then we all must just drool over some pictures
