You now have immunity from all future panic buys. No one panic buys .30-06 ammo. Why? Men with .30-06s don't panic.6 points

Thy should also realize that likely lots of them will be going out of business, too, as Trump ain't likely to be anywhere near the gun salesman that Obama was, or Hillary would have been. - OS4 points

One of the guys here printed a Colt 1911 on our 3D printer. It turned out really good. Of course it is non functioning but will make a cool display piece.3 points

I have met many very fine people from this forum that I consider friends. Jack is one of them. Hate to hear his conditon has progressed to this point and am sorry that my visits to Memphis the past couple of years have not allowed time for socializing but the several times we got to hang out and other conversations we've had were good times...and memorable. Jack is a great guy and I can't even begin to imagine what he and Cathy are going through. I'll help.3 points

Oh my, so sorry this has progressed to where it is. The first time I met him, only 5-6 years ago, never even knew he had a serious disease at all. I'll kick in some bucks, least I can do, and hope this endeavor catches fire for him. http://repairingjack.com if you want to go straight there. - OS3 points

Hi folks-- haven't been on here in several months. No, nobody ticked me off or anything like that, just had some things going on and needed a little break from the forum scene, so I took a sabbatical for a bit from several forums to which I belong. In the meantime, picked up a few new "toys", and have been enjoying running them through their paces at the range. Good to be back-- now I've got pages and pages of topics to catch up on.2 points

I started loading it in the 70's with IMR 3031 and still use it to this day. The 165 great bullets are my favorite. In a same era Sako Finnbear Mannlicher.2 points

I'm hitting the woods. One of my most memorable hunts was a midday late October with gusty winds and pouring rain. It was dead until it wasn't Here came a doe busting through the woods with a buck in tow. They crisscrossed the woods around me for about 30mins before I got a shot. I remember the rain pouring off the brim of my hat at an angle from the wind. It doesn't rain in this part of TN anymore though. This weekend, I figure they might be frisky with the weather change... I hope anyway. Either way, I just enjoy sitting in the woods2 points

If you use gunbroker, go to advanced settings then completed items. That way you search for completed auctions and see what the items actually sold for instead of what people are asking.2 points

It is a Ultimaker 2+ It came out real smooth and with nice definition. On the other side of the slide it says Colt and has the patent numbers just like it is supposed to. This is the media we use.2 points

I've known that he has MS for years. Have chatted with him on Facebook recently, but wasn't aware of this. Jack and his wife are great folks. I'll chip in.2 points

I've heard it said, in fact, I've said it myself, that the .30 caliber of 1906 is the finest, most versatile cartridge in the world. I always felt justified in parroting this pearl of wisdom, because logic &, frankly, hundreds of thousands of people prove it to be true. However I always felt a wee tad hypocritical saying this, as a complete caliber whore, because until today....I've never actually owned one. I've bought several, but only because it's the cheapest way to buy a Savage that I've immediately rebarrelled to something sleeker, sexier, faster, bigger etc... I've never actually touched a single round of from an '06. In. My. Life So now as the immensely proud owner of an American classic, the Rifleman's Rifle, the venerable Winchester model 70, lovingly nestled in a stunning, quilted walnut stock; I need someone to school me on the rascal. What bullets work for which critter? What powders are giving the best, consistent loads? Who likes what brass? What've you shot, how far was it & how happy were you with the performance? Who wants to buy a Savage 110 in .280ai? Why did I have the visceral urge to buy this thing? Is it compulsory to buy a full sized 1911 now? Shouldn't it have come with a Greencard?1 point

I've been wanting to pick up guitar for a while now, and finally made the leap. We had a fundraiser auction at work today and a new Fender American Standard Stratocaster (made in USA, not Mexico) was in the mix. It's a 60th Anniversary model in Mystic Aztec Gold with Fender Custom Shop Fat '50s on all 3 pickups (whatever that means). I think it looks super retro-cool. I managed to snag it for less than $400, which I think was a phenomenal price, especially compared to what I see them listed for online. It's this one: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender/Limited-Edition-American-Standard-Stratocaster-Electric-Guitar-Mystic-Aztec-Gold-Maple-Fingerboard-1409670722552.gc So I have the axe, hard case, strap, and cable. I need a beginner amp. Nothing too crazy loud. Probably 10-15w would do it for my purposes. No particular budget in mind. I see plenty in the $50-$100 range which would be just fine. I don't mind going a bit higher if it means I get a lot more, but I'm not looking for pro-grade gear here. Any suggestions? I'm finding plenty of YouTube videos to get me started playing, so I'll start there, and maybe check out the Yousician app. I've already discovered the free guitar tuning apps for smartphone and tablets, so that saves me a few bucks on not needing to buy a tuner. Any other beginner advice?1 point

This guy deserves a pat on the back. #1 was stupid for going out there like that.. #2 the dog bit him and he still stayed out there and got the dog out. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f33_14792789801 point

While browsing gunbroker, I ran across a gun that spoke to my soul.... So I bid on it and was the only bidder.... I'll post better pictures when it gets here. It takes the obsolete 7.5 Swiss Ordnance round, which there are none to be found online for sale. So I'll probably just be sitting around fondling it for a while. Anybody else have one? It should make a good accompaniment to my K31 and 1896/111 point

YEP.....I'm going tomorrow to find my spot for Saturday. I'll probably just stay out until 11 or so. Who knows, I may still get another one for the freezer on the last day of muzzleloader. Then have the potential for 2 more does and a buck for gun season.1 point

You can't miss opening day of gun season! That's like missing your birthday or somthing! Seriously though it could go either way. The rain will slow them down, then they'll be hungry and with the cold front moving they will have movement from that too. But the wind may supress some. Who knows. Go hunt and report back!1 point

I generally use gunbroker as guide. If you can find someone selling one like you have, you'll see what they're asking. Then watch to see if it actually sells at that price.1 point

I've gone brain dead with all the red dot / reflex research done for my M1 carbine project. I think you'll like the 2 moa dot and it appears some good quality optics in the $200-$300 range. I have a Burris FF2 on the way. Methinks at the $450 plus you enter soldier proof / heavy duty equipment club. I need my stuff to be civilian proof and medium to light duty. To muddy your waters, good experiences reported with Primary Arms from actual TGO owners.1 point

I am heading out. Will probably have to still hunt through thickets. I doubt the deer will be moving to much.1 point

Well not all of us use a goofy vest...... Also don't recall ever having to move around back when I shot Bullseye. However that was a long, long time ago and my Master qualification card is no longer current so things might be different now.1 point

Prices won't drop like y'all are saying but they will drop a bit. Gary Hughes has said that only 8% of FFLs are able to carry NFA products. That means that just the available dealers would expand over tenfold. Its my belief that supply would be overwhelmed by demand instantly and gouging or just MSRP pricing would be the norm until all of the manufacturers could gear up. And yes the market would be flooded with cheaper cans. But do we really want more hunter town arms? As for innovation, most of the innovation in baffle tech is at a plateau. We might not see anything change for decades. But the real innovation these days is in mounting systems. The Wolverine is a perfect example of this. And don't get your hopes up about this bill. This one is already dead. I think it has just a few more months before it will have to be reintroduced. Then we start over. And the tax credit line will likely be removed. Not a great chance of it remaining if the bill has a chance to pass. If we as a community want to get a bill like this passed, we need to make the antis in charge stop looking at cans as fun toys and make them see it as true protection, not just for the shooters, but for the people that live around ranges. And we certainly don't need to remind them that we could make our own. They would never let it pass on that alone. Ghost silencer kills hundreds would be the next headline.1 point

I participated in a group buy on the FAL Files for a IMBEL Gear Logo receiver. I picked it up from the Nashville Armory last Wednesday. In two short months, I will be sending the receiver + my IMBEL parts kit to Mark at Arizona Response Systems to build my very first FAL. I am pretty excited to say the least! After patiently waiting 231 days, I have recieved my tax stamp for my Dead Air Mask. I have included a photograph of my Dead Air Mask affixed to my Romanian AKT-98, Last and but not least, I received my Russian VEPR chambered in 7.62x39 from the good folks at Atlantic Firearms yesterday. A special thank you to Atlantic Firearms for their stupendous processing + handling of my order!1 point

Reality seldom jives with screen writing. As far as Negan himself, really with Negan taking folks' wives and whatnot, and the general uber debasement and humiliation of his leadership cadre, c'mon. Somebody long ago would just have said "screw it" and blown his head off, just human nature that at some point rage would make someone care less about his own survival and take revenge. Happens all the time in our real world now. I figger Daryl will appear to capitulate, become a lieutenant and organize a little revolution, turn the group ethos around so that the Saviors don't all have to be killed en masse. - OS1 point

I think Ricks group could have easily defeated Nagan. He walks right up to the gate with his henchmen in a cluster behind him. 2 or 3 gunman inside the gate, 2 on the walls and a couple in the woods in hardened positions. Negan is the first to go, the others are in a crossfire. Without their leader and dropping like flies the saviors would lose the will to fight1 point

Send your info to the coordinator. He she will send you a name. Dig around on the forum to try and figure out what the person is into, buy them something and ship it. Most people spend $25-50. Or make them something if you're handy, some people do that. I think the fun part is trying to figure out what the person can use without them finding out who you are.1 point

I purchased the Surefire Ryder 22-A suppressor in a moment of weakness. At the time of the purchase, I was waiting for my Dead Air Mask to arrive at my dealer. As you can see, my impatience got the best of me. I am happy that I did or else I would have never given this can a chance. It sits permanently on my Tactical Solutions X-Ring 10/22 rifle. The rifles weighs 4.3 LBS unloaded. Therefore, I wanted a lightweight can for the rifle. I am thoroughly pleased with the can thus far. I would have no issue if you were interested in joining me at the range one day to try the can yourself.1 point
