On straight line with no wire leads. Was fishing for tarpon, but the barracuda were hitting the bait literally as soon as it splashed. This was the biggest one, bit through the line as it was coming up and just happened to land in the boat so it counts. Pay no attention to the hat, it was the cheapest one I could find on the way to the marina lol7 points

I have mentioned in another thread I have hunted 1 week a year in central Wisconsin. This marks my 29th year and over the years I've taken a few corn fed does, 6, 7 and 8 point bucks but nothing massive. I have only hunted Wisconsin during archery season and I have not gun hunted for deer anywhere in about 15 years. Over the years I've seen many large Pope and Young bucks but nowhere in archery range. Like most everywhere else last week it was exceptionally warm but the bucks were chasing and I passed on many fork horns and and 6 point bucks early in the week. Then on the drive home we always beat ourselves up because by the end of the week we usually see fewer deer in archery range and and up with nothing. On the 5th day of hunting I had seen nothing all day long which just doesn't happen very often where I hunt. It had been a long day and I was ready to pack it up and climb down from the tree and as I looked to my right I saw what may be the buck of my lifetime dead down wind from me at about 30 yards. I knew he was going to wind me at any second and I was just going to enjoy the moment and watch him. He was smelling the air with his head up high and kept looking up in my direction as if he knew something wasn't right but not sure why. He then meandered to within 10 yards to my right and being a righty it was impossible to turn a draw on him without him knowing. He suddenly spun and trotted to where I first saw him and as he was moving away I turned and drew. He stopped and turned broadside at 32 yards and launched an arrow. I got a clean heart shot as he went 30 yards and expired.6 points

I was just getting on here to say the same thing. Had twenty something deer come by today. Passed on a nice 9 pointer, well, nice character buck. Wasn't extremely tall or wide but had stickers all over and cool shaped rack. Very cool experience watching him. Doe comes in and I hear grunts coming from behind her while she's eating. I see rack sticking up and my heart skipped a beat thinking it was the big 12 from yesterday. As he walks in I see it's not him but another I've seen on my camera. He keeps grunting every 30 seconds to a minute then starts rubbing his head and rack on some branches. Keeps looking at her and she's looking at him but he kept his distance. Like he was romancing her lol. He eased in under 10 yards, I was looking at him through my scope and thinking dang he sure is cool looking and I can be back at the house to rest all day. But I think I did the right thing letting him walk because sure enough the big one will come right out first thing next Saturday if I tagged out haha. Great morning and still out here waiting on my number 1.3 points

TN now allows you to carry a loaded pistol in the car without a permit. My question is why is your company requiring you to have a permit, if the state doesn't care?2 points

Lots of colorful language tonight from Negan. Jeffery Dean Morgan is probably the best addition to this show in a long time. Edit to say: Enid was in that room when Rick was asking where the missing guns are.... how did she get out of the closet?1 point

If you don't find a local smith or don't mind shipping I'll help ya out.1 point

I don’t know anyone, but this is the first place I would check. Even if they don’t do it; they may give you some names. http://ccm.remington.com/ They list a bunch of places here for specialty parts and repairs. I don’t see anything in TN, but there is one listed in AR. https://www.remington.com/specialty-parts-dealers1 point

1) The only thing my G19 has ever had an issue with is Freedom Munitions reloads and those were bad primers. I had 1k rounds and finally burned through them. Great for failure drills but never again. 2) bud I've shot ammo my grand dad bought before going to war. When I go to his house he always asks me to burn through it. Mostly rifle cartridges. Most of it was fine. A few bad rounds here and there. Dry and climate controlled for the most part. The only thing I've had an issue with is shotgun shells. Plastic gets old and starts cracking cause it's been jostled around and improperly taken care of... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

A coyote turns deer hunting to coyote hunting every time! Congratulations on the capture of Kemosabe!1 point

I wouldn't count too much on the NRA expending a lot of resources on trying to repeal NFA laws and regulations. They have their hands full nation wide just supporting basic ownership rights. The fight is not in Washington. It's in every state and local government where the anti's have focused their resources.1 point

Well, I about went into cardiac arrest this morning! Sitting in the stand since 5am and haven't seen anything! Getting about that point where your mind starts saying "well it's a beautiful day but probably won't see anything if it's been this dead". 9:26 am I look up to my left and coming down the ridge is a buck! I'm like hell yeah! Ease up and glance through branches and only see the tops and think that it's the 8 pointer 2 1/2 year old that's not much bigger than the six I just killed Tuesday. My buddy hasn't got a deer at all yet so was planning on watching him pass and hope my buddy could get him later. BAM! Out he steps where I can see the rest of his head and I see the 3 kickers and off the back side of his left G2. Yep, that's when it hit me! I haven't seen this deer on camera since August and zero daytime photos. I have my rifle up but watching for him outside the scope because it's so thick back there where he's walking and didn't want to lose him. He stops at about 50 yards from me behind trees and I think uh oh. Then he turns around and stops, as I realize the wind that's been hitting me straight in the face ALL morning was blowing right towards him. My heart was going crazy as I'm thinking he's leaving. But it wasn't just a thought, he started walking back out. I grunted, he stopped and walked. I grunted again, he stopped and then walked. I watched his silhouette walk right back out the same way he came in and I was shaking like a leaf! He's at least 12 points. Afterthoughts: Should I have grunted? I'm worried now that I shouldn't have since he didn't like something. Even if he didn't wind me, he could have not liked the Doe in Estrus smell that I'd put out? I'd think he'd have ran if he knew I was there right? Anyway, I waited an hour and moved my stand back away from that side of the hill where the wind swirls. I have mock scrapes over there and that's where I had him on camera. that's where I think he was heading so I put my climber about 50 yards across from that spot with several shooting lanes if he comes back tomorrow. God I hope he does, he's a magnificent buck!1 point

I finally saw a deer yesterday morning. 3 actually. 2 does came along a trail I was about 30 yards from. I thought about taking one since I have a doe permit but decided to wait. About 15 minutes later a spike came down the same trail with his nose on the ground. Very small antlers with one broken off but good body size. It will be some good eating though! He's at the processors now. Not worth a picture, but weighed in around 110 lbs field dressed. My first deer since I started back hunting last year.1 point

I would pay the $200 reluctantly. It's the registration and all the other regulatory bull####, like not being able to carry the gun out of state1 point

I'm not using aluminum cased federal for my self defense ammo. Haha! I have just never see a Glock malfunction ever. I've been shooting them my whole life.1 point

You're missing the rear sight. I've seen this before, a yellow dot front and a blue dot for the rear. When everything is lined up correct you get a green dot on target. Super low drag-high speed stuff here.1 point

I guess I am missing something, but it must be a miserable way of going about ones day to always be looking over your shoulder and on high alert. Yes, there are some bad people out there, but man relax a bit.1 point

Because I got a pair of Finns... BWAHAHAHA http://imgur.com/a/HjfGg Got 2 VKT M39s from Classic Firearms. Didn't opt for "hand select" and seem to be in decent condition for the price. Both are 1942, and I seem to have gotten one War time stock, and one Post war stock. The War Time stock seems to have an older action and bolt, and in a little rougher condition. Range report will be soon1 point
