I hate doing this, but I talked to George about postponing the MP5 build, wanted to give anyone interested a heads up. My laptop is taking a dump. I thought I could get it to last till tax season but existing problems are getting worse. So my budget won't allow a new computer and an expensive weapons build this soon. Another thing, which was brought up in the MP5 threads was welding this thin metal. So me and George are planning to build a few G3 as guinea pigs to get familiar with the HK flat bending/welding/assembly process. These rifles are way cheaper but we aren't going to get quantity discounts as right now we're the only ones thinking of experimenting with them. This test will also give use the hands on building experience, ideas, and time to rethink and optimize tooling and processes for an MP5 build party. Hope y'all are still interested in an MP5 build, even though it probably wont be till around summer. We're going to try and still put together a group buy on those contingent on how the G3 builds go. Again, I'm sorry for anyone who wanted in on an MP5 earlier than summer, but the computer thing was unexpected and I'm trying to find a way to spin it into a positive. Hopefully the G3 build are a beneficial experience so we can have more control over the MP5 builds.2 points

I would have been, but I changed my POTUS vote 3 times before pushing the VOTE button. I just stood there for a few minutes looking at my selections and trying to decide if that's what I really wanted to do. No, one of those choices was not HRC. I know my little vote doesn't count for much, but I still wonder if I made the right choice. I've never felt that way before when leaving a voting booth. It sucks.2 points

I wish that was so, but the TFA has only brought a single legal action involving the parks law, and it's still working it's way through court. And the NRA doesn't do local stuff normally. The truth is if they fire you, no matter what state law says, they'll likely get away with it.2 points

For December I am looking at an IDPA match and rifle second gun. Possible 2 gun format.2 points

If you already have a gas generator you can get a tri-fuel conversion kit. No permanent changes required. I got one of their kits on a half price sale last year. Easy to install and my generator runs better on propane than gas. I also have the fittings for natural gas but haven't had a chance to try it yet. I also linked to their fuel consumption webpage. http://www.motorsnorkel.com/ http://www.motorsnorkel.com/propane-consumption-rate?___SID=U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBsNLVaujv01 point

New state record and potential world record non typical was killed this week in Summer county. This thingbos a beast. Right now it is only about an inch bigger than the world record. It will probably be under after the drying period. Something like 47 points and scored 308 2/8.1 point

Thank the good Lord above, I finally had something that wasn't a yearling or doe with fawns in tow! I've hunted every weekend sun up to sun down during bow, never drew it back. Saturday was in the blind for 11 hours, Sunday for 12. My neck and back were killing me. Had a spike walking 20 yards along side of me on the way in the woods Monday and he crossed my path right in front of me. I thought man if you only knew I haven't harvested a deer this year lol. But I let him walk. An hour later he came right by me again, I whispered to myself "Lil feller 3rd time your gonna be on a biscuit!" No third time happened so he must have heard me. This morning I jumped a deer on the way in, then had a small yearling come by at about 7am. Didn't see a thing the rest of the day until I bleated this one in. I had a decoy out and he came right towards it, stopping, stomping slightly, and then easing towards it again. I thought "How cool is this!?" Never used a decoy before. I shot him with my brand new CVA Optima V2. Using Hornady XTP and he didn't go 20 yards. I'm so happy to have my first deer for the season and my wife is even happier. She and my daughter have been wearing me out about being out of deer meat! Ill have to post a picture later, says file is too large Anyway it's a six pointer, young deer with goofy character in his racks but good size body and so blessed to have harvested him today! Going back in the morning to bust some coyotes hopefully, they've been running deer the past couple weeks.1 point

Its format is also based on Studs Terkel's "The Good War" which is an oral history of WWII. Excellent stuff.1 point

It's designed entirely to frustrate you. Specifically. Those are the most recent people who have logged into the forum and been active in browsing. There's an option to turn that off, but it would confuse and frustrate you even more by showing only people who are in your "Contacts" list within the forum. And hell if I know where that's managed.1 point

If you keep your eyes open, you can find a decent original 1911 for under $1000.You can be assured that as long as you take care of it, you will never lose your money on it!1 point

I am working with their support on the lack of member names in the chat area. If you hover over the avatar place-holder, it shows who the person is, but that is a pain in the butt. I had the browser do that "no scroll" thing to me once tonight but I cannot reproduce it reliably.1 point

Can I come and see this done? I'm very interested in stamped guns. I know we have previously talked about this but just making sure I would be okay to come to this. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk1 point

I think Cimarron Firearms made one, not a perfect copy, but close. I've not seen one for sale in a couple years though. well I'm an idjit. didn't read your whole post. You mentioned the cimarron. Dunno man. You might find a way to get parts and put together one, but I'm out of ideas.1 point

This is really a non story. The Smith & Wesson brand isn't changing on the firearms. If it's branded S&W today, it will almost certainly continue to be branded that way in the future. The parent company is simply renaming itself from Smith & Wesson Holding Company to American Outdoor Brands Company. It makes sense when a parent company buys enough child companies in different product markets to do something like this. It makes it clearer to investors that there's more to the company than just the S&W brand. From their Annual Report: Toss in the new acquisition of Ultimate Survival Technologies and it's clear that they're trying to build out a full outdoor lifestyle company, not just firearms and handcuffs (and misc. doodads) sold under the S&W brand. I expect the acquisition of a hunting accessory company (tree stands, game calls, etc.) to be in their future, and/or maybe a sport optics company.1 point

I'm planning on trading it for a gas card at the next gun buyback. Just doing my part to keep them off of the streets. Call it a patriotic sacrifice.1 point

My money says the handcuffs and everything else will still be S&W1 point

Adams Arms - was the cheapest piston gun I could find that seemed decent. Don't much care for the high twist rate, but this isn't going to be used for precision shooting either.1 point

They're not changing the brand. Guns will still have the S&W Stamp. Just changing the name of the holding company. didn't read deep enough to find out why, but would assume that it has its up side. Changing the brand would be stupid.1 point

So I just found this in Cartridges of the World.... "The 7.5mm Swiss revolver cartridge is identical to and fully interchangeable with the 7.5mm Swedish and Norwegian rounds" "The two cartridges differ only in bullet type. Most Swedish cartridges use an outside-lubricated bullet whereas the Swiss also used an inside-lubricated type"1 point

It was camo so they could fight the zombies........like mowing the yard and the grass doesn't attack you. Book was so much better and would make a killer mini series. Soo many stories you could tell that aren't even in the book.1 point

Consider this another endorsement for the Safe House. To me a safe is not something you want to cheap out on. Spend the money once and get the right one. I'm a big fan of Browning.1 point

I guess I am missing something, but it must be a miserable way of going about ones day to always be looking over your shoulder and on high alert. Yes, there are some bad people out there, but man relax a bit.1 point

My local GS pulls stunts like this. They take the extra factory mags that come with every handgun & then sell them separately for full retail. Every handgun they sell only includes one magazine so they have shelves full of Glock, Beretta, & S&W mags in zip lock bags they push on people. They do this with factory handgun hard cases too. Despicable way to do business! Tell your friend that I'll gladly give him some info on how to recognize & avoid scams...for $19.95 + S&H.1 point

Keep your mouth shut. Keep your head low, and be productive in your job. It is the best that you can do, and even then may not be enough. As others have indicated, TN employers need *no* reason whatsoever to terminate you. And... certain select cases exempted... you have *no* recourse. If you go out the door, it is very likely that you are just simply screwed, no matter how right you are... (sound like the voice of experience??)1 point

I doubt it. An arrow leaves a pretty large wound when you consider the width of the blades and how much tissue it cuts. A FMJ leaves a little hole and does not do much damage. Thats why they are illegal.1 point
