If you want to see the best selection of safes go see The Safe House. I have bought two safes from them and they blow all of the other dealers in TN out of the water. They have Browning and Liberty , which are the ones I bought and Superior and Fort Knox I believe. The guy who owns it is a straight shooter and will help you pick the right safe. They will deliver and instally your safe , which is interesting to watch them do.4 points

I guess I am missing something, but it must be a miserable way of going about ones day to always be looking over your shoulder and on high alert. Yes, there are some bad people out there, but man relax a bit.3 points

While browsing gunbroker, I ran across a gun that spoke to my soul.... So I bid on it and was the only bidder.... I'll post better pictures when it gets here. It takes the obsolete 7.5 Swiss Ordnance round, which there are none to be found online for sale. So I'll probably just be sitting around fondling it for a while. Anybody else have one? It should make a good accompaniment to my K31 and 1896/112 points

Agree 100%. much easier to just get a complete BCG, not just the bolt. If you're worried about a part possibly breaking, it would make sense to have an entire extra unit ready to go, rather than just the bolt. Have you already gotten you "oops" spring/small parts kit squared away?2 points

As I read your post I know how you feel the company i work for shows a video about security every year and they talk about the guy who is obsessed with firearms and everyone in the room turns and looks at me funny thing is i have had several tell me if it ever gets real they are all coming find me i tell them I'll be in the parking lot driving to my safe space ( Waffle House )2 points

Don't ask, don't tell. They have no legal right to demand a copy of your HCP. If someone willingly complies, it's because honest people want to be honest. Which in this case would be dumb. Do they keep a copy of your driver's license in the event that you want to park a car on their property?2 points

MCTS will be hosting a USPSA event at our range in Dickson on Nov.12th and 13th. We should have 5 great stages.1 point

Figured I would pick up a beater piston AR (looking at getting into 3 gun sometime soon). Decent deal from royal range, not much more than it would cost online and a lot less hassle. I just can't figure out why they would install the reflex site mount so far down the barrel.1 point

This a pretty dog gone nice axe forged out by a friend of mine. Same one who made the bowie for his Dad. Forged out of a ball peen hammer. Hickory handle done with a draw knife. Said he finished it in antique bronze. I does look darker than what that third pic shows. He also burned the rope design into the handle. I thought that was a neat touch, and it adds a little grip. Soon as I can get to it I'm gonna make him a belt hanger and blade cover for it. I think the handle's about 18".1 point

You may want to research this more but I found something that claims the 7.5 Swedish Nagant is one in the same. https://www.venturamunitions.com/load-x-7-5-swedish-nagant-109gr-fp-ammo-50-rounds/1 point

I know you've posted negatively about it several times and I'm not saying I would want to live there but my wife and I really enjoy going there on the weekends. It's great for offroading, camping and hiking. We typically go further down 68 towards Coker Creek but that entire area is full of adventure.1 point

Hi all, New to the forum. Not new to Tennessee. My name is Ben. I'm a Nashville native but recently moved back after 7 years living in Baltimore, Maryland (which is terrible by the way). I'm an attorney here in town. I used to practice criminal defense in Baltimore and here in Nashville I do a little bit of that work but mostly civil litigation. My EDC is a Springfield XD and I run an Adcor Elite 5.56 on the range. Looking forward to connecting with everyone and being back in a state that actually respects gun rights. Cheers!1 point

Well, I took off from work last week and so I managed to get to Kingston on the last day of early voting. At about 10am there were three people ahead of me in line and there were four polling stations. It took about five minutes from the time I got in the line to the time I walked out of the room and it only took that long because the lady in front of me had gotten married and needed a name and address change which they did for her on the spot. So I have done my 'duty' even though I am under no illusions that voting under the current two-party system means much or that it is anything more than going through the motions. They gave me a sticker for voting at which point I thought to myself, "What the hell am I, five years old?" I do think that says something about the mentality of the average voter. Personally, I'd rather have a sucker. At least then I could enjoy the irony of them handing out suckers to the suckers...er, I mean voters...who really believe that their vote still makes a difference.1 point

This issue had gotten pushed aside for several days due to everything going on. This felt like what I like to call a "Homer Simpson moment" in that I had forgotten about the hand torsion spring. I could not see it while the trigger was in place, and I didn't think about it until I removed the trigger. Then, well, DOH! It's not broken. I put it back in place. Thing is, I don't see how or where it could have slipped off. I did action work on the last Smith I had, but not this one. I don't recall ever having the guts out of this one. But, who knows, it's been more than 5 minutes ago and I may have had the parts out and forgotten about it, so I'm not ruling out that possibility. That little spring is a royal pain to put back in place. All seems to be working correctly and I'll shoot it this afternoon to make sure. Thank you gentlemen.1 point

Black Friday is coming up. Traditionally the Cannon wide body (the one a little smaller than the one you picked) goes on sale for $600-700. So you could get 2 of those for slightly more than the one. Or just wait for the sale on that one.1 point

I've used a bunch of AA1680, while it works, it is also the loudest of the subsonic loads I've used. 2400, 4227, 5744, lil gun all have a better report. You'll have to do the work up on your gun, not all barrels are created equal. My my favorite quiet loads won't run an AR action but are in the realm of supressed 22, I just use them in a Handi rifle.1 point

I'm a "stall guy," only because after years of being on the road with immature musicians, there's only so many times I can get kicked mid-stream by somebody I know. I have probably used every public restroom across the the USA.1 point

I've been building and customizing my AR's for a while now. But I always wanted one that was "me". My colors are red and black, so why not an AR or two? Heres my take on it! The first one is Cerakote, the second one is anodized. 5.56 300blk1 point

I understand your point. Honestly, I wish I could. My profession requires a little more attention to my surroundings. The vast majority of my "clients" have a criminal record. I make decisions daily that affects their lives greatly. These are not always "favorable" decisions. So, in an effort to relax, I try to make small changes in my behavior that allows me not to be looking over my shoulder all day, I.e using a stall in public. It may be over the top to some but to me, is an adjustment that really doesn't cost a thing.1 point

I guess it makes me some kind of blood thirsty warped psycho, but I LOVE hearing stories like this. I'm always glad to hear 2 scumbags died trying to rob someone. I mean, I'm sorry he has to deal with the hassle, but it's better than the alternative.1 point

Had my first crossbow hunt ever this past Saturday, was also my first morning hunt and what a great hunt it was. Got in the blind right at 0600, was 40 degrees, and was my first time listening to all of creation wake up. Heard a few coyotes off a ways, a neighbor's rooster, a few turkeys and every bird in Fayette county I think, I'm sure a lot of you have enjoyed this as well. Sunrise is about 0645 and almost immediately we had a little 4 point come up behind us, he was behind us stomping and making a few scrapes, was a blast to watch and hear. A bit later, we had 3 different bucks, none of them in sight, but one in front and one more on either side of us. We broke our grunt call and tried a few times, had a little bit of interaction with them all. Was awesome to hear them all grunting back at us. Unfortunately, we weren't able to call any in, but still a blast for me to be a part of. Around 0800 we had 2 does coming from our right to left right along the tree line. Our pop up blind had been out there for a week or so before we got in it, but one of the does right when she got into out field of view stared straight at us. I had my crosshairs right on her, pulled the trigger when she was right at 38 yards and she ducked my dang arrow! I missed and have been kicking myself since, but glad it was a clean miss and there will be plenty more hunting to come, pretty good trip for my first bow hunt. Was a great hunt.1 point
