  1. Some of you will chew this up with all the things wrong with it. But as a property owner, whose had property stolen and damaged on a farm site that was until this year never bothered, I like this person's idea. If you look close, it appears there is a posted sign at ground level that the person passes then......

  14. Many of us have been there. One of our guns break or has to go back to the maker for warranty work. The wait is often months and sometimes the repair ain't right. And sometimes you even have to pay the shipping! In 40+ years of shooting and collecting, I've had to deal with most of the major gun makers at one time or another. Most have been an exercise in frustration. The one notable exception is Springfield Armory. I've told this story before. To make it short, Springfield has absolutely outstanding customer Service. So anyway, I have this stainless Interarms/Ranger Walther PPK .380 which I bought used. A couple of weeks ago the decocker quit working. The lever would move about 30 degrees and then just stop dead. I couldn't make it go any farther. Now this raised a couple of interesting questions. Since I'm not the original owner, would Walther Arms honor their lifetime warranty? And would Walther Arms even work on an Interarms/Ranger gun? Even the folks over at the Walther Forum weren't completely sure. I gave Walther Arms a call. BTW: for those who may no know, Walther Arms is the American version of Karl Walther Inc and located in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. I talked it over with the customer rep. They e-mailed a shipping label and repair form and off it went to Ft. Smith. I got it back today. According to the invoice, they replaced the decocker and hammer strut, serviced the gun and test fired it. The pistol works perfectly. Better yet, from the time it was shipped to them and when I got it back was ELEVEN DAYS! Warranty covered it all with no charge to me. Now let me add this. While I had the rep on the phone, I mentioned that I had recently bought a used PPK/S .22 and would like to purchase the little wrench for the muzzle nut. No problem! They sent me one in the mail for free. Folks, you just can't beat customer service like that! I'm more than happy to pass the good news on. KUDOS TO WALTHER ARMS!

  15. Been looking at new lever guns lately and had trouble deciding on what to get. I'm a Marlin guy and had a hard time with the Remington quality. But after some research and finding out that.rhe 1894/5's had been retooled and overall quality was better than from 07-12, I decided I still had to have a Marlin. I ordered from Buds and my expectations were exceeded by far. Nice action, and quality fit and finish. Hopefully all of the new Remlins are this nice.

  19. Thought I would revive this old thread. I planted our fall garden for 2nd year in a row. Have been picking 2nd planting of green beans for about 3 weeks now. Have kale, iceberg lettuce which is first for me, turnips plus our favorite brocolli. It has been super dry here and without watering it would all be gone. Believe it or not we still have 3 cherry tomatoe plants blooming and loaded with green maters, have these planted in a container also btw. If you have never planted a fall garden give it a try. I have raised beds and finished our cold frame or small green house on the bed that has the lettuce and kale, took some old wooden windows that were in the barn and all I am waiting for is cold weather where they need to be covered up. Last year took pvc pipe and made hoops that were covered with heavy plastic sheeting and it served it's purpose.

  22. Man that hits close to home...I'm not even half a mile up the road. I will say that it takes some massive balls to hit a store in that area because cops go up and down Moore's lane pretty much 24/7. If any area of Brentwood has a lot of LEO traffic it is that stretch of road in particular.

  24. Yes. I was talking to GJ last night in the chatroom about this and I was blown away. He has always made nice stuff as long as I've known him, but this IMO showcases that his skills are still climbing and have reached a level of accomplishment I would very proud of if I were him. Great job again homie!

  26. I haven't been to a show in years. Last one was a Goodman show at the fair grounds and it was the middle of june or july, the A/C was broken, there was very little there I go to gun shows for (used/old/weird/cheap stuff), what was there was priced like it was Pattons personal colts and the cokes at the concession stand were like 5 bucks. Couple all that with nimrods going around flagging anyone and everything and I'll just pass. The free jerky samples were good though.

  30. I've been loading some 300 BLK and 308 win for a while now trying to get them dialed in. The 300 BLK is on at 100 yards for me with the Hornady 125 SST but I recently got my hands on some Barnes Blacktips 110 that I want to give a try as well. Everyone speaks well of them, so thought I would jump on board also. The 308 is shooting well with 125 Nosler Ballistic Tips. I really like the 125 grainers after years of shooting 150's and 180's. Nice little thump on both ends of the gun!!

  31. I haven't been to a show in years. I was thinking about attending one soon but it sounds like I'm not missing anything. I've found some decent deals at shows in the past but the crowds were always a bit much for me.

  32. I'm just saying what every single person on here is thinking. Stuff really gets under my skin... We (law abiding people) get hammered with gun laws, and just like Greg said, these criminals steal ####ing guns and ruin someone's store/livelihood and get off with slaps on the wrist if they ever are even caught with stolen firearms in tow.

  41. I've have come to the conclusion that aside from this whole "living dead thing" it takes so real artistic license to believe that someone like Negan could exist. So they get captured for a short time and he clubs a couple people, that I can believe. But as soon as I was turned loose, one set of camo and an AR and I could guarantee Negan's head would look like a watermelon after a Gallagher show. Just shoot the mother####er, am I oversimplifying this?

  42. It reads like, if you have to use two hands to bumpfire a pistol (less than 26 inches OAL) with the JT bumpfire grip, the BATFE says it is an AOW and you need to file a Form 1 with $5 for your tax stamp. That really blows my mind because I fire lots of pistols with two hands. That is really a stretch of the interpretation of the law IMHO. BATFE is getting way too far in to telling us HOW we can shoot our guns now, such as shouldering a Sig Pistol Stabilizing Brace and this JT bumpfire grip.

  43. MSRP is $579......I'd expect it to be less in stores and on line. I looked on galleyofguns.com and it's not listed yet. I think for now you need to order one through a Ruger dealer. I for one don't care to order something I've never seen up close.

  44. Latest Hickok45 video is of a new Marlin 1895 Cowboy and its... well I wouldn't want it. Different finish on the barrel and receiver. Horrible fit on the forend. Wood looks very cheap IMO. No comparison on quality of fit and finish to his JM stamp 1894 he has for a comparison. I really hate that a great American manufacturer of classic rifles is putting out such pieces today.

  45. I went from no AK about a year ago to 3! Plus a pistol! 7.62x39 just feels good to me, enough recoil to keep your attention, even FMJ really blows stuff up much better than .223 too, which is too fast for small size to do much but pass through. All the steel cased stuff is same or cheaper than same in .223 and you get a lot bigger cartridge and bullet for the money! - OS

  46. I'm sure they have a few barrels. They have been promoting the 300blk conversion for two years and talking about it longer. Meanwhile, iwi-us has had some pretty serious screw ups. lower on ace pistol - doe! That took six months for resolution to be announced to owners. stop making barrels for other manufacturers and focus on the product line..... or gag the marketing staff.
